The Boys Season 4 Ep 6 Review - And it Got BAD Again With A Huey Grape Scene! With

- Holy whiplash Batman! This writing rivals the Rings of Power! Even ignoring constant BS contradictions the episode pumps out at a rate that would have your average sewage plant blushing... The very structure of the episode is all over the place! it's so scatter brained that the classic weaponized hypocrisy of Huey getting raped as a funny joke is at best a bonus round to the awful Olympics!

Some scenes show the depravity of a show's characters.
Some scenes show the depravity of the show's creators.
Perfect statement.
Homelander could have addressed their concerns with one sentence, "Fear... Fear will keep them in line."
That's too real and applicable to the real world, not to mention a crime fighting policy that actually lowers crime and you can't go around imparting wisdom on the unwashed masses.
Homelander isnt allowed to be competent at all, he is literally "hitler/trump/satan" to progressives, the showrunner kripke literally confirmed this, he is only allowed to be cartoonishly evil and only able to get where he is through exploitation and a monopoly on power/force. Except, he is also incredibly weak and cant actually fight either, so he ends up failing as a real villain because he isnt exactly threatening. Maeve kicked the everliving shit out of him... stabbed him with a fucking PENCIL... yeah the bulletproof guy is weak to pencils... this show completely lost the plot in season 2. Its nothing but orwellian 2 minutes hate for progressives to demonize average everyday conservatives. Pure propaganda.
"Fear of the enemy, fear of failing us, fear of each other."
He could if he wasn't a psychopathic man child that he is. That's was the whole point of the scene. He is pathetic
Reminder that the showrunner thought that Hughie's grape scene was "hilarious" and thinks that Batman is a fascist
FFS.
What a nightmare.
Well, he probably lives in a big city and just accepts the crime, "why can't Batman just be a millionaire comformist like me"
He also thinks that Batman only fights poor people and profits from it.
Never mind Ras al ghul or the penguin.
I love, how a perfectly descriptive word for a set of beliefs on governance has become a "no your a meany head" now days, ironically done by those typically more in line with several of its tenants.
@@markjacobs3232 And in a deeper analysis, since it's all through, by and for the state they don't even realize that they're basically the new f-ist man, droned to only believe things from the government issued source even if it contradicts intuition, knowledge and observable, cognosible reality.
For lack of a new communist man, sure there is a new f-ist man.
iTS baSEd oN tRUmP "hurr durr"
They still don't get why the commoners want to shove Orange Man up their arses as far as he'll go.
To much of the episode spent in Epsteins basement.
Hmmmm???
Huey gets graped by black noir in the comics but it certainly wasn't played for laughs...
Garth Ennis is "edgy and disgusting" and everyone kept saying this show is "sooo much better, Ennis is a hack" and yet after reading The Boys comic this is just garbage propaganda. Much like Preacher. The Walking Dead etc. They're all bad and barely resemble their source material. All these TV writers think they know better or are more talented and yet high school film students are better.
I thought he just put a thumb up his ass or something
@@ct9564thats what Ive been feeling recently. I see people talking about how edgy and cringy the the boys comic is but the show is so great you guys. Even though its the same thing with how disgusting and edgy it can be. I realized that the comic might be in the same vain as rick and morty and south park but those shows are beloved by many. I think the reason might be is that the fans of the show see the show the way hard core anime fans see western animation or family guy rip-offs. Just a hunch.
@@josesosa3337 Yeah, but the medium of comics, especially the way Ennis does it is fun and pulpy. He comic says what it wants to and there's no pressure, the plot is good the points made are made clearly. This is just a mess, I don't believe TV just like film has anything genuine in them anymore, just warped source materials turned propaganda.
@@ct9564I think the biggest irony is the showrunner saying he isn't going to pull any punches and then that's exactly what he does. He's scared to let a fictional character do things within character b/c some fans might not agree with all his political opinions. Focusing too much on politics and not enough on storytelling
If Seth Rogan is involved , steer clear
If j$w involved
He was never good?
Surprisingly, he's actually good as the voice of Allen the Alien in invincible. I was actually shocked when I find out that was him. Turns out he actually can act.
@@MrPyroCrabhis voice ain't the problem, his writing abilities are
Wish I known sooner...
I didn't really understand what the BDSM actually added to the episode, other than gross-out "comedy"
Pure shock value, its like a trainwreck.
That's all it added. That and to take the one hero from the comics and make him a grape-ist.
i would guess it has something to do with power and how it corrupts everyone
Yeah it was funny for like 2 seconds and then I just felt uncomfortable and grossed out.
@@HallowzDev there aren't many scenes in the show you're really intended to watch without being uncomfortable
When a showrunner or any important person associated with a show initiate a public attack towards the viewer before the 1st episode airs, should be regarded as a red flag that the final product will be shiite.
Over what this time
@@user-cs4su3ng9lhe has major trump derangement syndrome, says how “the terror attack worse than 9/11 that is Jan.6th” and things of that matter will be in the show as well as heavy 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️ propaganda & the usual buzzwords like racism, bigotry, “toxic masculinity”, & if we the audience don’t want to see that shit then watch something else & ‘touch grass’.
16:50 A line only a leftist could make.
The same group that came up with the term "Justice-Impacted Individuals" also came up with Cuties.
I think the most hollow thing about the satire now is they keep taking issues most associated with the left, and try to act like they are right issues, instead of just sticking to one or mocking both.
There was a producer from Breaking Bad that kept the showrunner in line and the writing good but he left after the first season. That's probably why the writing went downhill immediately after.
He saw where the showrunnner was headed and he knew he didn't have the talent of Vince to pull it off and look at The Boys after episode 6. They didn't even show the tits but we're suppose to watch Hughie get double molested for 30 mins. Shi wasn't just gross it was goofy. Dollar tree p0rn actors😭

@@S71xxtrue hero. Not as heroic as Homelander still. But he is getting there. More on Firecracker level for now.
After the neckbeard attacks immigrant from the previous season, I just decided to not keep watching, to my benefit apparently.
The fact that that scene was supposed to be taken 100% seriously is baffling.
@@gathenhielm9977 The fact that the scene was made to somehow represent some facet of reality is just… it takes a level of brainlessness I can only expect from a costal city cosmopolite.
Haha what?
Lil bro watched how right wing politics corrupt young minds and goes "nah, actually that has never happened before and I'm going to continue to hold my dogshit beliefs and never question why people like neckbeard criminals are portrayed that way."
This was such a disappointing analysis of that money men scene. Newman promises them to eliminate all regulations pertaining to their industries which why this is stupid satirization of the current system. Those companies want more regulations because that decreases competition. The regulatory burden for them is a drop in the bucket, for someone just entering the market it's a huge expense and either prevents them from starting up in the first place or increases the chances of that business failing. I found that infuriating. Almost as much as the donation scene. Of all the organizations charitable and otherwise, they chose Pocahontas, the release killers project and burn loot murder. They could have at least invented a non-profit helping people injured by soups or some charities that actually help people.
Yep. Totally agree.
It's kinda hard to believe it's become such trash, then I remember it's Amazon.
It's always been the woke taking a giant dump on the West in general and the US in particular, hitting all the usual targets - Americans are Nazis, Americans are murderous overgrown babies corporations are evil, the Republicans are Confederates, etc. They're just being even more blatant and insulting about it, because the fans are spitting back on the writers by liking the villains.
I don't understand... did Arch not realize the writing of this show was God awful since season 1...?
Season 1 was at least more fair. It was like south park, it only works when it makes fun of everyone, but to your credit that all dropped in season 2 and fully committed to becoming a progressives wet dream for orwellian 2 minutes hate.
Of course not. He thought that Homelander was cool and great American hero. I dont really get there right wing guys, they literally needed like 3 seasons to realize the show is a critique of everything american and corporate.
@@Zadrigo I guess he missed the part where they humiliated Homelander with Queen Muff beating his ass? Just weakening their main antagonist for what, girl power?
@@ZadrigoNaw the comic was a critique of America and corporations. This show is propaganda trash, like Preacher. Barely resembles its source material.
@@Zadrigo theres not a single person on either side of the political spectrum who didn't get what the show is trying to do. It's about as obvious as it could possibly get. Why you people keep using an argument only you believe is the real mystery
The thing I find really fucked up about this, is that they did something similar to the Deep in season 2. The Deep told a woman no, and stated he was in pain when a woman put her fingers in his gills. The woman laughed called him a freak and continued. We watch the whole thing happen both in a close up of The Deep going dead in the eyes, then they pan away to see the woman still on top of him. I don't know if they did the same thing with Huey where we actually see the act occur, but god I hope not. The first time this happened I had to walk away I was so upset. At least with Starlight they had the decency to pull away so we didn't have to watch it happen, which felt somewhat respectful.
I get what u mean. The show writers tell the viewers to think a certain way and feel a certain way. But when u only vaguely hear about HL graping Becca. Or you only hear about the Deep harassing women. But you see HL constantly trying to help and getting shut down or humiliated or you see the Deep getting violated. You don't need the writers to tell you. You can see/feel it for yourself. They want the "victims" to always look strong and the "abusers" to always look weak. That's great if you're trying to make yourself feel better but not if u want ur audience to genuinely get where ur coming from. If we saw the bad things that happened to Maeve/Starlight it would make them seem more real instead of like 2 dimensional girl boss drones
Well that's different because the Deep SA someone in season 1. So the gill scene is played for laughs.
Male rapp is always funny to these freaks.
No all is funny
idk what annoys me more. the lame depiction of bdsm, or the pisspoor writing of Sage and her dialog. Also, I guess because she's a supe, Firecracker shoots milk like a garden hose? this show is so weird at times.
She said she took a lot of hormones to make it happen, but yea. Weird.

The boys has some cool concept and moments.
But 20 - 60% of every episode is just unwatchable cringe that I skip.
And despite me skipping chunks, it takes away 0 from the overarching plotlines and character developments. Go figure.
Yeah the episodes are 50% filler and even without it the plot barley progresses
Wouldnt Homelanders plan to coup the government hit the roadblock that Vaught has already sold temp V to the US? Three supes, two of them temps, beat him to the dirt in season 3. An army of them will probably take him out.
"Heavy breathing" edition of AI Arch thumbnail.
their screenwriters slipped out what they actually thin of other people?... whoops
Yep....this show dont need my views anymore
sister sage is a boring super genius. she could have cool tec and weapons but she dosent. she just makes plans. like an evil batman.
Really wish Arch would stop putting inside the show his own headcanon and say the other episodes were good, no they were not and if it wasn't made just blatantly obvious already from this episode especially the showrunners seem to live with the "far right" inside their head rentfree...
I am just sad that we had an episode of Homelander being a threat an actual threat, we had a homelander that was over his gripes and his weakness, then 1 episode later we have a Homelander too afriad to answer the money bags with "because I am the homelander, and I can do whatever the fuck I want". Perfect time to use that line but no.
Then we have Homelander once again going to the milk. I would have wanted homelander to lazer firecracker after that. he has a moment of vulerablility and then he in his own minds words "cut it out at the root". They had the perfect chance to show how Homelander can now be a threat and a monster.
I cannot take him as a threat seriously, aside from "But when he snaps he will be scary". No because last episode was the snap, he went in the hosiptal he snapped. All that progression gone for what? Was it too soon for scary Homelander? Did they need to give him a love interest again "Yeah but this time he is in control", Okay that is fine, but what better way to show that than with Homelander just lazering her to death for trying to expoit his weaknessess.
A perfect agrument for the loyalty, if you were loyal don't use me.
HL is just a woke expression of what they call male toxity, a violent child ..that's how wokes see Masculinity , it's pure brainwashing
Exactly HL should be killing main characters or main characters should be killing supes. The Boys ain't killed shi since Transculent. The showrunners too focused on political narratives and not enough on storytelling. Frenchie regressed too. MM small asf. Starlight look goofy and her arc this season is a joke. The Gen V kids can't act. Season 5 gonna be dead asf if these last 2 episodes aren't the best in the show. If its another Season 3 ending they're colled
@AyKrax So you just forgot about black noir?
@@tysonpeterson9552 That is actually such a good point. Homelander killed black noir cause he betrayed him. Hoping he does the same with Firecracker for using his vulnerabilities against him.
@@tysonpeterson9552 HL killed Noir not the Boys and ofc I noticed new Noir a yapper😭
it was always bad since and including season 2
Yeah I'm pretty sure it's a shoe-in writer situation where they needed to check some boxes and brought people who either werent interested in the show besides the clout that would come from writing it or watched the thing with subway surfers in the way. It happens whenever something gets popular, the mob demands to be part of whatever it is,
Have you seriously not been watching the show? You people are acting like this is unique to season 4 when the show clearly lost the plot way back in season 2, its measure of fair criticism in season 1 was literally just a ruse in order to get the show off the ground. Season 4 is the show theyve wanted to write this entire time but this show never wouldve made it past a pilot if it didnt try to initially appeal to mass markets. As soon as amazon green lit them for 5 seasons of job security they drop the act and write the show theyd always wanted to, quality and marketability be damned. Theyre likely communists who have no concept of the bottom line or profit and see it as a form of protest and a way to get back at the man... but you cant criticize corporate media when you are corporate media. A corporate sellout calling out another corporate sellout is just the pot calling the kettle black.
All this to say that they arent just seeking out popular stuff and ruining it, although it definitely does appear that way so i can see why you would think that. The show is purely orwellian 2 minutes hate for progressives, pure propaganda in the same vein as antijewish propaganda circa 1930s germany...
Why not tell the mob to get out?
ok this little anglerfish is a very good additions to the group
This is actually addressed in comic as - while Homelander successfully attacks the White House and kills the president - his coup doesn’t last long. Quite aside from contingencies being made, the Supes have almost no coordination with which to fight the army with, being super-powered but not to the same level of say, Superman or The Hulk. The fliers get taken out by properly trained fighter pilots. Because they just keep getting in each other’s way.
Homelander’s power seems greater in the show compared to the comics, but it still doesn’t seem unbeatable, even for a proper military.
You invested MORE THOUGHT into the script, than the scriptwriters who wrote it! How PATHETIC is that, on Amazon's part?!
And I was thinking about catching up with this new season but I’m rethinking that now 🤦♂️
You ever read 1984? Remember the 2 minutes hate that everyone had to watch? Its the boys.
Why are people still watching this crap?
The Gore is pretty cute.
People are suckers for "What if it was gritty and dark?" content.
It's the entire reason the author of "The Boys" and "Preacher" has a career. It's the reason George RR Martin has a career. People think if you put in gratuitous sex and make every character revolting, it's somehow a substitute for decent writing.
@@x43902467 Nah, GRR wrote a genuinly good piece of fiction. The gratuitous anything was just part of the story, not the appeal.
Now the show past Season 4 on the other hand...
i enjoy parts of it. like butcher and homelander, the deep too.
@@x43902467 The Boys comics and A Song of Ice and Fire are and were both great. It's just companies and marketing that made them seem like The Bible 2.0, which neither is. The adaptions also just completely threw all source material out the window so... Yeah, just wearing the skin of a cool IP.

The Deep saying he knows Noir is just the Deep trying to build up his role in the 7. It’s like a Toddler telling everyone he’s the best at everything!
It felt really artificial when Tek Knight's butler decided to kill him. Supposedly this character has raised Tek Knight since he was a child, so he been there for decades. But somehow today is the day he decides to kill him?
S3 was a confused mess why should it get better
Feels like they’re really tight on the budget, most episodes are just one or two locations. But more so it feels they’re treading water, trying to make a couple of episodes of story last another 10 episodes …
The mission to go into Tek Knight's mansion made no sense. There are 3 separate Supes with some kind of observation powers who might find them.
First there's Homelander, who can see through walls if he chooses to and has super-hearing and super-smell. He should be a big risk just by himself. They also have Sage who is super-smart and might well figure out that something is wrong. Then there's Tek Knight, who has some kind of super-observation powers and he might also easily figure out that something is wrong, particularly if he's going to meet Hughie disguised as Web-Weaver. Despite all of this, Hughie is able to plant some conspicuous-looking bugs around the place to listen in on their conversation.
They kind of point out how risky the mission is in the show, but then they do it anyway. It felt so artificial.
At 2:00 thats litterally what heppens in the book. Homelander organizes the supes and they take over the white house. It doesnt last long though because of different factors and the government having anti- compound V weapons. The coup doesnt last long in the books.
Last week was really flashy, and there was a whole lot going on, which made you forget that? It was all garbage that you were watching
Last episode was trash, and dropped.
Yeah this episode did feel off and made me uncomfortable when I watched it
This season has dialed up the wokeness to 11. Has it always been woke? Yes. But this season has been the WORST. Also the story just grinded to a halt. The plot isn’t advancing. Each episode its people in a room doing weird shit. Im just checked out and bored at this point
Season 4 is a pure dumpster fire of dog sh*t.
Every Single Time
Another example of "I know all this prewritten plot exists in the comic/book, but I'm going to "make it my own." Translation: I can do this better than the original author, watch me! Like we all predict almost every time showrunners start getting creative, they screw up everything and inevitably damage the brand/product they're working with. If the author doesn't retain majority control of a creative project, be warned, the odds that the person in charge will remain faithful to their original vision is extremely low. The Boys is just one of many recent victims of this crap.
Mommy issues does not equal breast milk addict. Theres no reason how she should know unless sage told her off screen which is bad writing. A lot of information characters just get with no explanation
Old money people don't want more money. They want power and wealth.
This episode shows them trading all of that for money. If society falls apart they lose it all and have to leave with whatever money they can get out of the country with them.
This satire doesn't understand reality enough to make fun of it
why the hell would anyone watch this awful show?
just skip all the scenes without homelander
It's just gore and shock prawn at this point. That and having Starlight have a muh-bortion to own the Chuds. That and running cover for Hollywood. Show can be funny as hell sometimes and Sister Sage is great but it's been a bad trade this year.
If its uneven quality why bother
False Equivalency, Starlight willingly did the deed to get ahead in the seven and not be kicked out, Huey had no choice in the matter. The entire Boyz season 4 is unwatchable. Its cringe and disgusting not funny. Its not satire is degeneracy.
Season 3 should've been the final season
12:00 While this episode was terrible, it was highly convinced that all the actual saves they did were staged more or less. The "crime analytics" labs was basically doing things like manipulating criminals to rob a bank so there'd be a PR opportunity. Not sure if it counts as a real save if they created the situation in the first place.
Fans of the show, observe! Firecracker and her fans irl!

Did someone say "sex dungeon"?
I thought this ended years ago.
Personally, never much cared for The Boys, always seemed like an edgy, nihilistic slog written by someone with the BIGGEST hate-boner against super heroes to the point where if someone said the author was an alternate version of Syndrome from The Incredibles who became a writer, I could absolutely believe it. Disdain only worsened upon learning Butcher can be classified as a Gary Stu who just so happens to mirror the author’s political and religious stances and is apparently always right about them.
That said, this somehow manages to sound much worse. What the hell is _wrong_ with these people?
Also; I like this fish, can we keep her?
My interpretation of the tv show and the comic and the creator itself , a sex creep with a massive problem with Dc and Marvel and is still hidden in the closet with Seth Rogen.
I never ever heard of the comic ever. It was never mentioned back in 2000s along with the more popular superheroes anti etc. But somehow 2010s towards the like 2019 and the 2020s this is " Super hero" entertainment. Made by eltist hollywood.
Saw that “Fight Club” twist coming from a mile away 😞 This season is really bad, overall boring and with loads of wasted potential.
Shame, especially after a very enjoyable season 3.

I knew this show was gonna turn to crap before Gen V came out when Eric Kripke was throwing a fit in a few interviews about how a majority of fans liked Butcher, Homerlander, and Soldier Boy. Gen V was pile of trash too. It was so pretentious and an overly blatant message to "own the chuddies". Looks like The Boys s4 is turning out to be the same. 🥱
Gen V was one of the worst pieces of television I had the displeasure of watching. I hated pretty much every character in the show, and the protagonists were all awful people.
