    The most impressive part in my opinion is that when he's skating in the group with the professionals, he's so in sync, I don't think you would ever know he only skated a few months!

      I have a close family member who knows through gymnastics many of the competitors in varying degrees; and says that Nile is one of the most kind and genuine of them all working hard - this is thoroughly deseerved he was streets ahead of the rest!

    With those skating skills he deserves to win as he has mastered so so much in three months that people his age learning would take a good year or more.

  • @naturalPaths
    @naturalPaths Před rokem +188

    It’s as if Jane and Chris have teed Nile up for joining a touring ice dancing team. He is a quick learner, hard worker, and charismatic. He brings crossover skills to the ice, together with an established and growing following. Pursuing ice dance for a time might be good for Nile in so many ways. Thanks to Ash, et al,
    Nile has a strong support team at home to keep his gym business up, running, and flourishing.

    • @debbiethomas3687
      @debbiethomas3687 Před rokem +6

      I would love to think that's the case, and I would love to see it. It might not be competition, except against himself, but he could bring so much to the ice and it would give him a new purpose. I'd hope he'd leave it at the one headbanger though!

    • @Skittl1321
      @Skittl1321 Před rokem +2

      I think he could easily tour in shows as a skater, or get a contract on a cruise ship; but I think he'd have a tough time to be part of an ice dance team just based on his size. He is too limited on how he could lift a partner. But as an ensemble, he has so much to offer.

    • @naturalPaths
      @naturalPaths Před rokem +1

      @@Skittl1321 I agree. That’s being agreed upon, I wonder if his personal draw would not on it’s own bring in enough money (let’s face it) while he because a better skater. Here is a consideration I do Not like, as the world tends to spin out of control. Nile could be integrated in lifts. As his body increases in the necessary muscle mass/‘useability,’ he could lift where he could (it will increase, though not to ‘the standard), and choreography might expand to include. Again, feel free to disagree. Indeed, I’d rather he be excluded (especially if his would not be a longer term goal), were his inclusion be used to further politically correct non-skating goals. 🤔 What about a Special Guest Star status? Again: you and I fundamentally agree!

    As I said in a previous comment, the best definitely won the whole contest.
    Nile looked like a duck on snot the first time on ice but his determination and his will to succeed has led him well and this is a time where he could shine and did brightly.
    Olivia should take some of the credit too, her first time (I believe) and she takes a novice skater to the top of the tree and the podium, she’s as beautiful as she is talented.
    Also awesome to see Nile’s mum (Sally love) and dad as well as Joanna his sister and Ash, one of his best friends there to cheer him to victory.
    Just an awesome family around an awesome guy and I wish them/him all the best for the future.

    As someone who has followed Nile for probably eight years here on CZcams, I am SO PROUD of him. He's obviously an amazing gymnast, son, brother and friend. (His family is so cool and tight with each other). We were all a bit concerned when he got too involved with gambling and partying after he retired, so this feels like a rebirth for him. And he worked so hard for it. Now watch his career soar to even new heights. I just hope he settles down and finds the right life partner for the journey, whether than be Hermione or someone else.

      Same, here! I'm still smiling, ten minutes and 3 views later. I could feel my excitement rising from the beginning with all the pros, and seeing Nile *_fly_* onto the ice on the rope, and with each moment and each incredible movement of their routine. I was cheering out loud and yelled, *_"YESSS!"_* when he did the handstand on poles, followed by the "pommel." There were so many skaters and things to watch, while trying to find and focus on Olivia and Nile doing great feats.
      He and Olivia were so *_in sync_* and *_strong together,_* they fit in seamlessly with the other pros. And the *headbanger?* *_Whoahhh!_* So *daring,* yet I was totally confident in Nile's ability to do it, and the *_nerve_* it takes - plus, knowing he *loves* the *_adrenaline rush_* from taking risks.
      I love how *enthusiastic* the judges were - especially Jayne and Chris - in their joyful expressions, scores and comments.
      What a *_spectacular performance_* by all! Nile has *true grit,* focus, dedication, athleticism, *_showmanship,_* humour and humility. This competition sparked a fire within Nile, 🔥 something he needed, and was confirmation that he could find a _new passion_ that utilizes his athletic prowess and competetive nature. Olivia was a *_perfect match_* as a skater, partner, choreographer and coach - and solid *_friend._* She did some "heavy lifting" - literally, and especially in some role-reversed moves and tricks. Their execution of advanced tricks was always impressive. She must be very proud!
      I took skating lessons as a kid, here in Ontario, Canada and skate occasionally now (50 years later), on outdoor ice, sometimes on a frozen pond amid a cluster of the Toronto Islands on the Lake Ontario shoreline - and I've got to admit, the view of the city from across the inner harbour is sublime. I'm inspired to pull out the skates and hit the ice, after watching this routine (and the whole competition). Good thing it's been cold and snowy here. ❄⛄
      Our national TV broadcaster, CBC developed and aired *_"Battle of the Blades"_* - an ice dancing competition based on *_Dancing On Ice,_* from 2009-2013, with a 5th & final season in 2019. It paired *_pro hockey players_* with figure skaters - and it was fun to watch the guys struggle to learn new, _elegant_ ways to skate with a partner. (No brawls on ice allowed.) 😊 In Season 3, the first woman hockey player competed with the first male, pro ice dancer on the show.
      *CHEERS TO NILE AND OLIVIA!!!* They *_killed it_* this season!

    Why do I feel like they wouldn't let Nile do the axel due to safety reasons? I feel like they killed his dream pretty early on

    Let’s face Nile had such a massive advantage over the other contestants.
