- I love to be at the coast of Norway when the shorebirds migrating. Shorebirds are such cool birds to photograph. But my camera equipment does not like it that much with so much sand :)
This episode I focus on photographing the sanderling. A small wader that breeds in the arctic. Hope you like my video on bird photography with my nikon z9 and 600mm f4.

Very nice. I just grabbed a few nice Sanderling photos this week. But, not as nice the ones you show on the rocks with the water. Couldn't get as close as you did. As was walking up higher along where edge of the dunes & beach meet, saw some sand being shot out of my right eye, (which I really don't see out of) & grabbed a couple as close as the 200-500 would let me get of some Fiddler Crabs cleaning house. Seen all the sand on the bottom of your Z9! You don't bother with the Ground Pod anymore?

Great video again Trond! You just can't not love turnstones. They are life savers, even on a day that no other species wants to cooperate. The ones on my favourite spot (Lauwersoog) are completely used to me and come in very close.

Hermosas fotos del calidris alba, son super confiados siempre que se fotografíen a ras de suelo. Con el plumaje prenupcial están espectaculares y la verdad es que tengo experiencias con esta especie de pararse a descansar a tu lado o delante del parasol del objetivo. Creo y seguramente opines lo mismo que somos unos privilegiados al fotografiar y disfrutar con las aves playeras. Un saludo desde Asturias-españa.

Hi Trond! Love your videos! In one video you used Nikon z8 but after that you went back to NIkon z9. Why? Nikon z8 is smaller and not so heavy. I have some planes to buy z8 but maybe z9 is better?
Hi Steve! I love the Z8 and has the same performance as the Z9. But for me it came down to better battery, and since I do a lot of video this is important. I can use a battery grip on Z8 but then the weight will be around similar. And I like the auto capture update Z9 has. I guess Z8 will get it some day tho.

Very nice photos, but all that sand on the body and the lens can't be good, I cringe every time you put your lens hood down in the sand. Give your lens a break, rest it on a hat or your bag.
