are they gonna look for new jobs on Glassdoor now?
Listen, I work in tech, we are bloated with people who have no REAL tech skills AND are paid waaaaay too much. I dont feel too bad for some of them, if i see my peers make another "day in the life of, where they brag about the menial PO job or Test case writing job, blah blah" im gonna be sick, they can find a job like a regular person. I am one of them, i am on top of my kills, I do boring work that pays money and I learn the new skills as soon as I can. I am not above my work and my station in life and neither are they, tech is a good industry still and AI is an opportunity not a death sentence, Do the work!
Airlines said the tech boom is over. I was one of them travelling client sites. Tech companies have nothing show in pipeline apart from AI whose source is very unreliable.
All the tech workers can go to McDonald's. They are hiring
You'd think that most of the people working in the Austin tech scene are qualified young kids because when I applied multiple times a year to a FANG company I finally got in 2020 as I matched the skills they were looking for which was basic boring work. If that's the case then I am under selling myself and should network more with dirt bags because clearly I thought my competition was fierce lol
@@infini.tesimo I think we are aligned on this, I too got into one of the Large Tech companies and it took forever, I had to work hard and pay close attention to the skills that companies are going to need. That's how working works, I sell my labor for what its worth, in order to drive up the price, i gotta have something to sell. Learn a Skill!!
The sad irony of this is that indeed is the place where you go to find jobs and it's now firing people who are a part of this whole job vision. That's so sad. These same people now will have to probably use the same company to find a job.
Why do you need that many people for a jobs website. Sounds like they still have too many people.
Tech isn't just a website lmao
I think their regular format and filters revisions were way too often.. Like any diversity opinion will be applied with very little added value. Secondly, they must have used behavioral science which again not sure it is the approach for a job site..
Indeed isn't just a "jobs website"...... It's a website, an app and a business. It has a custom built search engine, an advertising platform, millions of resume's and personal info so it needs very good security, it's one of the most popular sites so tons of people will try to hack it 24/7, etc. To make all of that work flawlessly every day of the year, you need a lot of extremely skilled people. It's not like they just created a Wordpress website. There's hundreds of databases containing TONS of data that need to be built and configured in such a way that they're all easy to maintain and work together.
Think of it like a house. You need an architect to design it. You need an interior designer. You need a team of builders. You need electricians, plumbers, etc. It's not just "hey lets put up a website".
Job sites sell job postings...when business is bad for them that only means one thing. Save your money, step 1 is new job postings slow to a crawl, step 2 is companies doing mass layoffs.
Ironic.
Very. 😂😢
We all are about to be entrepreneurs…
Yep like the self-made individuals during The Great Depression. They survived those times because they learned how be more resourceful with less. I still see that "Not everyone is meant to be an entrepreneur" meme flying around these days. Someone has to start that business that will then hire more people. We entrepreneurs just as much as entrepreneurs need employees.
@@JocMiles yup, I’ve been Slowly building my business on the side for several years, taking what I’m learning at my job and duplicating it on the side while getting rid of the things that aren’t working at my 9-5.
Making for a tighter and leaner operation.
Most of what we are doing everyday can be done on a smaller scale but it takes years and you really have to start as soon as possible…
@@Imjusttryingtotellu You're absolutely correct and you got it! You don't have to be a full-time entrepreneur, but having a sense of being able to use your skills outside of a job is what's going to set ppl apart from the crowd.
@@JocMiles Thanks! It certainly feels rewarding even if it’s just a couple steps every time ✨
Nope just hire and agency in India at 1/6 the cost, perfectly legal same work and save the money. All tech companies are doing now they didn't downsize they just reallocated the workforce internationally. A good indication is looking at the stock price and yearly and quarterly estimates, they are able to stay efficient in sectors throughout the year.
Maybe people should stop calling it a firing. It’s called a layoff which includes a severance a firing normally does not.
Are they similar to the protectors at UT Austin?
How can a company that runs a job listing site justify 10,000 employees. Thats just bonkers. Remember the '90's when Craigslist wqs run out of a basement and was one of the most popular websites
It's a global issue, tech companies should be taxed higher
It's American. India can't find enough people. It sucks as employers can go anywhere in the world to pick the cheapest employees but people can't move to India to save money
@@timgibney5590 I live in India, and I have lived in many countries. Due to advancements in AI , companies are laying of people globally. And ironically, I work in the same domain. I have been out of job since a few months now, had an offer from England, but I can't move there just for the money. Basically, it doesn't matter where you move to, companies will pay you as per purchasing power. Disparity is a global trend now. Capitalism is not perfect, it's driven by greed.
Indeed sucks.
Exactly I swear they exploit their users selling personal information
Kinda. That's how I landed the best gig of my life. Now currently working on my second best gig as a result of Indeed.
My friends work at samsung
Just learn to code.. Am I right?
Yikes!
ai doing its job
"The Federal Reserve System is not Federal; it has no reserves, and is not even a system at all. But rather an international criminal syndicate."- Eustace Mullins.
Props to tech workers. However, the bottom level tech workers are the fast food workers of Silicon Valley.
They are a dime a dozen.
AI is coming.
"Trimming the fat"
That's what they get for posted fake jobs on the website.
We are seeing more foreign customer services…. Pretty much America is saying work for the government or sign up for welfare… time for government to control everything unless trump is back
The irony

Due to AI, I am afraid these jobs are lost forever. They are not coming back.
Learn to mine.
how can tech be the fastest growing when its the fastest to layoff....?????...bone heads....
Lol people will just have to accept that you can no longer afford a middle class lifestyle off a tech job because of the instability. I never saw tech that way. I came from warehouses so I know how to live with less. That tech salary would be going towards cash flowing investments rather than lifestyle improvement any day of the week. That's how you have a successful tech career imo.
Ironic
Oh the irony
We heading for a recession
Tech workers have been overrated and overpaid for over a decade. I don't feel bad for them.
Biden’s America
Still better than orange monkey’s unemployment rate in 2020.
your rude
*you're
Biden and JPowell said America’s economy is Strong 💪 🤨🧐🤫🤫🤫
Yes, it's strong. It's stronger than all other advanced economics in the world.
All the tech workers can go work at Taco Bell and McDonald's. They're hiring.
Oh wow ur Rude and Putting them down. ANY JOB LOSS IS TERRIBLE. THEY HAVE spent thousands on their education. U have compassion issues.
@@JesusISKingNoMatterWhat and they can go to Taco Bell and McDonald's.
@@JesusISKingNoMatterWhat they can swallow their pride and take themselves to Taco Bell. Maybe they can learn some useful skills. Like cooking.
Tech and college degree crybabies always make the news - meanwhile people who didn't finish college have double the unemployment rate and we have had a mass influx of illegal economic migrants but those people get told its totally fine and actually good for them.
