As Kitty's recommendations:
-As healer, Well of Precognition is a really, really good choice to use instead of Well of Senility since it gives 1 stack of stab on use, 3 pulses of aegis and also some endurance at the end on top of the healing from All's Well That Ends Well. But if you need some specific utility like Portal or Feedback, use that instead on that slot.
-If you don't need super-massive cleanses, you can use Blurred Inscriptions instead of Restorative Illusions to buff the signet to give Distortion to self (and Aegis to allies) when activating the Signet.
For the choice of utility Signet, you can use Signet of Illusions like Muk did to recharge shatters instantly to get another round of those boons at 40s cooldown OR you can use Signet of Inspiration that extends boons by 3 seconds (with Blurred Inscriptions) and Distortion on self+Aegis on allies at 14s cooldown. (Can result in ridiculously high aegis uptimes, pretty guaranteed 100% on most boons when combined with all else heal chrono has and also about 15% uptime on boons from your Boon-DPS friend, allowing them to use more offensive build).
-Monk Relic is pretty standard and good if swapping weapons but if you want to optimize healing while retaining the ability to also give Swiftness, you can use Febe Relic instead and camp Rifle for big heals and boons! 😸
And for clarification: on top of using Rifle 4 to generate clones through phantasm, it's also your big Alacrity/Quickness skill (depending on which trait you choose) with shatters being the other Q/A source.
I'd take mantra of concentration for stability. Well of precognition is only self stab + aegis; aegis does work for allies but not the stability.

I've been really liking heal chrono but it definitely feels like its full power level won't be released until rifle is. It's a very usable healer but still a little bit stressful because right now it's still relying on so many delayed effects.
I definitely recommend replacing Senility with Precog unless you have high CC needs, pulsing aegis helps a lot in mitigating blockable damage coming out.
I tried Heal Chrono running a similar build to what you did with Full Harrier and Managed to Heal All Fractal CM's + T4's with little issues. We are a very experienced fractal static but it was nice having Aegis, Stab and Condi Cleanse on Demand. I was running Sword/Focus + Staff.
The day prior I had a Staff Berserker healing for us in CM's with a similar situation.
I'm loving these new options and opportunities.

I just really hope they really think about making it viable for Mirage. A bit of work on the ambush with Alac and might be pretty fine to use. Even camping on double rifle because if you equip jaunt and trait clones on deception skills you will not be as starved on clones methinks.
The rifle right know seems like a Chrono only weapon.
Maybe they should keep it simple and just add alac to the ambush skill?
I can imagine virt rifle heal being way more useful in zergs for wvw considering not needing clones

@@marthdaeglin both would be reasonable. Hell, Chrono by themselves can do all roles, there's no reason for Mirage not to do 3.
@@CuriousMoth The trait you should take for it has to make your dps dogshit for it to be viable. Better to limit the access than deal with the whole stuff that might end up affecting people that don't care for alacdps roles.
I love the idea of Chrono healer, and the rifle is also fun from the limited play I had with it.
I would recommend signet of the ether as a heal skill, it resets all your phantasms skills which means more clones and more shatters
I'm mixed on rifle, I really am enjoying heal Chrono and once some of the skills are tightened up, it seems like it will be a pretty good weapon for that build which I'm glad about but on the flip side, I wish they made changes to the ambush and maybe some traits for Mirage to make heal Mirage feel good. I'm not a huge fan of a weapon coming out as the only big new thing for the class and only one spec is gonna get much from it.

I enjoyed rifle mesmer. I did a similar build, but full celestial. I went staff for the swap. Looking forward to rifle mesmer.
I think the rifle is very well-designed, has reactive elements, lots of variety and covers its bases. Crazy to think they can produce something of this quality but engi still got monotonous trash shortbow.
it looks like they did mesmer first and while doing engi they realized they did same thing, so they HAVE TO change to something different and boom...
funny that you call it monotonous, while at the same time, every necro spec, in every game mode is spamming the same skill with their Overpowered staff.
The problem with engi is the numbers and the animations ( most likely), not monotony.
Becouse if that's the case, then i call all of you hypocrites for not saying the same for necro staff.
@akhsdenlew1861 Necro staff isn't used as a primary weapon set anywhere. It's used as a swap for utility.
Engine shortbow has a very similar design, which would be fine on any class except Engineer because they all get weapon swap (ele gets 4x the number of skills, so not counting that).
@@snakeman830 Engi has like 4 F skills, and tons of utility kits, holo has the holo mode as well, Mech has the pet, scrapper is just a nade spam class..... he can afford a utility like weapon like necro staff.
Engi has way more skills than most classes except maybe Ele.
So the no weapon swap excuse is very weak.

Well I just recently been repurposing my mesmer for a more supportive role , chronomancer althought I wanted to be heal so when i heard about the rifled i was flored. Now the real struggle is getting another set with stats and runes... Unfortunately I dont have any legendary armor yet and I dont really like using exotics, too much inventory management for me. Can't wait to see something more elaborated for healer chronomancer.
I can see using staff or scepter for opener. Warlock into retreat the chao storm into chaos aura weapon swap to rifle CS hit all the utilities and heal then shatter all your shatter. Ive currently been just running scepter sheild and staff currently just because i don't like using beta character
I missed most of the stream for it because I took a nap but I caught the last strike and it looks interesting. Clone generation needs improved but still looks okay. I still prefer the quick heal berserker because I'm used to the berserker jank and I like the playstyle. I remember you saying berserker feels janky. I know people who have been playing berserker for years say it has always been janky. I remember tea pot saying something like that as well. Hopefully we get some rev scepter today :)
Would a full Celestial rifle Chrono be viable for Raids or laughed at and kicked out of the squad?
This video made me realize a few things 1 i want to play mesmer healer rifle chronomancer quickness and 2 if we ever gwt another set of brand new weapons a type of gun/crossbow or even slingshot is something i want
Since the trait Ego Restoration (Inspiration spec) has no internal cooldown, it's better to put Mantra of Recovery into the slot 6 to aid in clone generation in a rifle-only build. Its cooldown is only 10s (effective cooldown is 6.67s on Chrono's alac and 8s on non-Chrono alac). AND because Ego Restoration also procs on the flipover skill with 2 charges, you can pre-charge Mantra of Recovery before a fight then Rifle 2 -> 6 -> 6 to to instantly get 3 clones for F2. That should be followed by exhausting all of your other Shatter skills, then Signet of Inspiration to add 3s to all of the boons you just gave out (assuming Blurred Inscriptions). Don't hesitate to use Rifle 4 for clone generation when needed, you have the moa Signet on the ready for CC phases. Honestly you don't need to rely on Chrono wells for healing at all while wielding rifle. Rifle 1, 2, 3, 5, Regeneration boon from F2 and Rifle 3 flipover combo are pretty enough. You have the option of bringing Rifle/Rifle and slot Sigil of Renewal in the backup Rifle to supplement some healing too.
heal mantra can actually be extremely good. but its definitely a bit wonky to utilise fully. so, u take restorative mantras. which more then doubles the initial heal output, making it pretty much the same as well heal. but, with quickness u can cast it WAY faster then the mandaNtory 3 seconds delay on wells, is infinitely more forgiving on placement and range, and the two charges u just burn asap even while already doing something else since their insta cast. the thing is, doing this also gives u a total of 3 clones, almost instantly. each clone when summoned heals ppl, and u then have 3 clones for max power shatter. in total its about 10k base healing, over the time it takes the well to finish ticking and doing half that. and u get it back in 7 seconds with alac.
worth mentioning, that while this might seem like a hassle to use, ive tested it a bit ingame without the rifle, since its gonna be a while before we actually get it, and it does fill the need for more reliable burst healing then what well offers, and on a shorter cd.
I suggest mantra of recovery due to its 10 seconds cd (so you just spam it) and I also prefer relic if the flock for a barrier because the class can heal well without monk.
Muk, do you think it would be better to put alac/quick in a core line somewhere rather than an elite line? I really wanted to try and make a vindi heal build with the new scepter, but they dont provide quick nor alac because its tied to Herald and Renegade. I feel like these 2 boons kinda ruin builds that would otherwise be fun to try and possibly make viable. I really wish the devs would address the problem of those 2 boons before they do anything else with the professions.
I vaguely remember the devs claiming that they were trying to introduce classes and builds with 'less need for boons like alacrity', and yet here we are: with classes and builds that give lots of boons, including alacrity. Is ANET still trying to go for that 'new moon no boon' phase, or did they cave and just start reinforcing the builds to give boons more readily now? Been behind on any updates, and Mukluk & Co. could probably fill me in with a lot more meat and less fluff here!

the blast heal is cool, I can't speak for the rest of the skills after all its a rifle suppose to do rifle things ..not support, just when I thought it couldn't get goofier ..
Double rifle for some weapon swap sigils?
Honestly I quite like heal chrono with rifle. Few problems I have with it though:
-Not having a good 2ndary weaponset to use besides maybe staff for the 5 & Chaos aura (and chaos aura being kinda garbage 66% of the time)
-Basic attack healing is kinda eh, would be nice if u ally target to focus heal someone in specific the heal would be s tronger.
-Phantasm being purely CC feels off because you wanna spam it on cd to upkeep clone generation for alac/quick but it literally doing noting unless there's a breakbar. Would be nice if the phantasm could have a flip skill where 1 is more supportive & the other is the CC.
-Portal not being useful at all. Would be nice if downed players in the portal area get forcefully ported (of they could choose portal when downed) and if you portal a living player you got a heal on them or if you portal a downed player they get like 5% res for a few seconds or so.
If they changed the portal honestly i'd be very happy already. Chaos aura being more reliable would be good too. Also would be nice if they didn't lock Mirage's Alacrity to just staff but put it on ANY ambush but give each weapon a unique additional effect.
Conclusion : Muk consider his clone as "short of a pet"
I mean, with this build you have the clones for mere moments before shattering them so I think mesmers consider their clones pets in the same way that Pita considers pets pets.

i've heard a LOT of doomsaying about mesmer rifle but actually seeing it in action makes me excited again, now i just.. need to level my mesmer...
I would GUESS that most people disappointed were hoping for a DPS weapon, and this is definitely support. But as a support enjoyer I found it fun, and I'm not even a mesmer main.
This seems like a fun support weapon and all but I was really hoping to finally get a good two handed weapon for solo PvE stuff or pvp. I feel like Mesmer elite spec weapons were always a bit uninteresting compared to others, except axe, I love that weapon. I hate dagger, it's boring and borderline unusable in pvp, shield is ok but it's just nothing special compared to the rest of that cast and now rifle is support... Maybe one day I'll get my wish of DPS power shortbow Messmer. Would be so cool with virtuoso.

Never understood why make alac and quickness fix at one class.
Here on the chrono its made better but not good because it takes two traits but at least you also have in this line the more damage trait for dps.
The nice thing is that you have better alacrity useage.
But the chrono is the class that get always overworked either people wine because of mesmer and pvp or because mesmer sucks in pve.
I hope they change the Rifle's Phantasm it just seems very out of place. They should have swapped the Ambush ability and the Phantasm's ability so the Ambush is a sniper shot that stuns and the phantasm shoots out the flamethrower. That or make it so it can target an ally and shoot them with a bursty heal

I copied his build when I played it! I did a run on quick heal zerker and another on alac heal bladesworn.
It was interesting, and definitely viable, but it played so radically differently than any other support I wasn't a huge fan of it. (purely talking about my own enjoyment here)

Since chrono gives alacrity to itself by shattering, the alacrity uptime is inflated when using the Stretched Time trait. Worst case scenario is that you'll have to use Signet of Ether to upkeep the alacrity uptime for others, but seeing as you can upkeep 100% alacrity on yourself by shattering on just rifle, maybe you can get it 100% on others as well. but it's hard to tell without a friend to afk beside me lol
It's not inflated, the GM trait makes the other trait (self alac) be shared on allies and overall the numbers for alac (sum of both traits) and quick (just the gm trait) are exactly the same. The only difference is that alac has a SHORTER duration on the chrono (master tait 3) : so it's actually deflated :)

Mesmer rifle should be way cooler than this. Mesmer could have skills like "Firing Squad"- a squad of clones with rifles surrounds you and slowly closes in. If you don't dodge out and they manage to reach you- you get hit with a well on that spot. A skill called "sniper" a clone takes a up a sniper position somewhere close by (preferring cover like bushes or trees) and starts firing on your opponent. This could have been so good but they made it... weird.....
Disagree, they had the intention of making this a support weapon and pulled it off very well. The last thing mesmer needs is another 1200 range power weapon.
You won't convince me that slotting a rifle as a "support" weapon isn't weird. A rifle is meant to blow a hole clean through someone. It's a big, powerful gun. It doesn't make any sense even if they announced it as their intention beforehand. @@CountDusk
And greatswords are definitely meant to fire lasers across battlefields, glad ANET got that one right at least.
That is all magic and illusion. Magic users use swords to cast magic, even Gandalf wielded a sword. Magic users in other games use swords and daggers to channel magic as well. That is consistent with magic user class fantasy across the genre. Besides, who doesn't love to shoot a large laser out of a giant sword? @@CommissarRage-jb9se
