Man, that Columbus rebuild is one of the most disastrous I've seen.
They rebuild the banking acount of the owner .... :P
I feel bad for Monahan, deserves a better team.

@@Rammmer I like what the Habs have brewing. Hopefully, they'll be playoff bound in '25.
As a Finn I always had a dream to see Laine in the Habs and now it really happened. Montreal is a mythical place for the Finns because we recognize it as the Mecca of Hockey. I'm super excited! Laine seems to be super excited as well
Not to mention one of the all time great Finns, Saku Koivu. ❤
I’m so happy to have this talent with us. I know how much you, Finns, value hockey and his history in Quebec and Canada. I m confident he ll be happy with us. Finns and Quebecois match very well.
I'm still struggling to accept this as reality, and never knew Finns saw Montreal that way. His Day 1 interview had him say he wanted to come back to a city where hockey matters, and he seems to be doing better mentally. Could be a big year, and if it is THEN a bunch of people will be surprised... not me. What. A. Shot.
If this guy stays healthy and stable between the ears, no doubt he's part of the NHL elite players. Remind you Laine is only 26 yo.
what health issues does Laine have?
@@Bet-vx3fg various. Very injury prone.
He can be raving mad and get 80 points
This will be one of the best trades of the hughes/Gorton regime… holy hell this is great… he’s going to score like crazy
Seem like every year Hughes come out with a banger trade
If he stays healthy.
already prefer him over bergevin
of mtl canadian history too
Bret Kulak to edm for a 2nd round pick. That 2nd round pick is now Lane Hutson :)... and those Monahan's trade... we got 2 first round pick for Monahan
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA SO EXCITED TO SEE HIM PLAY HOLY SHIT
Nick Ehlers?
Dach, Laine and Slaf... thats over 600lbs of Canadiens to deal with!!! With scoring touch.
mts will probably keep slaff with suzuki and caufied'´

Mario Armia and Patrick Laine the two headed finland monster !!
Yessss mario & patty 🙌🙌
HAHAHHA hockeyjunkie fan huh ?
Finland Party
Hahaha! Mario Armia, the 18 yo rookie!!
Man, Laine's energy is off the charts! 🎉 I can't wait to see how he vibes with the team! Plus, those goals are just a sneak peek of what he's capable of. Let's hope he lights it up in Montreal! 💥
if he can score 40 in Winnipeg he may score 80 in Montreal!
If he outscores Matthews next year they should build a statue of him and Hughes/ Gordon, anything is possible @@zanatural
Laine being the number 2 behind Matthews was destined to be in Montreal eventually, the pressure just went up in Leaf Land. Atlantic Division is on notice!!
Leafs fans are familiar with laine when he was a Winnipeg jet they had quite the underrated rivalry
He has more potential than anyone else in the NHL right now.
When you add up goals from his first and second seasons, no one else scored as many goals during that period.
And the craziest part is that six years before that, he was still a goalie. He switched from being a goalie to a skater at age 12, and in six years, he became the best goal scorer in the NHL. Something happened after that, but he will return to the top.
WOOOOOOOOOO WELCOME LAINEEEEEE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS IS AMAZING WOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOO
God I hope he does well there. So nuts how much power he gets on those one timers, even when he doesn't wind up and take a clapper.
It's like if he's got a laser shot. Verry precice🎯
6’5 with that kind of skill, ridiculous! It’s now up to him to make the magic happen.
Kent Hughes 🧑🍳🧑🍳🧑🍳🧑🍳
@@user-yg1dg6xm2g Major fail xD. Lol dude, are you a colombus fan or toronto maybe? There almost no risk, we also got a second. It's 2 years. He has huge upside. And we gave about nothing. And the habs have a much better room than colombus. Mental illness problem does not equate attitude issues, you are probably talking about something you know nothing about.
@@foktoppe Sorry, when I commented, I hadn't even seen the full details of the trade. I was just upset that we got Laine, knowing about his baggage. Now that I see what we gave up for him and that we got a second-round pick as well, this trade is absolutely amazing! Way to go, Hughes and Gorton. Whoo-hoo!
@@foktoppe I'll have to disagree with that based on my knowledge and experience: 'Mental illness problems do not equate to attitude issues...' But that's a topic for another day.

GO HABS GO!!! WELCOME TO MONTREAL PATRICK!!!
go habs go
insane holy shit!
If that second line can put it all together, GM Hughes will look like quite the genius. Buying low on three former first round picks in Laine, Dach and Newhook who each have their own development (Laine: overall game/ consistency outside of offense, Dach: health, Newhook: continued progression) can pay off immensely but that's a big if to hope to happen.
i didnt expect that jordan harris value was that verry hight to obtain an elite player .. I had patrick Laine in my hockey pool last years and on his first season rookie. Always have trust on him, even if mattews was ahead of him. A sniper shooter like that is verry rare in the doay NHL hockey.. I'm so happy and looking foward for the rest for the HABS. fans that not verry know hockey wil love him
He is a player who needs to show off and enjoys silencing the doubters.
First game and the puck goes to the top corner😎
Hockey got exciting again💎
Finalment! -- miaowmiaow(tabarnac).
His personality is made for big market like Montreal, he'll enjoy the attention big time.
Are you Finnish?
@@jacquesc3166 Yes
@@Aasiantuntija We don't know much about his personality, other than Scheifele & Wheeler seemed to want him 'out' in Winnipeg after a while. Did Laine change anything in his game, or was it maybe Wheeler who got jealous of Laine's 1st line ice time?? Habs don't have any brash/cocky leaders like Scheif & Wheeler.
@@jacquesc3166 I didn't follow him that much in Columbus, because their whole organization is so un-interesting, one of the least interesting teams in league. Feel like he was injured alot, lost his dad and lost his fire for the game, understandable.
Scored many clutch goals in Liiga playoffs to help win Tappara their championship.
In U20 they won championship and he was part of the MVP line of the tournament, scored clutch goal in Final game to start third period, also other clutch goals in tournament. In Jets they didn't win as a team, but he sure made an immediate impact on the whole league. Then got traded to Blue Jackets, after all that winning, and his personal losses, was dumped to the LEAST interesting org in the league. Nobody was talking bout him anymore, before that he was a superstar.
In juniors, 16years old Laine gave middle finger to his coach and there's also rumours what he said in the moment, in Hlinka tournament, and he was sent home during tournament. He was dissapointed of his ice-time and his effort level. But this shows the base of his personality: Temperament
Every team before CBJ had 600% more interest level than Columbus, U20 home tournament they won everyone was following, he was teen star in Tappara and everyone in Finland knew him, In Wpg whole league was talking bout him. "Rivaling" with Matthews early on.
Temperament people need that pressure from outside to perform better, he wants all the attention. And from what I've seen from interwievs now, he's matured alot. Want's to teach his younger peers. Now he's engaged with his beautiful girlfriend, got away from the nhl assist program, entering his physical prime years. Got to Montreal, where everybody follows the team.
I think he'll play his best career games in Montreal, and I couldnt wait more until the season starts.
@@jacquesc3166 He's got temperament nature, so I think that would fit to Montreal atmosphere and he's always performed better in a place with "higher stakes":
Played almost gpg through juniors u16-u20
At 16years was thrown out during Hlinka tournament, because he gave middle finger to his coach (was not happy with his ice-time and own effort level)
Got thrown to Finnish division 1 (Mestis) and didn't perform any good, and seemingly wasn't happy playing there.
U20 WC Championship (home tournament) and part of tournament MVP line, scored many clutch goals in this tournament, also in final 3rd period tying goal.
First full Liiga season with Tappara, won championship and was playoffs mvp (atleast imo, not sure official), many clutch goals in playoffs
Got drafted, went straight to NHL and became a league superstar immediately. Everybody knew him and he was talked about alot, like in Finland before.
So until now Laine is USED TO winning in places, where people are interested about him.
Then got dumped to the least interesting team in the whole league. Was injured alot, and his interest level in Finland was -10000000000000000%, he was kind of forgotten even here in Finland.
Lost his dad during CBJ times, and went to NHL player assist program. Got engaged to his beautiful wife, and has mentally grown alot, what I've seen from recent interviews. Wants to teach others now,
and wants to be that example to others. Lets just hope he hasn't lost his temper nature.
What I mean is that temperament people usually need that fire from outside, to give them that last final push.
I can see similarities in his situation (to his good years) more now in Montreal, than in Columbus, where nobody is interested about their team.
Personally I think that it's impossible not to have problems with team chemistry, if there's 20+ adult men in a team. It's coaches job to make the team work together. I don't know about Jets locker room that much. If they "bullied" Laine, it would've been Maurices job to end it. Jealosy is real, even with millionares, that I know.
I was already hyped because of the Demidov highlights and now i am overly hyped.
Great trade for habs. Big winger, can score, Fit for 2yrs, get a pick, trade an extra D, they have the cash, if it doesn’t work you got that pick, and have 5 less big contracts in 2yrs so you can sign someone else, or if it works, keep him
Mes trios seraient
Laine - Suzuki - Slafv
Newhook - Dach - Caulfield
Anderson -Dvorak - Armia
Gallhager - Roy - Harvey Pinard
A player who is welcome to the canadien
Nice goal
Montreal will be on fire
Il va aimer scorer a mtl
Fleece City … let’s Goooo Patty !!!
I hope the best for Laine, MTL is a tough market. We hold our players to a higher standard. Just work hard man. We'll appreciate it
He gets along or his NHL days are over. Pretty simple. So expect a very impressive Laine
Sounds threatening LOL! But yeah, he knows it's a "second" second chance and there's a young group of forwards in Montreal. He'll fit right in.
UN joueur .
Great move!
Yessir Miller!
"Trades are hard", qu'y disait.
Habs take a step further in their rebuild
2nd PP for Caufield.
quooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I dont follow hockey anymore, should we be excited for a player that has basicly played 2 seasons in the last 4 ? What's the injury?
I swear to god...
Patrick laine just 26 years old btw what a deal
@joncafe there is a reason why his stock has fallen so low. He has a lot of issues and a high cap hit. At least it's only for two more seasons.
Pas un gros risque si il floppe
I haven't even seen the details of the trade yet. I'm so upset that we got Laine, I haven't even bothered to look. I hope you're right because he comes with multiple red flags.
Laine-Dach-Slaf - 6'4 line
@darrenpinard1658 sounds good in theory, but all of those guys has missed a ton of time in the past couple of seasons.
Non...

Awn yeah, MSL is cookin
Canadien playoff run this season?, I can't read french I think I'm wrong
Caufield-Suzuki-Slafkovsky / Laine-Newhook-Dach 🤩😍🤩😍🍿
He can shoot no doubt. He needs to get back in shape even if it takes 6 months. His contract doesn’t fit in the mix but we can handle it if he’s healthy and hungry.
It's not like its for the next 4-5+ years, only 2 left
he trained a summer long with cleveland browns Jerry Jeudy and with other nfl players in florida. so he's in shape. and with nhlpa mentally too
