If by automated you mean power assisted winches/furlers/etc... the yes. But there is an awful lot of work required in keeping a 115' sailboat going for an extended trip beyond sail handling. I'd say it's impossible for single handed and very difficult for a couple. Just washing down the deck would be a 1/2 day job. God forbid you have to scrape the hull.

No. When you have to yell across the cockpit to a crew member, it is too large. When you have to yell across the salon it is too large.
when a human cannot hoist the main sail, it is too large. Also, it is too fat. No.

Always at an angle, sitting on the loo, drinking your coffee, you're always at an angle. Only for the ultra rich day sailors. Sorry, give me a catamaran all day long for less money. Ever tried sleeping at a steep angle? Cooking? making beds? cleaning up? always being on standby? A cat would cruise at similar speeds almost level and easy on everyone.

Man up princess. You get used to it. Actually i agree, Cats are better for cruising around the islands, shallow draft, you can pull up on the beach. But they're not so great in rough seas, for bluewater sailing give me a big monohull, plus that boat is pure class.
