Carissa, Iwan & Frankie decided one night over a bottle of wine that moving from North Wales to Portugal would be a good idea. Within a month they were on the road to Portugal to find the perfect piece of land to call their new home. We picked up Albi the cat along the way. Thanks Neil, can’t believe it too! But glad to be on the other side of it. Yes I think we did super well with the car, it feels really good to drive too, although getting used to driving on the left of the car, have pinched the window a few times looking for the gear stick 😆

I'm so sorry to hear that you both got the dreaded C virus please look after yourselves as it takes it out of you it will be lovely to seeing your dear mum, when my daughter went down with it I used to get her shopping and leave it on her front doorway,ha ha so that's what mum's are for as I said please take care of yourselves all the best 👍 x

So sorry you have been sick. YUK. Frankie seems unaffected. lol. I didn't see Diogo. Is he poorly as well? Or just feeling sympathetic with you being so sick. Don't stress yourself while you are sick. That virus is scary. Before the pandemic, the village I live in had 3,000 residents, now it has 2,000. Mind you, the village is made up of mostly elderly. Love your videos, Hope the virus leaves you soon.
It’s a big pill to swallow being reliant on others 2 yrs ago moved to Tasmania and had to isolate for 2 weeks learnt internet banking and had my new neighbours shop and put on the front yard , new home was x rental so good clean for 2 wks …. Domestics burn, and there was very little covid cruel part was 2 days before were no iso requirements and could have wandered the country spreading disease with the greatest of ease , 10 minutes before the release from purgatory i went to a take away took photos of fish n chips and a drink fridge the dogs and I made pigs of ourselves , it’s cruel 300kms away Melbourne was in lockdowns for 2 x 6 month periods x friends totally irrational , clearly mental health a very real problem ,sorry it has touched our off grid family hope you get better quickly place is looking very orderly…… vines etc xxoo👍❤️❤️❤️🙏

I find a fork easier to get roots out with, at least to loosen soil as it'll go between roots so you can get deeper underneath before levering a plant out. Spades are good for chopping roots & digging holes. Frankie's pretty good at hole digging & earthy nose getting!
Iwan's doing a great job of the wall & cleaning up the vines, well done.

I know the feeling, I've been on holiday the last two weeks of December, first week of January "bingo!" got the uninvited guest, two weeks added onto the mix, got better and back at work for the last two, still feel a bit iffy on my chest, but not lacking breath or anything.
Hope you get better and the show must go on, others haven't add that chance, lets give it a good go at the rest of our lives.

It is so typical that when something goes wrong it happens in twos or threes! Poor you. If the generator needs fixing does this mean you have no electricity? Have you consired solar panels as there is so much sun in Portugal.

Hi guys, get better soon. Those vines are old, it's a job getting them up. Sharpen your spade it will cut the roots much better. Nice car,good bargain. To hire a car is very expensive,so this year its cheaper to buy second hand,tax/ insure it. Than to spend 4000 £ for a few weeks. Stay safe, stay hydrated too.

Bummer about getting the dreaded C but maybe having it over is a good thing. I was exposed a few weeks ago and spent a week isolating but tested negative. It is strange not being able to go where you want when you want. Hope you are all on the mend and will have some good time with your Mum! See you next time.

I forgot to say, earlier, that considering the stresses you guys went through recently, it is hardly surprising that your resistances are so low. You need to take good care and have low expectations so that your energies slowly regenerate.I recall that when I had to leave our house (divorce) I had the strangest reaction, that being was that suddenly I no longer EVERY SINGLE DAY had a long list of jobs to do.
Good job Iwan you really got a lot accomplished , being on the sick list sure didn’t slow you down. Enjoy your visit with your mum Carissa that will be good medicine after the Christmas disappointment . Good video . ❤️
SO sorry you both poorly, had it as well, the after fatigue is a bummer, just take a vit D, zinc you have oranges so plenty vit C, my tummy was awful so I drank copious amounts, peppermint and ginger tea with tea spoon of honey for energy, rest up well, take regular breaks💜🤗
💛 thanks for the tips, I hadn’t thought to make ginger tea I don’t why, it’s my usually go to when sick. Sorry you had it too, hope you’re feeling fully recovered. The fatigue is frustrating! But now I’m spending more time sitting on the sofa drawing so I guess there’s always a silver lining ☺️💛

We’re quite close to the dam! We see them hanging out with all the local sheep a lot, they like to stand on their backs, it’s really funny to see x

Iwan is such a grafter in this video. Amazing! One thought I had, seeing you bent over mixing concrete. Why don't you build a simple platform 30-40 cm off the ground so you can work on that without so much strain on your backs? Just something very simple, to make the heavy jobs just that little bit easier on you. Or if it was something like a simple cart, you could move it around to where you're working on the land.

I had no symptoms with my covid, it was a week after my 2nd vaccination soooo... hope your feeling better, Iwan has fully recovered and Carissa is 95% now.

If you have received a positive test result, have recovered afterwards and have no new or more serious complaints, retesting within 8 weeks is not useful. The test is very sensitive and can remain positive for a long time without being contagious

Maybe the vaccination helped it not be so severe, I caught it a week after my vaccination and had no symptoms
