Satirical storytelling from Buffett at it’s finest. My first song ever I head of buffet was in my dads Chrysler Lebaron as a 6 year old fumbling around with one of his cassettes tapes by myself and found a live from Jacksonville tape, popped it in the tape deck and heard the song “gods on drunk”. I’ll always remember being very confused and wondering, pondering about that great song about a bear I did not understand at the time what it was about but, enjoyed it so much.
I was exposed to the album Changes in Latitudes via my brother's girlfriend. She lent him a number of vinyl albums (Led Zeppelin, Rod Stewart, Crosby Stills and Nash,) virtually all were rock, but this one opened up my imagination and within a week I had memorized every line. I abandoned my third year in law school and bought a boat. I have been living on a boat since in Key West.
I first heard about Jimmy in the late 70s i would go to Florida to buy bales of pot a bartender in Ft Lauderdale turned me in to him .
Jimmy Buffett died on Sept.1, 2023, from Merkel Cell Carcinoma at his home in Sag Harbor, Long Island, NY, He was 76 years young. He lived his life like a song. ...never meant to last, never meant to last...See you uptown, JB. Thanks for the memories. FINS UP!

Lost verse of “Margaritaville”
Old men in tank tops
Cruising the gift shops
Checking out Chiquita’s down by the shore
They dream about weight loss
Wishing they could be their own boss
Three day vacation has become such a bore …… wasted away again in Margaritaville 🎼🎼
What could’ve been.
R. I. P. Jimmy 🦜🧉✌🏻😎
Mickey confused himself. The Facebook woman was asking about the "God, I still feel pain / I wish I had some cocaine!" lines. She was acting like this was from some rare concert unearthed by Radio Margaritaville, when it's easily available on the "You Had to Be There" album.
I miss the summer concerts on Boston Common when James Taylor or Carly Simon might walk up on stage for a few songs with Jimmy!! Ah, the “good old days”! 💚☮️🍹🎶🎵🧢🎸🚤🛟🗺
"We are the People our parents warned us about" ~ Jimmy B~
Great interview. First time I have seen him with socks on.
❤ Listen to Tribute song to Jimmy Buffett TIDE HIDE ON by songwriter Dennis Callahan
The Sisters of Mercy and his mom would have been very proud of him.
Yeah James! Travis McGee...up there in Lauderdale in a houseboat...shit when I was 15 I rode my bicycle up from Coconut Grove to see if I could find that damn houseboat!
Good verse got cut out, and important to know for completeness. Candid early career interview, thanks
