Because of you and a few others I took a big 10,000km solo trip across Canada. Camping 11/14 days. While I didn't see everything that I wanted, I know what to do for the next trip. It does get boring and repetitive sometimes. But once you finally get back home in your own bed... You just want to get back on the bike.
    Thanks.

"I will always be a mountain lady", . . ., "and I see hills with trees on them my heart feels so happy". You've been spoiled by living in the Pacific Northwest so long! Few areas can compare. Glad you had such a great day.

The Rockies are FABULOUS when you are in them and not on the interstate highways. I rode US 50 from Cincinnati, OH to the Pacific Ocean in Pacifica, CA in 2016. When I rode through the Rockies I called my wife and told her "If I don't get to go any further it was worth the trip." Just stunning. I'm happy you enjoyed your trip.

On this trip you showed us, your viewers that not everything goes as you plan them. Always save money to emergencies like this one. One of my fears is my bike breaking down. I'm scared of being stuck in the middle of no were. I have roadside assistance but having my Harley towed to the nearest Harley shop could cost me 1k just for the towing. That's a big pill to swallow. But we can't live our lives in fear. The reward is greater than not doing nothing. Thank you for inspiring me to go outside my comfort zone.

When I was 15, my father (a private pilot and single engine airplane owner) and I too a 2 week vacation and flew across the country from Clearwater, FL to Oceanside, CA and back. One of the stops we made was to visit Carlsbad Caverns. We landed at a small airstrip just north of Whites City and walked into town to find a hotel. The owner/manager of the hotel loaned us his car the next morning to drive to the Caverns for the tour. It was a memorable stop on an epic journey with my dad. Thanks for the memories. 😘

I have full faith that you'll be drawn back to AZ and NM in the future. I'd love to chat with you. Just so you know, I have been in all 48 and I can tell you the wind is always there, I guess so long as this beautiful blue ball maintains its orbit.......there will be wind. But I agree it does draw your strength. Loved the video!

The caverns are definatley worth seeing. And White Sands.... Amazing! Totally spoke to the nature lover and my inner geek. And yes, I did know about 82. Rode it in 2020 with my patents.

Cloudcroft is great. Along with all the Lincoln National Forest. The ride from Cloudcroft to Alamogordo is a trip. A fifteen mile ride from an area that has you looking for Ewoks to come attacking from the trees to the open desert of Tatooine, looking out for Jawas and Sandpeople.

Well hello again!! Good to see you back, was beginning to wonder. Enchanted Rock is such a cool place. Kinda surprised you were able to get in. Wind in Texas?? Really?? Haven't noticed it in the last %* years of living here!! LOL!!! Carlsbad is some kinda wonderful isn't it?? If you ever find yourself back in Cloudcroft, check out Dusty Boots Motel & Cafe. Very awesome little local owned motel and even better cafe!!! And make sure you let them know your traveling on motorcycle for a good rate and close to room parking. And yes, i did know 82 was an awesome ride!! While you were in Carlsbad i was sitting here saying "Oh please Amanda, go North to Artesia then West on 82 to Cloudcroft!! You will love it!!!" So glad you did. Did you see the burrows walking around town?? I can also say the mountains do something for me, even tho imma flat lander from Texas. Does the soul good to be in the mountains especially on a motorcycle!!!
    Safe travels!!!!

I haven’t been to Carlsbad caverns and I didn’t know Cloudcraft existed. Both are on my list now! If you ever find yourself back in Kentucky make sure you hit Mammoth Cave national Park, that will blow your socks off too!
How you feel about mountains and trees is how I feel when I return to Illinois and see corn and soy beans! That’s what you grew up with, and it makes you feel like home!

YOu are an inspiration. I just bought a bike after not having one for 20+years. I am looking forward to doing some moto camping. Although I only plan to go about an hour from home and camp a night or two you have still inspired me. My bike isn't fancy but I love it a 2003 BMW F650CS. I am going to get out there and "do the thing". The way you react to the moutains is how I react to seeing fresh bodies of water. I love lakes and riding by them. I bid you peace.

I missed that laugh!!! Hope you've gotten some rest and are in a better place!!! Man, I miss those Texas roads and places... Yeah, nothing like that wind, I fought a 50mph side wind for almost 100 miles last year in New Mexico, just outside of Roswell. That road had NOTHING on it... No houses, no stops, no gas, no towns, no trees, and no traffic. But me, the bike, and the cosmos. And that was enough. Had no idea about Cloudcroft or Hwy 82, have to check them out!

As for the wind at Monahans, that's kinda par for the course. Try it in a hammock strapped to the shade cover. WOOHOO!!! What a ride! Guadalupe Mts Natl Park just down the road the mountain sorta shields you from the wind but it is a lot more popular with campers than Monahans.
