So I just watched a couple of eps from the new season and I would like to know *Where the HELL is Calvin?*
I'm with you where t HELL is Calvin???? It's like they just abandoned Nova & Calvin relationship. I did hear he was back on daytime television. I'm not feeling Queen Sugar without Calvin. js....
Hopefully they address it in the 2nd half of season 2 when it comes back because as good as the season has been I feel this is a huge elephant in the room
Renay Feaster They broke them up when a cop Calvin knew spit in Nova's face because of her articles on the police department . I agree they should have addressed this. Don't just say it, why have him come back at all when they broke up the first time???
I hope he comes back for second half of season 2 or season 3 and make them official no holds bar.
But like how will they explain his absences? Honestly, i'm not even sure anymore because everyone in the show is acting like he never existed. Truly disappointed ...

Damn he’s fine!
Last nights episode hurt a little. I was glad to see Calvin back & a part of me understands Nova’s POV but I still feel like she is sacrificing her happiness. I don’t believe that you can’t be “woke” & still love who you love. She admitted she loves Calvin but then in the same breathe talked about living her people & being there for them. It’s noble. I love that she is there for the people of her community but at what cost to herself.
I don’t know if Calvin will be back but I am hopeful for them because I see a mutual love & respect there. Even if they only remain friends. There is also the fact that they stayed up talking all night. He arrived when it was dark & when he was leaving it looked like the sun was coming up so who knows all that they really talked about.
Okay so I finally watched the episode and *goddamnit* it was a really emotional rollercoaster and well build! I especially loved getting both of their views of where they stand in the relationship *{my heart broke for Calvin}*and how beautifully the conversion was delivered overall ending with a mutual understanding. WOW I honestly got goosebumps. I felt sooo bad for Calvin and god the actor did soooooooo well and heartbreaking but the external effect of their relationship was too strong and I understand that however *their story is far from being finish because I really do believe they are soulmates.* They just both need time to find themselves first especially Nova. She needs to for once put herself before the "cause" and realize her happiness comes first. Thank god for this episode because I feel sooooo alive and yearning for more of their storyline.
I also think that Nova finding out a little about her mother from Charley's mother has an effect on her. She mentioned when she was talking to Aunt Vi that all of her feelings towards Charley's mom came from Aunt Vi & not Nova's mother herself. I feel like since it was mentioned that her mother was a bit of a free spirit type, Nova has some of that in her. It's going to take a while for her to fully come to terms with herself and what she really wants. Calvin has done it with leaving his wife & deciding to live the life he wanted. Nova will have her day, I'm sure. It's just going to take a while as she learns more about her parents/roots & how those things impact the person that she is.
I want more of their storyline too & I don't feel like it is over between them at all but I'm not holding my breath on them getting to this relationship. There is so much other stuff going on but I do hope Calvin is around to stay. I need more of them. They love has so much potential & layers.
