Everybody knows the B2 is the best CAS plane
And it's so complete. It's really finished unlike the F-16C which, if it ever is really done, will be my favorite in DCS :)

Watching you guys fumble around is awesome for my own ego and self confidence in my abilities. "Yeah, I don't even know where I'm going..." and "OK, this piece of runway looks like its long enough, I'm going...."
This is why the A-10 is so survivable, the fight is over by the time it gets there.

it's all about how quickly you can get her in the air when it comes to dcs. punching in waypoints and setting in countermeasures be damned, that all can be done on the way there :DD
my insane person loadout has 42 APKWS and 6 IMAVs. if i want to be a nerd and just throw 6 mavericks at 6 armored targets at once i still have 42 (i use around 14 APKWS when i'm not being a memelord) potential targets that i can kill, and then however many i can slice in half with the cannon. And even when im bringing something more realistic like 4 mavs and a couple of dumb bombs and like one rack of 7 APKWS its still a monster.
whenever i'm in the hornet i just feel like i'm in a disposable but relatively fast and easy to pilot box that i can punch out or die in one way or the other.
when i'm in the hawg i feel like a thicc tough bitch that can eat a bullet in the chest like 'Teddy Roosevelt while still delivering a 30mm speech about how it takes more than a single barrage of AAA to kill a BearHog.
The statement is correct, just the reasoning is not: "The fight is over because(!) the A-10 arrived on scene!" 😇

Your real world experience with weapons management and LITENING pod kung fu really showed. Nicely done.
I used to play A-10 Tank Killer back in the 90s as well as Lock On. The GAU-8 can also overheat. I also lived under Gamecock 1 MOA in SC and saw Warthogs from Myrtle Beach, Shaw, and Pope, on almost a daily basis. I only saw an F/A-18 three times in the MOA. The last time was right after a rainstorm and there were pink clouds at about 1,000 feet AGL. An F/A-18 two-ship came cruising by in echelon formation. It was a thing of beauty. Yeah the A-10C and the Viggen are the two planes where if I don’t fly them for a while I need a refresher course.

a-10 pilots normally just squeeze the trigger for a second. that's 100 round. they put the piclke right on the target when the do it. that way they get most of the rounds on target.

About that debrief....
The Scorpion helmet mounted sight is capable of color, would be cool to see that. Neat to see the AIM-9s on the pods. Target cueing with the helmet mounted sight and high off bore sight capability gives the Warthog some serious bite.
I read where they used to employ the infra-red seeker on the Maverick as a poor man’s FLIR that would display on the old right hand green screen.
The upgraded avionics, data links and MFDs have really upgraded the capability of the A-10. Hope the Warthog can keep flying for a long time.
Had the module since 2011, but did not log much time on it. This latest iteration has me hooked, love apkws.
There's alot to learn about the a-10c, it's been a while since i played DCS but the way i do it is when im flying in from a distance i set all the target's as waypoints starting at a through z, then you can slew your TGP to your waypoint and drop bombs on them quickly with ease, saves you from having to look all over the place. You can use the TGP to set waypoints, i forget the hotkey but im sure someone will know if you ask.

You should get TBear to drive the A10 in DCS and see what he thinks...love to know how realistic the controls and everything is to him. If you think its fun now, wait until you start slaving mavs to the tpod and using the new laser guided rockets! So much fun.

You should bind vr zoom. Also you can slave the mav to a spi from the tpod so you don't have to use the seeker head cam to find a target
What are some tactics you would have to do differently, to make a strafe run in an f16? I know sonic booms have been used as a show of force. Throwing sound at the ground like a punch from god.
What PC you have mover? Those graphics are insane!

1:40 is this about the scorpion itself or an hmd in general? The 16 in-game has the hmd as the jhmcs, although i assume both are "interchangeable" in the 16
Block 30s use the Scorpion. MMC jets use JHMCS.

Mover, join the best A-10 unit in AFR, the 303 FS (WGFS)... part of the 442 FW at Whiteman AFB. I was part of that unit for 11 years before becoming an AGR.

This looks way better than the A10 Tank Killer game I had 30 yrs ago 😂 but I fell in love with the A10 just saw one at an airshow this weekend. I heard about this game I'm gonna have to check it out. Is this in VR? Are you using any kind of flight stick?
Check out the Thrustmaster Warthog flight stick/ HOTAS, it is designed to simulate the real A-10 throttle and stick. Yes he is using VR. You can download DCS for free from the Eagle Dynamics website or from Steam. Free version gives you 2 planes to try out, TF-51 (P-51 with no weapons) and Su-25t (Russian ground attack similar to A-10), all other aircraft must be purchased.

Yeah its a while out they have thrown up some solid untextured exterior models, but no word on a release date etc. They're working on a flood of other aircraft, including the Mig 23, and the F-15E, which will likely be their next release.

I was discussing VR/AR with friends and I realized something that confuses me now: Circa 1990, pilots were having issues with the simulators because they weren't yet using rigs to move the person around in the "cockpit." Their vestibular-ocular mismatch made lots of people nauseated and/or just puke on their lap. Why doesn't the consumer sims create the same vestibular-ocular mismatch for you (you're not in a seat that provides feedback to your body), such that you feel like puking?

The JHMCS is indeed listed as a planned feature for the Viper (it says with HARM TS integration)... I always took this to mean both A-A and A-G functionality.

Just download the free package from www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/world/. It comes with the TF-51D and Su-25t, both of which are great starter planes. However a joystick of some sort is very much recommended.
Hotas and a headtracker or a facetracker should be good.
The A10 is the only plane that you can put the throttle to max and it won't do shit
With the drag improvements that came out with the A-10C II. I'd say it's a little better.

It's nice to see a real life pilot scratching his head at the stupidity of utterly inconsistent switchology on HOTAS and systems... I always wondered, why there are so many differences. HUD symbology for JDAM, CCRP, Gun, SPI/Designation... even the same TGP (Litening II) has a different user interface in different planes. Seems unnecessarily difficult when transition from one aircraft to another... at least to the armchair pilot with his favorite Sim. 😄🤷🏻♂️
I think with all the weapons you got loaded you have to much aft CG!!
