100% the most normal conversation in the south. Seriously though that tornado wasn't going to hit anything. They don't go from 0 to sucking the land flat that fast. It takes a significant amount of time to gather the wind up in cohesive updraft. Every single thing on the ground that blocks the wind can dissolve the updraft and cause it to jump around and lose its footing. If you ever see a "trashnado" in the corner of a building you can play around with this theory by taking some large flat object and slicing it through one side of the cone and it will cause the trashnado to collapse.

And yet people wonder why we still have so many tornado injuries and fatalities... If someone ignores a watch or warning and they get caught up in something, that's 100% on them. Warnings don't do any good when people ignore them.

Impressive video. My Aunt and Uncle live down there in Knoxville. They just told me about the tornado in Sunbright. Thank God that nobody got hurt. Buildings and possessions can be replaced. People are irreplaceable.

Im in Lincoln county TN and we had rotation here a couple hours ago..A question.....is anyone having tornadoes in your area but not hearing the sirens? We have a siren a street over from us that is tested every week but never sounds when theres a tornado in the county.
I'd try & contact EMA think it's state or some county officials to let them know.

Who's the guy on the lawnmower.....the resident storm spotter? Probably could use one considering how close this tornado formed from your place. If not, I guess the guy on the lawnmower probably did not even realize a tornado was forming nearby. Pretty good video!
Maybe he was putting out the warning call, Paul Revere style.
I didn't hear storm warning sirens in the video soundtrack, so it's possible Lawn Mower Guy did not know what was going on up in the sky yonder behind the trees. But he did turn around and head back, so maybe he noticed something (other than that he was getting rained on). The closest tornado to where I live happened before we had warning sirens, and all I noticed (while I was out playing in the back yard after dinner) were some really strange clouds racing over my neighborhood. Meanwhile, five miles away cars were getting flipped and another neighborhood was being torn apart by an F4. One of the un-seriously injured victims recounted that she had just walked into her kitchen and looked out the window when that window exploded in all over her. Neither she nor her husband had any idea AT ALL that there was a tornado right there.
Please pray for them 50 people lost there homes

I grew up in tornado country. Most people think a twister happens when it storms but, they usually form from very hot humid weather when a cool front hits, next thing you know you have a funnel, followed by a storm.

The way they form is eerie.
Yeah I've been studying up a bit on these things and they say many people fall for the fact it might be clear skies right there... But I'm starting to notice a pattern that many form right on the outer edge. Heck, just look at El Reno from all those different angles. You'd swear it was a different storm on all of them.
Crazy! These vortices just look like the one a few weeks ago, the video where the guy filmed it behind the barn etc
My niece lives in Sunbright. I hope she and her family are ok. 🙏🏻

This is what many old people think. The man on the mower probably says it is nothing because a tornado never hits this street. It just goes down by the creek to the hill. So he was just cruising along and going about his business.

I’m glad I live in Washington State, we don’t have to worry about Tornadoes.
It’s extremely safe here. Unless of course another mountain erupts or an earthquake and or tsunami hits, it’s really safe here in Seattle..
