  • OIL PUMP! Lost oil pressure on my 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD. Time to replace it!! In this video I will tear down the engine all the way to the oil pump while the engine is in the truck. I drop the oil pan and expose the pickup tube. I also put the old oil pump on the work bench disassemble it and compare it to the new Melling high flow oil pump. #melling #oil pump #oil pressure

    Easiest way is to go ahead and put your socket and wrench it on the boat and put a breaker bar on your ratchet and run it up under the frame of the truck over by the passenger side front wheel in front of it and then crank the motor over route One quick bump and it'll break it loose easy pie

    So I'm curious could be causing the low oil pressure after I have replaced the oil pump, replaced with the pickup tube , cooler lines, pressure sensor. I'm racking my brain here. All voltage is checked out I swapped the cluster just to see if there was a change still low oil pressure it's stopping me from getting inspection sticker cuz the engine light comes on for low oil pressure. Somebody anybody help me out here

      Could be a cam bearing walking out. That is what ended up being my main problem. Tore the motor down and found it walked out. Fluctuating oil pressure for a few months then bam 0 pressure one morning on the way to work.

    8:04 reason for changing pump

    • @f48films33
      @f48films33  Před 3 lety

      Well I had been watching the pressure for quite sometime as it was having a hard time coming up to pressure in the winter months and throwing a low pressure warning for about 1minute or so. Considering I’m the original owner on this ride and have put 230,000 miles and a lot of $ into it I know it well. I started noticing this about three months before it’s last ride. Then I started to notice a puff of smoke on startup another red flag. This I thought might be a valve seat thing. Now considering I’m in Tahoe working in winter I was all over watching it on the pressure and warmup. Then on my way out one morning it started the same, struggled a bit with pressure again we were at about 19 F on temp outside. She came up to pressure then I rolled out. 10 min in to drive it dropped to 0 on pressure. I hit a turnout and rolled down window. Top end was starting to dry out (valves tapping). I made a call and bee lined it straight home. She never let me down and got me home. I tore it down and went after pump and oring as LS has problems with this at this mileage. I went from 0 to 20 with the new pump but no dice. I chose the pump because it made
      The most sense with the mileage on the vehicle and the symptoms it had.
