Kershaw threw 51 off speed pitches and the Astros swung and missed at ZERO of them. Someone ran a computer sim, and the odds of that happening were 128,061 to 1. So it would take 4266 years and it MIGHT happen again. Just absurd - why even play the game.

Shirlee Bostrom We are not trash. In 2018, we cheated throughout the first half of the regular season. We realized it wasn’t making an effect. We were also dominating on the road too. We got 103 wins that season. In 2019, we never cheated at all and still got 107 wins. We made it to the World Series and took it to 7 games. Call us trash again...

I think it's a tie between this year and last years. Like it was extremely long drought vs extremely long drought, then it was drought vs never. The MLB is probably one of the best sport to have at least one different team going for the title each year.

Jansen and morrow were two of the most dominant relievers in baseball at the time and they also got touched up in Houston

The Astros from 2015 to 2016 struck out the most out of any team in the league and in 2017 struck out the least in MLB with the ssame hitting coach and most of the core players. What Kenneth L is saying is that Kershaw, Morrow and Jansen were dominate all playoffs and the Astros touched them up at home but couldn't on the road even though they cheated both home and road and it's been proven. It even happened in the Yankees series. The Houston Assholes only championship will now be forever tainted and looked at the same way.

Molon Lave - to be fair, EVERYBODY on that team had an 'inability to drive in runs' during the World Series. Ensberg had a fantastic year and was a huge reason why the Stros were even IN the series. The ChiSox pitching was great in that series, too.

I'm not a dodger fan but I gotta tip my hat to the dodgers on how good they did in 2017. Huston was stealing the dodgers pitching signs and it still took them 7 games to beat the dodgers. That shows how good the dodgers were that year.

This World Series was much better than 2016. The only reason 2016 was considered a good series was the tension filled game 7 and high stakes. Aside from that it was very standard, whereas this series featured two improbable comebacks and multiple broken records.

As a Dodger fan I watched this world series with the thought "We got to score every inning because the Astros hitters are too good and they will score every inning" I had a lowkey fear everytime they were ready to hit! smh... I would have imagined the first 5 innings of game 7 were much more stressful for you. Dodgers went through 13 batters with runners in scoring position. Thankfully only one got a hit. I'm a Giants fan and my heart was pounding even when it was 5-0 in the 2nd inning. I hate the Dodgers and am so relieved they lost.
Honestly, even after Springer homered, I still had stress. The 5th and 6th innings were stressful even when we were up by 4. The 9th inning was a sense of hope and I was never content until the last out.
Uh, it was still stressful until about the 8th when it was obvious Morton had it in the bag.
After watching how neither team ever gave up, I didn't breathe easy until Yuli had. the. last. out. in. his. glove.
I'm a lifelong Giants fan. We have 2010,2012 and 2014 Crowns. I still enjoy rewatching Game 7 of the 2012 NLCS when we beat the SHIT out of the Cards. I HATE the Cards.

We Astros fans were pretty impressed with the Dodgers as adversaries too. They clawed and fought just as hard as Houston. Wouldn't have been such an awesome series if both teams hadn't emptied the tanks and left it all on the field.

As a Los Angelino who lived his whole life loving the dodgers, Seeing Vin Scully say "It's time for dodger baseball" and come in from an explosive season, I was heartbroken. It was a incredible series and looking at this again it's just... bittersweet.

The increase in OPS by the Houston Astros from 2016 to 2017: 1B Gurriel .677 -> .817; 2B Altuve .928 -> .957; SS Correa .811 -> .941; 3B Bregman .791 -> .827; LF Gonzalez .694 -> .907; CF Springer .815 -> .889; RF Reddick .749 -> .847; C McCann .748 -> .759. Utility Marisnick .588 - .815 That's an entire lineup with improved OPS from 2016 to 2017. Five of the nine players set career highs that they never topped. It's insane. Nothing like that has ever happened in MLB history. Cheating at such a high level that it isn't even baseball any more. It's some other game.
By contrast, of the regular players on the 2018 Red Sox team, only three improved their OPS over the prior year - Bogaerts, Benintendi and Betts - and only Betts had the best year of his career. Six of the nine regular players actually decreased.

Bregman is one of the best defensive 3rd basemen of this era. So many incredible plays. The one in the ALCS where he threw it right into McCann's glove and the runner slid right into it. Wooow

But, the Royals actually played at Minute Maid very early in the Season, before the cheating scheme was put in place, and KC won 2 of 3, so I don't think you can count the Royals among the victims.

The worst was in the World Series. Just one example, Kershaw threw 51 off speed pitches and the Astros swung and missed at ZERO of them. Someone ran a computer sim, and the odds of that happening were 128,061 to 1. So it would take 4266 years and it MIGHT happen again. Just absurd - why even play the game

@@anthonyurias8121 I don't know much about the cheating of the 1951 Giants. That was 72 years ago, so I'll have to study it. I agree about Bonds' cheating - I think it is unfortunate that Bonds, Sosa and McGwire have all the highest seasons HR totals, but MLB has chosen to allow those records to stand. I do think that the use of steroids is similar to the Astros cheating but one difference is that virtually every Astro on the 2017 team was doing it.

It was number 2 rank, record wise this year vs. number 1. Dodgers played a hell of a game, and I love both teams. Was very difficult to root for just one team.

Astros fan for 6-9 years and I've been waiting for the moment went to two of the games and watched the final one and when we won I was proud and woke everybody up.

The Astros definitely played like the better team, but if you're a Dodger fan you can't help but feel that Games 2 and 5 were choked away. Also the fact that Josh Reddick the former Dodger was on the Astros must sting a little.
Duke Kong Yes, but the fact is the Astros won those games. The Dodgers bullpen was supposed to be invincible. However, the Astros knew that the in order to win the World Series, they had to get to the bullpen, which the D-Backs and Cubs failed to do. The Astros did that. They showed they were the better team offensively and their bullpen was slightly better in the series. Those that don’t really know sports or fans that are afraid to accept defeat won’t admit the Astros won. They’ll say the Dodgers blew it. While that maybe true, the general conclusion was that Houston won it.

A team where (with the sole exception of 40 year old Beltran) every single player improved OPS from 2016 to 2017, and the players with the worst career stats saw the most improvement (Jake Marisnick and Marwyn Gonzalez improved by over +200). Also studied the 2017 Dodgers and 2018 Red Sox and the statistics are much more balanced. I do respect Jose Altuve- I think he is very talented and according to Correa, Altuve was disgusted by the cheating, and got angry when teammates tried to feed him signs. But the fact of the matter is that he had the best year of his career in 2017. It's a massive advantage. Imagine not having to read scouting reports or watch films late at night, trying to figure out pitcher tendencies. In fact, you don't even need to scout opposing pitchers - a huge advantage over teams that were trying to compete honestly. No wonder they were cheating all season, even against teams that lost 100 games, like the White Sox and the Mariners. At that point, it's not even baseball any more. It's some other game.
