For anyone wondering if they’re too short to ride? I’m 4’10” with a 26” inseam, and I ride a lowered Ninja 300 (28” seat height). Although I can only tip toe on one side, can’t kick the kick stand up/down when I’m sitting on the bike, and impossible to “walk” the bike when I’m on it, but that didn’t stop me, so I’m sure you guys can ride too!!!

@@abbyvang1372 It is definitely not an easy process to ride any bike as a short person. I dropped my bike many many times, definitely broke multiple parts (gear shifter, rear brake, rear signal lights, etc) even with frame sliders on. I also got sent home the first time I took my motorcycle safety course, cause I didn’t know how to balance the weight of the bike with my tippy toes, and dropped it 3 times within the first 10mins of the course. The 3rd time I dropped the bike during the class, it landed on my foot and injured it. After that it took me years to gain enough confidence for me to attempt to learn again. It’s going to take time, patience, and dedication. Also ride your ride, don’t ever get pressured to do something you’re not comfortable of (lane splitting, turning quick at a corner, etc). And make sure to ride with safe riders. Wish you all the best! :)

My first bike was a Ninja 300 and being I'm 6'2" and 250 lbs, people always gave me their opinion on if I was too big for it. I really enjoyed the bike and I didn't feel to big. Overall, most of the sport type bike are similar in size and if you're north of the 6 foot or 182 cm mark, people will say you look "too big" for the bike. It shouldn't matter if someone else thinks you're too big or not as the only thing that does is how well do you fit it, are you comfortable, and can you operate it safely.

Love this video. I have a ninja 500. 5’4 and 130lb (American 🤷‍♀️) I feel like a giant on the bike but it’s huge when I’m off it haha. I did shorten it 1.5 inches because I wanted to flat foot where I’m a new rider. I will be raising the bike as I get more and more comfortable. I’m not too excited about not being flat but lowering the bike is supposedly dangerous (so many different perspectives).

I’m 5’1 with a 27 inseam and I’m nervous about if I can fit comfortably on it. I’ve been between this bike and the Vulcan S for a few weeks because that one is definitely better for my height/inseam (however I did find out that bike is like 100 pounds heavier, and I barely have any strength).
My main 2 concerns though is how well I’ll be able to reach the ground with my feet and if sitting normally (more tucked because of my height) ends up getting kind of uncomfortable (and also how long I can ride before needing to stretch and such).
Besides actually sitting on the bikes and adjusting everything though, I still have about a year to grow, so hopefully I’ll gain an inch or two or more. I haven’t lost hope yet!

However, having shorter and slightly stout legs most foot pegs dig into my legs. The ninja's pegs seemed to be ever so slightly more forward, and my legs fit right behind them.

I buy a sell a lot of bikes, basically rebuilding damaged ones, had a few Ninja 650s through my hands, with the high bars and sit in design not for me.
The Ninja 400, as soon as I sat upon it, it feel ‘right’ can see why they are one of the most popular bikes in my country (Australia)

  • @highplainnsdrifter3050

The best advice is go sit on bikes. I thought I hated bikes that were sports, & thought only cruisers or standard bikes were the most appropriate & comfortable.
Then sat on a Ninja 300 & a SV Suzuki 650, plus some other sports bikes.
    My views have been reversed!!!
So do sit on bikes of a wide variety to find your ergo match.
