@@charlesmieth2467 Hmmm he seems more offense oriented like Dee Jay, but yeah with Dee Jay and Guile being in the chances are almost 0 lol. Even Nash is a more popular character probably and plays even more like him, he does look fun though.
@@charlesmieth2467 There's like 4 shotos in the game, I don't think that holds much weight.
Charge Buffering: immediately charging a move immediately after a previous move is executed (most if not all fighting games), Charge Storing: Holding the final motion input of a charge move and then pressing the attack button when you desire to execute the move while still holding the final motion (ONLY in ST afaik), Charge Partition: Continuing the charge timing after briefly releasing the charge to do a dash, micro walk to reposition yourself (3S this has to be executed within 10f). A lot of ppl just say "charge partitioning" when they mean one of these three in a given situation. Not trying to correct Justin, but I wanted to bring some clarity to the different techniques charge characters have even if certain techniques are game dependent.
Yeah charge partitioning is only when the required charge for a move is completed over two or more charging periods. What Justin mentions at 6:49 regarding Urien hitting multiple tackles in succession is not charge partitioning.

Cool to see Pierrot still around. Him and Dagger G were the two I watched a lot back in the day when I was learning to play Remy.
Lucifer aka Pierrot is actually amazing, i saw him take down a team of 5 pro players by himself, i think it included 2 chuns even.
I think it's funny that Remy moves are often labelled after Guile moves, despite them not being related in any way, including the way their moves work canon-wise.
Canon-wise? So Remy's powers are different than Guiles?
@@soulwarrior5791 Yes, because Remy uses light to power up his projectiles and kick, while Guile and Charlie use sounds to power up projectiles.
To be fair their story's also themematic connections.
Guile is a father that became a street fighter for revenge. Resulted in him neglecting his family.
Remy in other hand hates street fighting because his father becoming a street fighter and neglecting him and his sister.
Remy's story is a what could happened if Guile failed to return to his family at time.

@@Realitycheck98765I don’t think that character popularity holds much weight for what they add in the last half of a game’s lifespan now. Looking at SFV, we got tons of characters no one asked for before it withered away.

remy is sucha underappreciated character in 3s. idky he was so unpopular, i guess he seems redundant when guile exists but he was so sick imo.
The problem was he wasn't guile that's why. Also during the time ppl don't like the emo guile stereotype I suppose.
Because remy is a low tier with the worst super in sf, no wonder it'll cause dislike to the character as a whole as he becomes a laughing stock.
And he's only in 1 game, and in that 1 game; he's mid-low tier at best.
Requires a more defensive playstyle/mindset than most people want to play. Though Pierrot is uncharacteristically aggressive, there are many times you'll question the optimality of his decision-making.
Remy is one of my favorite street fighter characters. Back in my day. He does a flash kick and a sonic boom. Just like Guile. He has good combo moves.
I feel like Remy will come back in SF6 he kinda fits with the games vibe, I’m interested to see how they’d differ his gameplay from Guile’s in a game where both are playable

He'll probably get the Nash treatment. Replace charge moves with command specials, turn his neutral grab to a command grab like G's. If they put him in I imagine that's what they would do.
@@patrickcalip948 That's a good and probable idea. I'd like to see him but it's little likely if it's with this same 3S moveset. Modern SFs are not promoting derivative chars anymore like in the 90s (and i actually support this idea)... even shotos became more different from each other than how they looked in the 90s. But that just means that Remy has good chances to come back if it's with a changed moveset. I'm also curious about how he would look in a redesign.

Honestly I'm hoping to see the majority of third strike characters come back aged up some. If Remy comes back, I'm betting that they're going to cut his hair down and make him look like a kpop star.

To a scrub, it looks like Pierrot just mashes every button possible 🤣
I play Remy and love watching and learning from the greats like Pierrot and DaggerG. And yeah charge partitioning is great, and it's so satisfying when I stand up, hit them with a standing fierce and then flashkick, or I parry and then immediately throw out the surprise boom.
3rd Strike looks really cool. Love the sprites. Kinda wished i played it back when it came out.
I remember being like 8 yrs old, and playing it at the arcade back in 99-‘00.
The place was empty, and all people played was Marvel 2.
But there was something about the game that stood out to me. I was looking at the character select, but the time ran out. and i ended up selecting Ibuki.
I don’t remember much after that, but i remember the saints lost a football game, and my dad was fed up so we went to the arcade.
Good times. A persistent memory every time i boot this game up, or see it being played.

Dear Justin you gotta try beat me up games specially the openbor fan games ones like AOF : Troubles In South Town V3 or Final Fight LNS Ultimate V4 etc... specially Final Fight LNS Ultimate V4 it has all your favorite characters including Rémy and Chun Li , Evil Ryu, Oni, Dhalsim, Nash, Guile etc... in two words it has all SF characters from 2 to Ultra 4 and Alpha ! That s not all it has also many universes characters like Cyber Blue, Yellow Iris, Punisher, Mustapha, Iori, Beninaru etc... to sum up it has SNK,Capcom,Marvel,etc... more than 100 characters ! The game has combos and juggling system , special and supers and in case of SNK characters they have the hyper when 25%health remains recover attacks , parry , counter etc... a game you can’t get bored playing it ! Of course I dint say everything about it like modes and secret characters etc....

I dare you Justin to play Final Fight LNS Ultimate V4 on massive mode and on marathon and see how far you can get lol ! marathon mode is the hardest mode ever you play all levels instead of choosing the routes 🛣! Beware the enemies are so hard and if you don’t perform the recover attack :Up + attack they will keep on juggling you until you die ! For ex ! But you can do the same and don’t worry if they touch the ground once it s like Tennis 🎾 system even if they touch the ground you can still juggle them as long as they don’t touch the ground second time ! Cool ha lol
