My father was a concert pianist in Poland in his late teens (1930’s) & highly regarded his beloved Chopin. As a child I heard countless compositions of Chopin being played by my father and memorized all the notes in my head. I cannot read or play piano but I can sing every note. Your passionate performance of this Etude brings back such tender memories of my childhood. A truly gifted artist 👏🏻👏🏻🎹💯
Your playing is fantastic, but what is truly breathtaking is the effort you must have put into putting all those candles around!
😂
I think the candles are fantastic, but what is truly breathtaking is the effort she must have put into putting this beautiful piece together in such a flawless way!
Hahaha ! Very droll !
fighting with carbon dioxide
They are not even real candles. There the fakes with the batteries in the bottom. They tried real candles but by the time most were lit the pianist got pissed and walked out..
the most beautiful Etude in my opinion. really well played!
How could any human come up with something so beautiful? I don’t understand….
I d like to see playing with your sister
Chopin himself believed the melody of the piece to be the most beautiful one he ever composed.
@@JanKowalski-vj9py huh. I did not know that!
😮@@JanKowalski-vj9py no way!!!!!
I found It his most emotive creation ever!!!!!❤❤❤❤ WOW!!!!!!
Chopin etues are masterworks. My Grandma use to play this piece sometimes. I hope i will learn this sometime so i will play it to her.
Chopin is smiling and nodding his head listening to your performance.
I LOVE YOUR PHRASING❤
Is there another song that sums up life better than this one? The simple harmonious beginning, the unsettled rat race in the middle, and the time for simple reflection in the end. I love it! Perfectly executed.
With all the fun videos and tutorials you post, I had forgotten how sublimely you play. And, the candles provided a wonderful effect! Just beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
I hope those are LED electronic candles and not real ones. The soot, heat, and melted candle wax would not be good for a grand piano.
@@frazzledude They're electronic LED candles, she said on her Instagram story.
Love Chopin. My favorite pianist by far. Annique, you play with such feeling and passion. 🥰
Thanks!
My favorite pianist :)
A powerful piece and interpretation that made me shed a tear. You really do have a gift for music. I only hope one day my musicianship can be a fraction as good as yours ❤

Excellent playing. Greetings from USA. 🇺🇸
I wish I could give this video more than one single solitary lonesome thumbs up! Excellent scenery, phenomenal playing (as always!), great video editing and multiple camera angles...it has it all!
BRAVO Annique!
I would still love to hear the Chopin Nocturne Op. Posthumous in E minor while you have the set-up with all the candles! It is Chopin's most haunting and passionate Nocturne (in my humble opinion).
I would argue nocturne op 48 no 1 is his most passionate and haunting but that one is great too
wow, great performance and atmosphere!
Absolutely stunning performance with an absolutely stunning view! The candles appreciated the feelings and emotions of this piece way beyond♡
Perfect tempo. Beautifully played
Wonderful❤💐 Goosebumps every time, and the atmosphere is so romantic and calm ❤️I'm actually studying this etude too,and your interpretation is such a model and inspiration for me !
Btw,can't wait to see your Album!😇
Perfectly beautiful. Great talent.
So beautiful. I've been listening to this since the late 1950s. I've never gotten tired of this piece... Anytime I'm lonely or missing someone. This is as beautiful as I can remember hearing it played... Thanks so much.
I remember you had 20k subscribers. Keep up the great work! You are a big inspiration for me!
Wunderschön ❤🥰
This is very beautiful performance 🎹👏
Beautiful. I've listened to so many versions of this étude, and yours is absolutely among the very best. And great editing on the video too!
This is one of my favorite pieces and you beautifully performed it. Thank you.
As the 555th like I can say I heard you playing this beautiful etude lots of times but I think this Is the best time of them all. So much emotions Annique! I almost cried. Outstanding performance, keep the work up :) Love from Italy🤗
❤️🎶🎹A Beautiful performance in every way!
Bravo..
Eye candy plus ear candy. Thanks for sharing your art with us.
Bravo!!!!
Que música e execução maravilhosa! estou presa em loop infinito nesse video. Muito Sucesso Annique!
You made this very intimate and beautiful! This really set the tone for what a nocturne would be like👏🏿💯‼️❤
That was so beautiful. The amazing performance, the setting with the perfect darkness and candles, the superb video quality, the different angles, the emotions captured...just beautiful.
Beautiful sound and wonderful harmonies! I shall move back to playing Chopin on my piano after holidays! ❤
Wie schön ist doch die Musik
Wonderful work, Annique ... so musical and played with great sensitivity ! A pure joy ....
Beautiful...you deserve the great comments with the time and practice you put into it👍❤️🎹🇳🇿
One of my favorites Chopin studies to listen too! You performed it beautifully thanks for sharing @heartofthekeys
The sound of the piano fits the expressions on how you play it❤
I Love the soft touch, the way it is played. Very touching!🙌
Magnifico 💯👏🏻🤟🏻
The lights are crazy beautiful and youre so talented yeaaah
So beautiful...
Wondrous!!!! Thank you for sharing -Take care & be well!
🙏🏻💔🙏🏽
Beautiful! ❤
Bravo!!! Such a beautiful piece and beautiful video! Much respect and admiration from California! 🤩✌🏻🫶
Sighhhhhh i'd never heard Chopin's Etudes before I started watching your videos; now, because of your playing, Op 10 No.3 is my favourite. The set looks really pretty too!
Also: Have you ever considered trying to set up a private live stream for any of your solo concerts, and selling digital tickets for fans who can't come to Germany? It would be cool, but it might be too complicated to set up, idk.
Beautiful!
Simply Amazing 😀
Beautiful music👍
Played with a lot of feeling.
That's the superb effect of the piano imo
this is absurdly beautiful!!!
Unfassbar schön gespielt ich kann mir vorstellen, dass es mit den ganzen Kerzen ziemlich warm wurde ^^
I had a 66-key electric piano by Casio, and the piano had these programmed tutorials to help you learn piano pieces that it had in its memory bank. The keys to play would light up, so you could follow along and learn the pieces by muscle memory. Long before I learned how to read music, this Etude (in a shortened and simplified form, with no middle section) is one of the first pieces I ever learned and I treasure it for that.
amazing
Beautiful 😍
Beautiful💕
Beautiful ❤
Amazing!!
Aspiring to be at this level one day ☺️ you are inspiring!
Absolutely stunning! Your playing paints such a vivid and enchanting picture . You've beautifully captured the atmosphere, emotion, and intricacies of this piece, making it feel as though i am here listening live in person. The candle light just adds another layer of warmth, intensity and sweetness.❤
This is the perfect tempo. And piano
Bravo!
you inspire me
Even though I said dirge, you still played it beautifully as you are. I love watching and listening and learning from you. Keep up the wonderful videos.
Wonderful 👍
Amazing performance! I am also currently working on a full program of Chopin Etudes and Ballades for a competition, and some particular etudes (including this one) for the Van Cliburn. Your performance inspires me to improve my performances and keep working hard. Keep going at it! - Michael Jia, 13 yr old pianist from Canada
magnificent

i love you for this
You are amazing
Magnificent

nice music and touch i love you
wow❤
keep it up!
Favorite
This is good! I hope you tour USA someday.
Beautiful playing, the ambient scene is so nice and it is all very cozy and warm.
Related to this piece is the topic of the tempo you yourself discussed in a video of yours, I don't fully understand why we follow the M.M.'s we feel like they're right. Just wanted to let that said.
No hate, I have followed you for years and I love your playing, I just can't make my head around that issue and that reminded me you did a video about it.
Lovely playing, once again.
Lovely even tone.
Impecável
a truly wonderful video . . . excellent on *_SO_* many levels . . . wishing you the best of luck on your upcoming album release concert . . . any chance of a pay for view live stream?
❤❤❤
beautiful! i dream to be like you one day 💖🎵🇹🇷
Ive tried learning this Etude but the score hurts my brain. I keep getting lost and confused. I love when others play it beautifully. Great job!
Just skip "those 8 bars" - you know which ones I mean. The rest then becomes just a little bit more in reach!
If the piano sings, it's Chopin. If it's beautifully pensive, it's most definitely Chopin.
This really reminded me why I want to study piano on a conservatory
So instead it's Op. 9 no. 2, like I said...You played Op. 10. No. 3.....I see what you did. ❤
To stay in the mood, the next piece should be Liszt Consolation No. 3.
Que manera de interpretar tan especial tienes😀
❤
😍😍
One question -- choice of treble pitch on downbeats of mm. 31 & 34. Both of my editions (Yorktown, Denes Agay & Salabert, with comments by Cortot) indicate C natural on downbeat of m. 31, and D# on downbeat of m. 34, both times in the treble voice. Your choice to do m. 34 with a D nat., sounds acceptable, but C# on downbeat of 31, to my ear, clashes with the C nat. and D nat./F in the middle voice which immediately follow. Why did you choose these two pitches ? Thanks !
I was wondering the same, interesting to learn about the thought process of these two notes!
Liebe Annique, das ist eine wunderbare Interpretation. Aber die Takte 31 und 34 solltest du noch einmal überdenken.
Man... this moves me in an unfathomable way... thank you for that.
On another note, are those real candles or just led fakes? Please tell me they're real!
Sorry to tell u, but the candles are fake. It could be very dnagerous putting candles on a piano
What?? You are mixing modes with C and C# around 1:47, and again at 1:57 with D and D#! I have never heard a performance that mixes the major and minor for a half bar two times, but I have to admit it adds an extended color that isn't unpleasant. I just don't think it's what Chopin wrote
I would do anything to be able to come to the concert😞 but its way to far away from me..
To be honest, I wanted a deeper performance of this etude. But it is really the most complex musically. Here you can't hide behind technology - here you have to open your soul... But here I heard a certain alienation from music. Forgive me for being direct, but I write what I heard...
"Wie viele Kerzen wollen sie haben?"
Annique: "Ja!"
Btw. Who tf is disliking this video?
