  • Paul McCartney wrote "Blackbird" in response to the civil rights plight in America. During their June 30th 1970 concert in Lakehurst New Jersey, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young covered the song which is set to the public domain film "Negro Colleges In Wartime".

    CSN&Y - very nice. The song is to me reminiscent of a spiritual - and here thoughtfully coupled with a fitting movie. Segregation of one kind or another seems impossible to eradicate. If it is not colour, it is religion or language, looks or differences in customs .... people will always find reasons to, if not hate, then at least to spitefully criticize.
    Maybe AI could do better?
