Shifty realises it's a good player.
Good players will re-chall while not fully plated, just to get peakers advantage.
Shifty plays a wider angle to a) minimize the effect of peakers advantage & b) be in a different position so the guy isn't perfectly centered on him.
In short: Easy read and a lot of hours.
