Another classic from the late 70’s which never gets old. Helped me enjoy my late teenage years.
That was shot 38 years ago at Alberts Studio by myself and a old mate called John Shinerock. John did the lighting and focus pulling and I was the camera operator. Now here's some really great trivia. John Shinerock was 2nd camera and focus puller on the first 5 James Bond films. He was one of the greatest teachers I ever worked with.
3 years earlier we had the privilege of filming clips for Billy Thorpes "Million Dollar Bill" album, including his classic "It's Almost Summer" also on youtube

1978 was the best year of my life. I had many good years overall, but nothing equals 1978.
I have a really touching memory associated with this song. a long time ago, back when I was a child, I was sitting with my grandma in her kitchen and we were talking about grandpa (who passed away before I was even born) and she was telling me how much they loved each other and how much she missed him - while this song was playing on the radio. Ever since then, whenever I hear this song I think of her and that moment. today It’s been 7 years since I lost my grandma and I miss her so much it hurts, but at least she is with grandpa now.🕊️

One of my mom’s fave song. She actually said “love is in the air” in our last conversation. She died due to covid last March 16, 2021 and I’m bawling right now. So sad 😭☹️

His son Danny is entertaining now, and I filmed him at a tribute concert in Brisbane a few years ago. John or "squeak" as is his nickname has semi retired, but still tours Australia with his all stars band when covid allows it.
John Shinerock who I mentioned is still going and lives in Canberra. I spoke to him only last year when we did a James Bond special on radio at Bay FM in S.E. Queensland

I was born in 1971 (US) and I remember this song playing on the radio all the time. I would dance around the kitchen at the farm holding the dogs paws or just picking up a cat and dancing around. Its such a happy song and you cant hear it and not start to move in your chair. And fun fact,, on the show Will and Grace, Jack and Estefan have this song as their first song and newlyweds in the airport in which everyone is dancing choreographed.
When I was 8 one night there was an earthquake. I had never felt one and I felt very scared. My mother turned on the lights. Everything was shaken and the lamps were oscillating.
We all felt scared. Then my father turned on the radio and this very song was playing. It was a moment in time, when my parents were young and together, when I was young and careless and the world stopped for a moment in this nightly earthquake.
So, to me this song is beautiful as it carries a strong feeling. Almost 40 years have passed and every time this feeling is there.

My first son was born on 7th March, and I didn't know by that night that I could not stay at the hospital with my girlfriend and him, so I decided to find a host with some relatives, and when they took me from the hospital, this song was sounding on the car radio...I'll never forget that in that moment, the love was in the air...
