I would definitely love a tutorial on night lapses. I just got a Hero 10 and am looking for clever ways to use it to max out its potential
Would enjoy a tutorial on night lapse. I have a couple of 8’s. You said it was designed for 9’s & 10’s, what functionality do you lose on an 8?
Basically nothing, only how they pair. I made a video about hero 8 compatibility you may find useful. czcams.com/video/weI7YUutPS8/video.html
I can see how this could be very useful for night time lapses. Thanks for sharing.
Great video Sean! I do not own a GoPro but I am looking at getting one by the end of the year. This Volta battery tripod is brilliant!
- Have a blessed day 👍🏻
Great tool! Thanks for showing us.
I would love to see how you tackle nightlapses. I’ve tried with little luck in the past. Cheers!
Yea a tutorial on night lapses would be great 👍
Thank you and would definitely like to see your tutorial on how to get good night lapse's with go pro and that mount specifically. : )
Yes please Shaun, do some tutorials for Night Lapses. Thank you very much.
Helpful video. I’d like to make some summer night sky B roll and would certainly welcome a tutorial on how to do this.
Be great to see a tutorial as have just purchased a power bank to do these. 😀
I would also love a “how to” video on your process for night lapse!!
A night lapse video tutorial would greatly be appreciated!!
Yes... me too like to see how you do your nightlapse!
Yes please I own the action 1 and would like to see some videos on night lapses
100% I’d like to see a night lapse tutorial.
def interested in night lapse tutorials
Would love some shutter settings soon if possible leaving for Colorado Saturday the 14 th
Hi yes I’d like to see a video on how you do night lapses, I’ve just brought a Volta so be good to use it for that. Thanks.
Yes, I would like to learn how to do a night lapse on my GoPro. :)
This would be so much better than me attaching a powerbank to my tripod leg for nightlapses when out camping 👍
Yes please would like to see how you do night lapse
On a recent kayak trip I was unable to change my Hero 9 but once on a 6 hour trip, due to its placement on the kayak. However I was able to get close to 2 hours recording on each battery with the front screen turned off, which I thought was fairly good for continuous 30 fps recording in 4k. I have a pocket USB power unit I use when camping for a small light or to recharge my phone, so I suspect that it would work for long time lapse recording. (I also suspect that the standard battery would power it in time lapse for longer than continuous recording.
Would love to see a tutorial for night-lapse photography.
Please do a detailed how to on night lapses.
I would like to see all the settings for the night lapse, I have never tried it before and not sure about the settings with using the Volta. thanks
EXCELLENT video Shawn.. I would love to see a video of how you do night lapses.. I've never owned a go pro but not I'm sure it's all basically the same.. I have done them on the osmo action.. and used a regular power bank.. HOWEVER lol I done them from inside my house and shot it from the front window.. lol. No weather to worry about . This seems like a fantastic product.. will this work with a action 2 . Curious is it will overheat or etc etc.. thx buddy
Michael
Cool , thx for info
I done few nightlaps but run out of juice in 2/3 hours 😂
Please drop some settings for Your night laps :)
I’d love some suggestions for settings for night lapses
I would love to see a "how to" video on night time Lapse...
It would certainly be great to use this accessory. But if you are the owner of a GP9 with all its chills, unexpected shutdowns, sound loss, etc., you must first be able to afford to change the camera. Or ..maybe take the safe before the unsafe, and wait for pocket3 from Dji

Great information and video. Newbie question. What camera do you use to film these videos and do you use a stand or what. Sorry for my ignorance, just new to all of this and i really like your content. Also new to your channel.
Would I be able to use the functions on this with my osmo action
Hi mate, I would love to see a tutorial on night lapses on GoPro, Thats the thing missing in my clips. Cheers Steve
@Text me on telegram 👉@Airphotography010 Hi mate how do I text you directly? Cheers Steve
What's the best ipad to used for editing space etc?
One more question. I’m getting a dji mini se. What are some video ideas I can film with it
I would like you how to on night lapse please!
Would love to learn the techniques of Night Timelapse. Pls make a video.
I would like a tutorial. I have both the 9 and the 10 and just got the grip hoping to do just what you are talking about
I got this............... Hello, congratulations you're been selected as a great winner. Quick Send a directly message above to acknowledge your prize. Thank you 💖💖
Hi there! Thanks for this video I really appreciated you sharing about this useful tool that GoPro made. I'd love to see a video or two on the night lapses you've captured with it, if you'd be willing to share. One question....if you're willing? 😊 I've just started playing around with our volta and after recording a night lapse overnight for 8.25 hrs, when I hit the record button to stop the lapse, it took close to 2 hrs to process. It seemed awfully long. I got 1:09 mins of actual video which was cool, but is it normal to have it take that long to process? We own the Hero 9 .
Do you edit your night lapse to make it look better. If so what editing softwhere do you use
Will the Volta control the on-off function of a Hero 10 Black remotely? I want to mount my GoPro on the rear of my airplane and turn it on and off from inside the plane while in flight. The distance would be about 20'.
Is there any way to get this in india ? Thank you !
The feature that I like most about the Volta is something you didn't mention: the second mounting point. This allows me to mount the GoPro on my backpack strap using a quick release system on that second attachment point. I can pull it off my pack strap and the handle is ready to go. I wish there was another, lighter grip/stick with a double mounting point. Are you aware of one?
Will the buttons work with the osmo action?
Can you use the Volta as a Bluetooth remote for the Max?
How well does a GoPro "see" at night? I ask because I'm wondering if this setup would be useful for recording wildlife in the manner of a trail-cam?
With long exposure photos are really good, however GoPros don't record video well in low light in my opinion
Loved this Video Sean! 👍👍👍 Would this work with the GoPro Hero 7 Black?
Yes it would just not be remote functions but the battery handle can easily plug-in
Notifications gang checking in, that’s what I was thinking 🤔 no one talks about this! But what about the ball head? Just get it close enough?
Mounting on a tripod will give your better flexibility when it comes to positioning
Great channel! Hey, my Volta makes my front & rear light stay constantly on too. Is that normal? Any way to cut those off? Thanks!
Should only be on when charging the GoPro. Sometimes they don't turn off when done. I have had that happen even when charging from a wall outlet
Waiting for dji mini 3 pro unboxing n review.
1st .....lovely video😁
So did you get 9 hours with both the gopro and the volta fully charged?
Shawn, Love the video. I have been using the Volta & Hero10 for Night Lapse captures over the past several nights. The first night, I got a good capture, but the clouds affected the shot. The second two nights, I set up the GoPro using Scheduled Capture to start about sun down. The GoPro started and ran for a couple hours, but not all night. I think the Hero 10 works fine, but is not waking up the Volta, so I drain the camera battery, but not the Volta battery. Any chance you use Scheduled Capture on your set-up? Thanks.
Seems to be a common problem with the Volta not waking up on scheduled timer.. and the Volta didn't last all night ie >7hrs.
@@AirPhotography hi I just tried one option last night. I've removed battery from gopro and connected volta. All good.
What tripod holder are you using to hold the iphone and external mic when making the video??? Thanks
I have a few different methods I actually made a video about my overhead filming set up a few months ago. If you’re interested just scroll back through my recent videos and you can get a whole rundown of how I film
I’ve received the GoPro Volta. I want to schedule a night lapse. When the battery has drained does the Volta automatically kick into action?
Basically it will keep your GoPro battery at 100% until the volta is drained and then the GoPro will start using the internal battery
GoProLapse. I can’t be the only one thinking this.
No DJI Mini 3 yet? Waiting for your review Man.. come’on👋
Hi Sean! Thank you for another wonderfully informative video! However, please keep in mind your grammar was really poor at 2:20. “There *ARE* different things you can do”.
Definitely like to learn more about night lapses
Where can you buy the Volta in Canada?
As far as I know as of right now the only place to get it is by ordering directly from the GoPro website. That's where I got mine, I live in Canada and had it the next day after ordering
I’ve got a gpro 8 black, want to find out for overnight shooting in night lapse, what size of memory card do you need?
You don’t need a very big card because essentially you’re just capturing a series of images or a very short video clip. Even a 32 GB card is more than enough
Thanks so much really appreciate, you should also post some of your night lapse videos so we can see how you do it
🤟🏼🤝😎
Would this device be an alternative for long video shoots instead of swapping out batteries?
Telegram is not recognizing you even under giveaway. Can we use Whatsapp?
@@allenmyers8568 lol. Pretty sure it's a scam. Almost everyone here won a "prize".
@@amused2deth It was a scam. After trying several methods of payment for the shipping charges for the "gift," I finally succeeded. But then I was told I needed to pay another $300.00 in customs fees. When I bulked, the cost was reduced to $100.00. I asked that the gift either be sent to me or the shipping charges be refunded. That suggestion was refused. If the content provider is reading this message, I hope he will respond. I've thought that this channel provides useful information and was extremely surprised and disappointed in the offer of a gift for which I would have to pay so much money to receive.
@@allenmyers8568 yeah it looked odd to me so I waited until I got home to get on my laptop and I went to the comments. Saw that almost everyone got the same message. Hopefully Shawn will announce it in his next video and warn everyone that it's not him.
Does the GoPro not overheat if doing a night lapse?
No it does not because it’s not actually recording video it’s just taking me a series of photos which doesn’t cause any heat. I have done time lapses with a GoPro for over 40 hours solid before with no issues
Thank you, great to know. I’ve now ordered this tool. I plan on doing a night lapse in Majorca when I go on my holidays. I’m staying in a villa right on the sea so I think this will take some great shots if I know what I’m doing.
put on media mod and some stronger light, and boom you got a ghost hunting camera! lmao
I just use a power bank. Gets me almost 12 hours...
For less than half the price, I can get 10+ hours of Timelapse with a ulanzi tripod and no name 20,000MaH battery pack.
It works pretty good but you won't get the full night
haha what a joke. can't even get my go pro 10 to stop the green screen of death when connected to the volta
Would love to see how you time-lapse using the Volta and the hero black 8:)
I would love to see a "how to" video on night time Lapse. I tried it only once. I kind of liked the results, but see so many more that are better.
There are some editing techniques you can do to really make the stars pop including the Milky Way. I’ll make sure I include both methods when I create a tutorial
Great Video and Great Information. Looking Forward To Your Tutorial Video On Night Time Lapse. Thank You.
@@AirPhotography mahalo nui loa! Thank you very much!
Same here
I did one on my channel. The Volta doesn't last as long as a bigger power bank
