  • LISTEN TO THE BASS and HENRY MANIOT's DRUMS IN THE CHORUS:
In this track "Tati Koina Ku",Painim Wok show their creativity, they play the verse in a slow tempo and then in the chorus, they deliver a totally different tempo/beat/rythm;on top of that,,the Kuanua language changes to the Duke of York island language. This has become one of the trademarks of Rabaul music where a different language,eg Pidgin English along with a different tempo is used in the chorus. The mighty Painim Wok band are the pioneers of this Rabaul style which has become popular and can be heard in Leonard Kania's many solo hits such as "Red Rose NCR".
The legendary PAINIM WOK band of Rabaul began their musical journey in the late 60s under the name MOLACHS with rock music.
They made their first recording in the 1970s under Greg C Seeto's Sound Stream Studios in Rabaul before Mr Seeto renamed his Studio "Pacific Gold Studios.
Painim Wok pounded the PNG airwaves not just with rock music, but with various musical styles that show cased their remarkable talents and musicianship which made their singer,George Telek, famous.

CONFIRMED MY LATE BIG BRO JOHN WONG LAID THE BASS TRACKS ON TATI KOINA KU...WHY...SIMPLE COZ THE INCUMBENT BASSIST AT THE MOMENT IN HISTORY COULDN'T SLAP OR SUCCINCTLY ARRANGE THE LEAD INTERVAL ARRANGEMENTS FOR THE SONG...IT HAD TO COME FROM A MASTERO AND ONLY JOHN WONG WAS SLAPPING THE BASS AND HITTING TREBLES ON BASS AT THAT TIME IN HISTORY AND WAS MUSICALLY INCLINED...LONG LIVE JOHN WONG ☺
