Making a tapped and tabbed slingshot from a figure 8 climbing descender. A little different from most takes on the chop and shoot technique.
I'll be the first old man over the age of 50 to say this, but you young guys are really starting to bloom out of your shell. I am really impressed. Now if everyone could cut back on their drinking a little communities could start getting healthy again.

The bands could be thicker but the overall product is VERY nice !
About the light problem... some countries has AC power at 60Hz and some use 50Hz... theres something about this on your camera menu... the AC power frequency and your camera settings must match... I hope it helps!! Great job with the slingshot by the way! :)

I saw you are just using tubes on the figure 8 designs.
Do those also work with bands and if so also strong ones for shooting 10mm +?

With those Roma (Gypsy) Band you can use either. Head on over to the Slingshot forum and meet all the slingers you can shake a stick at.

Some very thin 1/8" amber tubing, similar to the Dankung 1632, but softer and a smoother draw.

They sure do. I finally made new ones after using a crappy one I made out of some random 2x3's. I still want to make an "ultimate" one. I'll make a vid when I do.

very cool, where do you get those Caribbeans REI ?
They can be found online on eBay or other similar retailers. Most climbers will tell you that this style of descender isn't used much for actual climbing, mostly for assisting gear descending.
Are you selling these little slingshots? I would be interested in one if you are.
Why do you use these leather fixtures for the bands ?
+Maximilian Schirmer Leather tabs increase band life, decreases the likely hood that the bands aren't aligned and soften the shock of bands after release.
