I have a beautiful male pet pheasant in my garden,we feed him from our hand.he has a bad leg and he limps quite badly but seems very healthy.he has been coming for over 2 years now and I call him toot toot because of the noise he makes.xx💖💖
That sounds wonderful, but sorry to hear about his bad leg. Thanks for your nice comments and telling me so much about your lovely pheasant! Have a great day and stay safe and healthy!
One recently showed up in my yard. He tried to become a member of the guinea fowl party (3 male guineas), but they don’t want anyth8ng to do with him. Poor lonely fellow. He is obsessed with fresh water, so I make sure I empty the water bowl of its solid ice and fill it with some warm water when I see him. I hope he stays here all winter - there are hunters out in the few fields we have around here. Luckily, we don’t have coyotes, but we’ve got owls & hawks...and cars. In summer we have renters who come from 1000 miles away, then just open the doors and let their dogs out. “We’re in the country! Just let them run around! They don’t need a fence or a leash!” I hope he goes back to the fields in the spring.
Thank you for telling me so much about your pheasant! I really appreciate it! Pheasants are wonderful birds. We have lots of wild pheasants in our garden and I love them all. Each of them have their own personality. I wish you good luck with your lonely pheasant! Have a nice day! Greetings from Sweden, Ardisia
Thank you for posting this! It sounds, and looks, just like a wild pheasant that has made my backyard of evergreens his home. A few years ago, I noticed him around our backyard a lot. Then I saw a female pheasant with him. Now, I see three hens with him. I imagine that the other two are babies that have grown up. It's lovely to have them here. I enjoy hearing their calls in the early morning, and the late afternoon. When I'm around, I also hear their calls in the middle of the afternoon. We've always had dogs, so wildlife, such as these birds, never had the opportunity to make our yard/ our trees their home. It's sad that we no longer have our dog. However, this has been an unexpected, and pleasant, addition on the farm. I'm so grateful that coyotes, or hunters, have not gotten to these beautiful birds. Thank you for posting this wonderful video!

We have lots of pheasants in our garden and I love them all. Each of them have their own personality. I wish you good luck with all your lovely pheasants! Have a nice Sunday! Ardisia1234: Greetings from 🇨🇦! Thank you for your nice message. I am enjoying a view of the pheasant family through my window right now! The male has been crowing loudly this morning! He is a good wake-up call. :)
That's a shame. These birds don't prefer pine forests so I don't have them in the neighborhood, but a 10 minute ride on a bike away there is a more leafy forest that is full of these guys and I go there to watch and film them. Beautiful birds.
I have a pet one, a boy, his name is Steve. :) He has a cage in my room and I bring him out every day to cuddle in a blanket. My boy is beautiful, I've heard him crow like this a few times.
@@Ardisia1234 Thank you! I actually didn't raise him to be friendly from a baby, but he was among a group of human raised pheasants, one of them got their peeper off their nose(pheasants are apparently very prone to cannibalism) and they hurt him pretty bad, so we brought him in, and while he was recovering, he proved to be very well behaved and seemed to really enjoy being inside, so I got closer and closer with him, named him(his name is thanks to Markiplier, my pet named Steve) and now he's never going back outside, and when I used to hate pheasants(one gave me a scar by my eye) I now love them to pieces! 💙
@@Zonose Now I know the background and I'm sure that you saved his life. Yes, pheasants can be very tame even if they live in the wild. I've noticed that young male pheasants often keep together in a friendly way, but when they are getting older, they just want to fight against each other. - I also love pheasants very much and I love having them in my garden. They breed here every year! They are all wild and they are free to fly away, but they prefer me and my garden and of course all the food I give them! 😉 Warm greetings, Ardisia
We have two male pheasants, not at the same time, coming into our garden to eat up all the bird seed that has fallen from our feeders. Unfortunately their days are numbered as the next door farm and all it’s fields have been sold by the local council for a mass housing estate. Over development with over priced house boxes with no outdoor gardens instead of an organic farm. Not suitable for elderly, disabled because of the very steep site, even low income or locals not able to buy the so called affordable homes when you see the cost and the even smaller property.
Thank you for your comments! I'm so sorry to hear that your next door farm has been sold by the local council. I really feel for those who will be affected. - Thank you for watching my video and I wish you all the best for the future! Warm greetings, Ardisia
We have one of these vile creatures strutting about in our garden at the moment, making its horrible screeching sound at 6 - yes - 6am and throughout the day at intervals
Looks like the force of his own voice pushed him back xD

Why is every bird calling video a minute of dead silence
Pheasants like to "prepare" before they call, and I've filmed this preparation as well. Thanks for watching! 😊
Excellent video, nice sound

Yeah they're nice looking but you don't want to be woken up by a dozen of these birds screeching

This is the state bird for Manipur..
