  • Giulia Enders tells the story how and why she became fascinated by the gut (arguably) the most underrated organ of our bodies.
Giulia Enders, author of Gut: The Inside Story of Our Body's Most Underrated Organ, is a PhD student of Goethe University, Frankfurt.
In 2012 she won First Prize at Science Slam Freiburg, Berlin and Karlsruhe with her talk titled Charming Bowels and got a book deal that became a bestseller in Germany overnight. The rights for her book, in which she explains how the human gastrointestinal tract is functioning, was sold in 18 countries.
She currently is working on her thesis and is on her way to practice as a gastroenterologist in the future.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

This was great! I'm currently reading her book GUT. She seems so cool and down to earth. Definitely had a dull room with this presentation.

I seen them laugh a few times. However I just think people are too worried about letting go. No pun intended. Everyone was looking around to see how others were reacting. True, it isn't the social norm but my question is this, why did they come to this talk if they weren't into it? She definitely wasn't boring and neither was the speech

I listened to her live. The audience responded really well, I guess our voices were just toned down in the recording.

Of most of the gut videos in CZcams this one is pretty good in the details and presented in a clear, funny and understandable manner. Also the final anectode to approach life in a holistic manner is very touching. Thanks doctor.
