Well, they don’t lipsync but there’s definitely a backing track playing. It’s common in the US and overseas when you have extensive dancing. Listen to the rappers - they typically won’t have a backing track, but the singers will bc it’s a little easier to rap with this kind of dancing rather than sing. I think when they have to dance hard they probably use a backtrack and sing live on top of it. As far as I’m concerned, that’s totally acceptable.. There are other performances where you can really listen to their breathing and stuff. They still sound good😁
Literally every artist uses some extent of backtrack, ESP when doing full out choreo. The only artist that probably doesn’t use a lot of backtrack is prob Beyoncé. I feel like older people might have a thing against backtracks being used but I find most younger people don’t have an issue with it . If you’re puttin on a show I’m all here for it!

It does not show but a lot of times after their performances they ready to collapse , up close can see lots of sweat on time . When they did ON in Grand Central Jimmy Fallon said when he hug one of the members, he can feel his heart pounding through his back . Can’t see it on camera .
They infamously train in heavy busy times 12+ hours a day, they also practice singing while running in a treadmill yes. They are extreme athletes and they do a 2.5 hour set but having solo and unit songs let’s people rest. They also infamously perform so high level to need oxygen etc. Watch their other live shows it’s crazy.
One of the easiest ways to tell a live vocal from backing track is if you can hear any sibilance on the mics when they say "s" "p" "b"... you can also hear the breath intakes. BTS does have a backing track for some of the harmonies and adlibs, though they also do some live, so they can focus on the dancing and main vocals. A lot of these live shows do NOT have CC, the subtitles in the bottom left were there during the live broadcast as well. The Korean is in Hangul and the English words are in English, none of it was a translation. There is a channel called Bangtansubs where you can find a lot of videos that have had the translations done and imbedded.

So happy to see you guys back and Tom there is no need to apologize for health problems. Some information about the performance. This was the first time they performed Dionysus and there is a move where their entire bodies fall down to the ground. During one of their performances I believe it was a rehearsal Jungkook hit his chin on the floor while doing the move. After that happened they now kneel during that part instead of their whole bodies hitting the floor. I've said it once and I'll say it again BTS don't have any bad songs. Don't get me wrong there are definitely songs I like and listen to more than others, but there is not 1 song that I just can't listen to. It's a rare thing to love a music artists entire discography.

Great to have you all back for season 2. With 300 songs to review and rank, you three could easily have 30 seasons of BTS. Not a bad idea, actually. Yes Dooset is the best 💜 No worries, auto subs are notoriously bad😂 basically this is their call to ARMY to “drink up” their music, their art, and revel in loving life. So many little details in the lyrics. Cannot wait to see more reactions!💜 edit: they are the best live. Shawn Stockman of Boyz2Men said of their 2019 Rose Bowl concert that it was one of THE best concerts he had ever been to in his life. Prepare yourselves. BTS makes all hits. Don't be shy. You'll be passing out those 5 hearts all around. With live performances they often do not have lyrics so maybe you can read lyrics before? Just a suggestion. All their songs are well written, produced and performed...always.

Please be careful with reactions to content owned by MNET - they tend to hand out copyright strikes like Halloween candy. If you can, you may want to reverse the video and/or mask out the logo in the corner. On a side note, I've read that, not unlike in the U.S., some of the music competition shows on major S. Korean TV networks require artists to lipsync to a backing track. My guess is that it's easier on the production side to control the audio that way, but it's contrary to how BTS prefers to perform. Also, BTS is notoriously bad at lipsyncing, so much so that it's pretty apparent when you watch their MVs that they either do it VERY sparingly or not at all.
Thank you for mentioning the copyright strike issue. The reality is that ANY live performance that is not on the Bangtan TV channel leaves you at risk of getting a strike. HYBE/BigHit has always been fairly welcoming to reactions, understanding the free promo aspect and copyright income they get from them, but the Korean TV media companies like MNET, Melon, and CJE&M are particularly strict and will strike first, no warnings. The same goes for ANY Japanese language content. Your best bet for staying safe is to stick with only videos from HYBE or their BangtanTV channel or search for lives with english subs (because they've been altered from the original broadcast), and cut, mirror, & obscure the video on any video that you watch from Korean Media conglomerate channels (including comeback shows and award shows). Do not post Japanese language song reactions (eg Airplane pt 2 MV which is usually heavily requested by fans ignorant or uncaring of the risk) on CZcams unless you're willing to chop up and mask both video AND AUDIO. The Japanese distribution rights holders are the absolute strictest and will ignore fair use and strike every time.

I don't think they're lip syncing, they practiced 12-16 hrs a day. They're practiced so hard that they don't even want to take a break or eat something. They want to make their choreography is perfect. Yes, they practiced the singing while running in the threadmill. You can hear their breathing so hard.

dionysus is my fourth favorite song of bts. My most favorite of all bts song is "Spring Day" and there a very good reason why its on my top favorites. That's one of the reasons why they split the songs up so much between the guys, as far as to who is singing. It gives the others a few moments to breath hard and then they can jump back into it again
I think they have so much experience and practice so much that they naturally sound even better live. These boys have been doing this for so long that it's natural, most regular singers can never do this, especially performing a whole concert like this non stop. It's a little crazy.

If you want to watch the lyrics to a song and it doesn’t have close caption on a performance look up the lyrics videos that have them. Sometimes fans have added the english lyrics to a performance later but not always. It’s normal on a music show that have the korean lyrics in a corner, if it’s a live performance it may not have any lyrics.

Please check MMA 2019 to prove that these boys are great in music while dancing. Their choreography is to the highest level. Their lung capacity is really wide. It's amazing!!!!
In Korea, it's kind of "sin" if they do lip sync. So that's why idols were trained years, to be able to perform (sing + dance + acting) LIVE, without lip sync.
Korean music shows like Mcountdown makes every artist either use loud backing track or use prerecorded live vocals or make the artist sing live then edit the performance before broadcasting. BTS uses backing track cuz of the hard choreography but they do sing live on top of the backing track now the issue at the end of the day is the music show because of this circumstances they even banned fans from recording with their phone cuz they cant edit fancams. If you want to hear a performance with not a lot of backing track then watch their concert or award shows or really minimal backing track then watch them sing a ballad since they don’t do choreography

Many of the performance videos don't have captions, or the ones they have are the actual lyrics, not the translation. Since many BTS songs have a lot of metaphors and wordplay, having the direct translation doesn't always help anyway. One suggestion that you might consider is to read the lyrics ahead of time. Then you can react to the music and performances while you already know the point of the lyrics.
Coldplay and BTS just released song together my universe you might want to check it out. They also did a documentary making the song worth watching. As far as reacting to other artists why not pick someone you have not heard before then someone you know. Dimash Qudiabergen who is the best singer in the world not an exaggeration. I recommend Stranger his latest new song. Also Hua Chenyu another amazing artist you dont know what to expect with him. I Recommed nun-chucks with eng sub to start.
Lipsyncing depends on what program they go to. Here they are singing live but they got a really loud vocal back track which is almost annoying. You hear it the most right and the beginning during RM´s rap. Some broadcasting stations for some reason won´t let artists sing live cause they want "perfection" for their viewers.
The reason they almost always sing alone instead of harmonizing is because their choreography is so hard that members after their few lines need to catch their breaths. If you see them singing the the same song with half the choreo which is what happens at concerts, there are more harmonizing with members

Live shows don't usually have CC. If you want pretty accurate lyrics Doolset but live shows don't usually do lyrics and never use suto generated captioning. If you want to keep it about getting a feel of the music etc that's fine. But just remember if you ever say something about you don't think the MV matches the music or about missing concept etc well that is usually where lyrics come in. So you can definitely do it in that bare bones style just be prepared for the comments telling you of course you didn't understand or you missed something because unlike much of pop music today, lyrics are important to BTS and their music.

To me it's quite alright to not really go deeply into the lyrics and meaning of the song when you're watching a live performance. Most performance videos do not have good subtitles (or they just don't have it), which to me makes sense since the point is to watch the actual performance, not analyze the song. I would expect song analysis to be done on the original MV, lyric video (the more accurate ones) or even track audio in parallel with good lyric sites like doolset bangtan. It would have been ideal if you already know the song before you watch a live performance but sometimes there comes a song like "Dionysus" which does not have an official MV and the readily available way to experience the song on YT is via the live performances (which are really great, btw). Anyway, I just want to say that you guys are doing great and I really don't mind if you can't focus too much on the lyrics when you're watching a live performance. And in the case of songs like Dionysus which does not have an MV that's kinda forgivable, some fans just get too passionate sometimes (forgetting that they were once also ignorant of such things just like you and me). Good to know also that Tom is doing better, hope all you guys stay healthy and safe! :)

Thank you for mentioning the copyright strike issue. The reality is that ANY live performance that is not on the Bangtan TV channel leaves you at risk of getting a strike. HYBE/BigHit has always been fairly welcoming to reactions, understanding the free promo aspect and copyright income they get from them, but the Korean TV media companies like MNET, Melon, and CJE&M are particularly strict and will strike first, no warnings. The same goes for ANY Japanese language content. Your best bet for staying safe is to stick with only videos from HYBE or their BangtanTV channel or search for lives with english subs (because they've been altered from the original broadcast), and cut, mirror, & obscure the video on any video that you watch from Korean Media conglomerate channels (including comeback shows and award shows).
Do not post Japanese language song reactions (eg Airplane pt 2 MV which is usually heavily requested by fans ignorant or uncaring of the risk) on CZcams unless you're willing to chop up and mask both video AND AUDIO. The Japanese distribution rights holders are the absolute strictest and will ignore fair use and strike every time.

I don't think they're lip syncing, they practiced 12-16 hrs a day. They're practiced so hard that they don't even want to take a break or eat something. They want to make their choreography is perfect. Yes, they practiced the singing while running in the threadmill. You can hear their breathing so hard.

dionysus is my fourth favorite song of bts. My most favorite of all bts song is "Spring Day" and there a very good reason why its on my top favorites.
"Spring Day" was release in 2014 and is consider the korean national anthem also spring day have been in #1 korean music chart for 233 consecutive weeks and still charting.
the spring day is tribute to tragdey accident that involve sewol ferry boat that killed all high school students and corruped government that is hiding a truth from people and victim families.

That's one of the reasons why they split the songs up so much between the guys, as far as to who is singing. It gives the others a few moments to breath hard and then they can jump back into it again
I think they have so much experience and practice so much that they naturally sound even better live. These boys have been doing this for so long that it's natural, most regular singers can never do this, especially performing a whole concert like this non stop. It's a little crazy.

If you want to watch the lyrics to a song and it doesn’t have close caption on a performance look up the lyrics videos that have them. Sometimes fans have added the english lyrics to a performance later but not always. It’s normal on a music show that have the korean lyrics in a corner, if it’s a live performance it may not have any lyrics.

In Korea, it's kind of "sin" if they do lip sync. So that's why idols were trained years, to be able to perform (sing + dance + acting) LIVE, without lip sync.
Korean music shows like Mcountdown makes every artist either use loud backing track or use prerecorded live vocals or make the artist sing live then edit the performance before broadcasting. BTS uses backing track cuz of the hard choreography but they do sing live on top of the backing track now the issue at the end of the day is the music show because of this circumstances they even banned fans from recording with their phone cuz they cant edit fancams. If you want to hear a performance with not a lot of backing track then watch their concert or award shows or really minimal backing track then watch them sing a ballad since they don’t do choreography

There is a lot of live shows without subtitles, some have but a lot don’t. Look for (eng subs) when picking a video. I will go back and blitz the previous series to catch up. As long as you play BTS l’ll be here.
Dionysus is the song that they open their LYSY concert tour with. High energy with crazy props and a bizillion dancers. And they go straigh into another high energy song. You should check it out.

Actually, there is an even better performance, it’s the MMAs, but not sure Dionysus is cut out of a huge performance that lets you know you are watching a performance out of Asia. It is about 45 minutes, 2019. But, great start.

So they are singing about drinking and the effects etc. I'm sure it has been requested but possibly the most iconic live for BTS is the 2019 MAMA awards. Many of the performance videos don't have captions, or the ones they have are the actual lyrics, not the translation. Since many BTS songs have a lot of metaphors and wordplay, having the direct translation doesn't always help anyway.
One suggestion that you might consider is to read the lyrics ahead of time. Then you can react to the music and performances while you already know the point of the lyrics.
Coldplay and BTS just released song together my universe you might want to check it out. They also did a documentary making the song worth watching. As far as reacting to other artists why not pick someone you have not heard before then someone you know. Dimash Qudiabergen who is the best singer in the world not an exaggeration. I recommend Stranger his latest new song. Also Hua Chenyu another amazing artist you dont know what to expect with him. I Recommed nun-chucks with eng sub to start.

For me, it doesn't matter how people pronounce it, as long as the spelling is correct fine with me.
Lipsyncing depends on what program they go to. Here they are singing live but they got a really loud vocal back track which is almost annoying. You hear it the most right and the beginning during RM´s rap.
Some broadcasting stations for some reason won´t let artists sing live cause they want "perfection" for their viewers.

The reason they almost always sing alone instead of harmonizing is because their choreography is so hard that members after their few lines need to catch their breaths. If you see them singing the the same song with half the choreo which is what happens at concerts, there are more harmonizing with members
Auto generate captions are not correct. Also live performances is all about performance. Lyrics reaction comes when you react to the song.

You will find that most live performances do not have captions, just so you are aware.
Live performances usually don’t have CC. But to solve your problem is to watch lyric videos first. Then the live performances or MV.

Live shows don't usually have CC. If you want pretty accurate lyrics Doolset but live shows don't usually do lyrics and never use suto generated captioning. If you want to keep it about getting a feel of the music etc that's fine. But just remember if you ever say something about you don't think the MV matches the music or about missing concept etc well that is usually where lyrics come in. So you can definitely do it in that bare bones style just be prepared for the comments telling you of course you didn't understand or you missed something because unlike much of pop music today, lyrics are important to BTS and their music.

To me it's quite alright to not really go deeply into the lyrics and meaning of the song when you're watching a live performance. Most performance videos do not have good subtitles (or they just don't have it), which to me makes sense since the point is to watch the actual performance, not analyze the song. I would expect song analysis to be done on the original MV, lyric video (the more accurate ones) or even track audio in parallel with good lyric sites like doolset bangtan. It would have been ideal if you already know the song before you watch a live performance but sometimes there comes a song like "Dionysus" which does not have an official MV and the readily available way to experience the song on YT is via the live performances (which are really great, btw).
Anyway, I just want to say that you guys are doing great and I really don't mind if you can't focus too much on the lyrics when you're watching a live performance. And in the case of songs like Dionysus which does not have an MV that's kinda forgivable, some fans just get too passionate sometimes (forgetting that they were once also ignorant of such things just like you and me). Good to know also that Tom is doing better, hope all you guys stay healthy and safe! :)
