    I started to use skincare products a couple of months ago and I'm using the cleanser, the vitamin C, the A-game and the Cheer Up 6% Mandelic + BHA Liquid from the brand. I'm really satisfied with the products (however I'm not too experienced with other products). The biggest advantage for me that they are fungal acne safe products and helped me with the tiny bumps! 100% recommended! :)

    I definitely recommend this cosmetic brand. It's minimalistic, affordable, transparent. You know what you paying for and it's definitely worth to try. Retinal, Niacinamide and Vitamin C serum was beyond my expectations. All of their serums have light-weigh formulas, so they absorb in second. Not greasy, oily or silicone feeling. Super light and efficient. Jelly joker is gentle, soothing and soft cleanser. I also tried their Azelaic acid. 👍👌 Everything is great, effective and super affordable. 👌👍I can say it's better than The Ordinary for same price.

    Actually fragrance and essential oils don't really do anything to the product than making it smell nice so they really don't need to be within a product for it to work.
    And a lot of people are sensitive (like for example me) or even allergic to fragrance or essential oil compounds (Limonene, Linalool,...). So we appreciate every brand who doesn't put fragrance into their products.
    Also citrus oils actually make the skin more sensitive to sun damage, so they do have an actual downside. That doesn't make them straight up toxic but because of that they just aren't really the thing you want to have in your skincare. Sidenote: if you still want to use a product with citrus oils sunscreen is a must (just like with exfoiliants).
    Fragrance in general and essential oils especially also increase the risk of contact dermatitis or developing a sensitivity against them.
    So the truth is: in comparison to clean beauty fear mongering about potentially carcenogenic ingredients with shady studies as proof, leaving out fragrance and essential oils actually has a reason. And leaving them out doesn't change or worsen the product as for example leaving out preservatives because they are "bad" and as a result using an unsafe product. Notice also that clean beauty products often use essential oils because they are "natural" and even advertise their products with slogans "without synthetic fragrance"...

      Hi I just wanted to weigh in here that retinal by nature is superior and is much more gentle than other forms of Vitamin A, so it’s perfect for newbies!! Just stick with the lower .05% and increase slowly! Good luck!

    • @virginiemazy7054
      @virginiemazy7054 Pƙed 2 lety

      I use the A game 5 and I have no problem at all. My skin is on the dry side and I apply a thick moisturiser afterwards. You can also use an hydrating serum and / or niacinamide before so the retinal is in sandwich and thus it helps if you have sensitive skin. I would say that the “problem” might come from their vitamin C as it’s very potent : do not use it every day but build it up and see where your tolerance is.
      I used it everyday but after a while my cheeks were not liking it (maybe it’s because we are in winter ?). Now I use the C glow every 2 or 3 days. I still want to continue to use it as it is well formulated with real vitamin C at an affordable price.
      So I would advice to try the A game (but also their other products including the c glow, the HA, the B Bomb, the stress less)

    I do not have access to a dermatologist and I’m going through something that I’m hoping you/someone reading this could give me advice on. To start off I’ve always have had pretty good skin. Around a year and a half ago I had been getting acne on my forehead a lot. I started using acne treatments but I think I had been using it too much and it ended up drying out my forehead. Now when I sweat/ shower my forehead has tons of dead skin all over it and feels rough. I tried doing research and I got that I had most likely damaged my skin barrier? I went to find ingredients to look for what was good for helping that. I ended up using the Cera ve daily moisturizer for around a week straight and I definitely felt like it helped with the dryness and my forehead was starting to feel kinda smooth again! But with this week of using it throughout the day my forehead would burn so bad and get red. I didn’t think it was from the moisturizer at first because I tried this same moisturizer around summer time and never hada reaction like this. Anyways I kept using it then one day right after I put it on my forehead got all red and blotchy. I decided I needed to stop using it because I didn’t think that was normal. But now I’m stuck and don’t know what product to use! :(
    I don’t know if this was an allergic reaction or what. I’m really confused.

    • @Lemugisa
      @Lemugisa Pƙed 3 lety +1

      It sounds like you messed up your skin barrier so now your skin is dehydrated and irritated by almost everything. Good news, is that you can fix it, bad news is that you shouldn't use any "active"ingredients treatments (like retinal, etc.) because it could overwhelm your skin. Look into stuff with ceramides, anti-oxidants, panthenol, allantoin, probiotics and all that good stuff so your skin barrier can be fixed and rescued. Dr Dray (here on youtube) has many good recomendations. I'm actually using a lot of k-Beauty because I messed up my skin barrier too and moisturuzers were not helping. If you'd like to get some good recomendations I'd visit @kelly driscoll channel and @beauty within channel (they have many great recomendations!). What I'm using now is the Good cera Mist as a toner from Holika Holika, the snail96 essence from COSRX, the Purito Green level serum (it has centella asiatica super good for calming the skin, the unscented version is the best), and Neogen Probiotics youth repair emulsion as a moisturizer. In a week I could already feel that my skin was way better, and all the dry skin patches disappeared. I buy them on Yesstyle (there are many discount codes also that you can use to save some extra money). Hope it helps!

      @@Lemugisa Thank you so much!! I was actually looking into the vanicream moisturizer?... just because my skin is sooo sensitive at the moment. I thought I could use that for awhile at least until the sensitivity goes down then eventually go in to a moisturizer with like ceramides and all that. I don’t know I just thought since i couldn’t even do the cera ve lotion because I’m so sensitive then maybe I could try vanicream ? I have no clue if that’s even a good plan that I have? & Thank you so much for your input!!

      @@Lemugisa Also what product do you feel like helped the best out of the ones your using?

    • @Lemugisa
      @Lemugisa Pƙed 3 lety +1

      @Haley H Hi Haley! I have never heard of Vanicream (I live in Spain and it's not a thing here), so I cannot give you any advice on that. Maybe it's good, but I'm not familiar with the ingredients list it has. But you can try to look at the ingredients and see if it has any essential oils or anything that could cause inflamation or trigger fungal acne (there's a bunch of ingredients for those). If you want dermatological advice from a professional, I really recommend Dr. Dray here on youtube, she's a dermatologist and she makes in depth reviews about many skincare products and gives a looot of good advice regarding skincare and inexpensive and effective products. I just watched today a video of hers about " why cerave doesn't work on everyone", as many people says it stings and creates allergy-like reactions on them (she also posted alternative creams and moisturizers that could work if that's your case), maybe you get some answers there. For me I'd say the Good Cera mist and the Probiotics youth emulsion from Neogen are the ones that worked quicker (I actually wasn't expecting much from them, As I never thought mists could make such a difference), but the essence and serum did an amazing job giving my skin the water it needed because it was super parched and dehydrated. I got them for 10€ and 16€ each one, and after a month and a half, I still have like 1/2 the mist and 3/4 of the moisturizer left (they usually go on sale every other week). If you are trying to budget, maybe something like Aveeno eczema therapy or First aid kit (also has oats) would be a good option. If you want to try something K-beauty, Pyunkang Yul has decent sized products, with a very clean list of ingredients, that are quite well priced. For me, once I started to build again my skin barrier, I could feel how it was drinking all the hydration I was giving it!

    Do you know the shelf life of the vitamin c serum and retinal serum? I was wondering if they were good for 6 months, 12 months, etc.
    Thanks! I absolutely love your channel

      Someone in another comment section said the vitamin-c serum lasted them 3 months before oxidizing. On the G&G website it says the serum lasts a couple of months if un-opened, and then once opened, 6-weeks at room temperature and at least 3 months if kept in the fridge.

      But cleansers are most of time not made for that reason! They clean your skin but that can be hard when there is (waterproof) make-up and sunscreen on it. You should clean those off first with a balm or oil cleanser

    I've tried their niacinamide serum and it breaks me out 😭
    I've turned it into a body serum now, I think the high percentage of niacinamide might be the problem for me as most studies show it effective at 2-5%

      @@imke1398As a serum yes; in moisturizers no. Also niacinamide doesn't cause purging, percentages higher than 5% of niacinamide may cause irritation to some people.

    Some people do want to avoid some of those ingredients as mentioned and not always unnecessarily! Sulfates and silicones aren't always friendly to other hair textures (skin is not as much of a concern and I like my silicones there). Phthalates and parabens even have mainstream fertility doctors concerned and many are recommending avoidance. I really don't think their statement promoted fear at all but rather considers consumer demands and shares their perspective. I appreciate it as someone who would rather err on the safe side given there are some concerning studies on some of these ingredients, especially during pregnancy.

      Its a hungarian brand, its funder is Judit Råcz, who first had a blog creammania (krémmånia) and her whole point was to make a brand thats local that has no harmful things in, because for a long time here u could only buy vegan and fragrance free stuff from abroad or from big international brands, and the creams that were advertised and easily found here were full of parfume and other stuff such as clinique, nivea, clear skin... Then she and one other cofunder made the site skinsmart, which is one of the 1st sites in Hungary where u can ONLY buy fragrance free, cruelty free smart beauty, skincare products, here u can also purchase their own brand Geek&Gorgeous which she could make with the help of the big brand Helia-D. Helia-D isnt cruelty free, but the two brand is seperate, they just helped her, gave a place to be able to make her own line. So no. G&G isnt french.
