The fact that they used prosthetics is something I happily applaud! Too many times it's CGI only for creatures. But a perfect mix from CGI and practical FX/prosthetics brings an authentic feel that can't be replicated with just CGI.

Yea I gotta say it felt weird with them hardly having infected in some episodes, and I think it’s because they went with more of a horde type vibe with the infected instead of random amounts of them in any given area in cities or in the open. I’m not saying it was bad but there was moments where I was thinking “this is meant to be a show about people getting infected but I haven’t seen one for almost an hour”. Even just the fact they questioned whether or not to have a bloater in the season makes me question what else they were willing to change like come on stick to the source material
Druckmann's a genius. He's one of the few in the gaming industry you could genuinely call an auteur.

The bloater emerging from the hole was one of the parts I was really excited about from watching the trailer. Did not disappoint.

The first scene with the clickers in the museum looked so much like the game, it blew me away. I loved how the actors got all the little twitches and motions just right. There was a lot of love put into their performances and it showed.
2:50 THAT ENTIRE SECTION WAS CGI???? I only believed that part of the clickers was CGI models mixed with real actors, but the entire set being CGI.. bruh.. Shows how well and efficiently the budget was spent.
Now, Druckman may be amazing, but let’s not discount the colossal rise of Craig Mazin! He went from writing Scary Movie 3, 4 (funny movies I still think) to creating the breathtaking Chernobyl, and co-creating an adaptation no one thought possible. Now that is also genius!!
Barry Gower is the person who has done so much good Prosthetic work. All the great tv shows we love he has probably worked on them. Game of thrones to now. Excellent job he does. I never played the games and usually I wait till a season is over so I can binge it. But the last of us I tuned in every week so so good. Cant wait for S2
I enjoy getting to watch a great show when it airs too, because it gives the viewer a week to digest everything before jumping into the next episode a week later. TLOU was heavy lol

The Runner/Clicker/Stalker Sounds That The Acters Did Were Insanley Good :000
Everyone involved in this project are truly talented it's crazy how good the actors are for the infected!
The first scene with the clicker in the museum gives me chills every single time I watch it, because of how perfectly they recreated the essence of the game. The way you feel watching that scene is exactly how you feel when you're playing it. The silence, the sneaking around, Joel reloading with the clicker around the corner (this shot specifically was so spot on) and the way the infected move, the sounds, even the way Ellie is hiding. Neil Druckmann was so real for saying he gets emotional watching it because there's something so beautiful and moving about how it does the game justice and then some.
Cannot wait for the rat king in season 2.
The moment where the Bloater rips the guy apart reminds me of Jango Fett. He runs out of bullets and the Bloater gets him. Jango Fett’s jetpack malfunctions and gets decapitated
I haven't seen many behind the scenes movie productions, but this is the most incredible I've ever seen, thank you for bringing the show to life, it is perfect.
It looked amazing. I've played the game countless times and this show totally did it justice, especially with the infected. And I am so glad you guys included the Bloater. It was something my wife and I talked a lot about beforehand because we were really hoping to see one, and then we did and it looked incredible. The only thing I will nitpick to say I really missed was the bridge moment from the game. But again, nitpicking. Great job to all who were involved.

The best part is that the Clicker is played by the same Mo cap actors from the game who played the Clickers. Just goes to show how dedicated they are.

Also this year you released the TV Series! Its really awesome! I Hope you confirm about The Last of Us Part III, or Director Cut or New Game that relate :P and certainly TV Series Season II. I cannot wait for the big news from you Druckerman!

Absolutely stunning !! as a fan of the orginal game, seeing the characters come to life while watching the show was breathtaking and these vfx, makeup and costume team did a phenomenal job but honestly speaking, the writting of the tv show was flawed and they could have done a far better job. Lack of action, pace and unwanted prioritization of unnecessary storyline were the major negatives in the TV show.
I wish i could play an infected one day

I'm fine with Part II storyline. What I didn't love is the execution. However, with Craig Mazin, I think they will knock it out of the park with the shows. Can't wait for Part II.
Part 2 has a good plotline in there somewhere. I'd put money of TV scriptwriters making it better than what we got in the game. It needs better flow and pacing. Otherwise the drama in it is great.
They should have used the practical bloater.

Low key i was hoping they were gonna explain how the clicker actors were able to see if all that fungus was covering up their face
From a few interviews, the actors were saying that the clicker actors could not see so they would be led to their marks
The creators said this series would be very faithful to the original, and overall it's good though:
1-the spores are not in the series.
2-the infected barely appear in the show.
3- the story is important but needed more action.
4-Joel is not as tough as in the game.
5-what exactly did Joel do after his daughter died.
6-Acting is important, but so is characterization, Bella Ramsey doesn't look like Ellie.
7-Bill didn't have a toxic relationship with Frank that caused them to break up like they did in the original game.
8-Bill interacting with Joel and Ellie
9-David was not a shepherd in the game.
10-Maria and Sarah weren't black in the game.
11-Jackson's community was not communist.
12-how Ellie meet Riley.
13-how Ellie meet Marlene.
missing things:
1-what happened to Joel in these 20 years.
2-Joel and Tess' relationship, and how they met.
3-Joel and Tommy's relationship, and how they broke up.
4-how Frank and Bill's toxic relationship unfolded and what made Frank leave.
5-David's path to becoming the leader of the cannibals.
6-where Ellie was created in detail.
7-What happened after Ellie's. mother was infected.
8-What happened after Riley was infected.
9-how the outbreak started in more detail.
10-better explore each stage of the infection, and the capabilities of those infected.
11-How the government and the F.E.D.R.A. dealt with the outbreak.
12-how Cordyceps acts on the infected in more detail.
13-how the Jackson community was created.
in short: in my opinion this series is 3/10, it lacked a lot to add, and overall the biggest problem was the lack of development and the short length of the season, if it had at least 20 episodes and they fixed all the points, it would be a series 10/10, but of course this is just my opinion.

I really enjoyed it. Just like Rings of Power, it was overwhelmed by 1 star reviews, which is absurd. It was by no means a disappointment, even if anyone thinks it wasn’t the best, it was no small feat.
