Very helpful, I had the strokes within the first four minutes of your video. Thank you so much for showing this, because my daughter and I will make this to hold her school badge
Not sure why everyone is hating this video, firstly we should be pleased to be getting free help of this kind, & secondly I could follow it perfectly fine, I think she explained it very well and DID show by using the 4 colors the most important parts we need to know, I’m in my 40s, I’ve never done braiding of any type, so if I can ‘get it’ in under 2 mins i can’t see why anyone else is having issues. Thank you so much for the free good help 👍😘😘
VioletSkye19: Doesn't matter your age, whether you are 40 yo or 100 yo, or if you are Donald Trump, or if you got it done in 30 seconds; this kind of work needs to be explicit visually, especially to the first time doer. This is the kind of skill you need to have clearly explained, and if not, I can understand the frustration. The lady might have explained it perfect to you, but the average watcher got confused and irritated. How about simply trying to record the same work, but with the camera further up? as simple as that. I simply went to another video and got it understood.
What are you 2 talking about? Every comment I've seen are praising her for how clear this instruction video is.
Best video on CZcams on this topic. Thank you!
That's great for para cord!!!!! A lot easier than a lot of those videos!! Your awesome THANKS.....
Very handy for making custom cables and wires too! Thanks :)
Thank you so much everyone else was either not talking or not doing it how I needed it
Thanks, always nice to see an old video like this still helping people!
I had a hard time following other methods and yours got through to me, so thank you!!!
Oh Wow! I can't tell you how many times I have attemped this braid. But with this video, I can really see what I am supposed to do. Thank you so much! Notw to run to my stash and find my cording :D
great job Megan! the other vids of this one where confusing but you are a great teacher!
I've wondered for years how this was done!! Came upon this vid after watching something else .... so glad I found it! Thank you so much!!
good to see you added the subtitle here.
I need to re watch again everytime i want to make the braid. thank you
The cords are 1.4 x 3mm Diameter. You can get the supplies featured in our videos on Beadaholique . com's website. The links for the supplies in this video are located in the video description underneath this video.
Thank you...I couldn't do this braid before the video; I can do it now...Mission Accomplished..Good Job!
Thanks so much! Glad we could help!
THANK YOU for showing what you promised! You have no idea how many videos that claim 4 cord braids only use two....
Please... somebody mention her hands are in the way :-) I thought it was OK.
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I cant wait to start to try making one myself.
Just like challah bread! We used to make friendship bracelets like this in early grade school arts/crafts.
thanks, you helpt me out 2 years ago. and today you helpt me out again.
Your voice is quite soothing and relaxing. Excellent tutorial
You can get Microfiber Faux Suede Cord on Beadaholique . com's website. The links for the supplies in this video are located in the video description underneath this video.
Thanks for sharing this technique. This is really useful
Thanks! You just gave me so much inspiration!!
I can see just fine. Great vid. TFS ❤️👍
It will vary with the exact cord you're using and with your tension, but I've found that I lose about half my length in this braid. So to start with, try a little more than double your finished length.
Great video. You just saved me about $300 on a hat band!
Glad to hear this could help!
Thank you! Your video was the first one that actually made sense 😂 I was able to get the pattern down fairly quickly, tho tension took a few more tries haha
Happy we could help! Tension is always the trickiest part of these sorts of braids and it's also something that's difficult for us to show on camera, glad to hear you kept going and found it easier with practice!
Thank you I just started doing this and i have a lot to learn and your video was easy to understand .. i have the 4 strand box braid down and another round braid and I am Hooked this is very relaxing for me
Thankyou, possibly not the desired purpose but this is the perfect braid for simple whip making and i couldn't work out how to do it!!! Tar
your instructions were very easy to follow. thank you very much I always wanted to know how to do the round braid
Straight and simple, thanks.
Thanks. I appreciate it. Now I know how to braid leather in four strands.
Great Video - I easily got it right on my first try. The camera angle could have been a bit better but I had no problem following what you were doing. Thanks so much.
Thanks for your request, we'll add it to our request list. Please keep in mind, however, that this is a pretty specific application, and we do try to fulfill requests for more generally applicable techniques first.
You have beautifully proportioned hands.
Easiest tutorial I’ve found. Thank you!
Glad we could help, have fun!
Easy to follow, thank you.
I use E6000 to attach cord ends to braided and knotted projects.
I found this easy to follow after the first braid. Apparently most the people in the comments belong on the short bus? Thanks for showing. Now I can see what this would look like with satin cord as a pendant necklace.
thanks for the vid, good learning experience^.^
I am surprised by how many people out there can't understand easy instructions. I think you did very well! There are other videos out there if you don't like this one. The nice lady was kind enough to try to help you.
Thank you!
Thank so much for loading this. I have a good idea what to do with is. ^^
Thanks for the vid! It was really helpful.
Haters will be haters... I think she did a great job. Don't blame her if you can't follow simple instructions.
Thank you Peter...I hate to think everyone is angry and critical, but a lot are...Maybe Bead Beadaholique can Block some viewers...
Feel free to experiment with different types of cord. Keep in mind that it will not keep it's flat sides if you use a round cord instead of a flat cord.
Great tutorial, thank you. :)
Thanks!!! From Spain. ^^
I think a better description for this braid is - each side under 2 to the centre / then over 1.
saying over when she went under was driving me crazy haha
It is very simple, the camera should be aiming at the work from the top, perpendicular to the work in process. From a side, especially with the hands partially covering some of the steps is very confusing to the eyes, trying to follow the movements. The end result is perfect and the hands are nice looking, but I kind of ''lost the thread'' too because of the angle from which the camera was aiming.
The instructions for adding a cord end cap to this type of braid would be the same as for kumihimo. Check out our video: How to Tie Off and Finish Kumihimo Braid Ends for two different methods.
Thanks, I got it first try also. Wondered how it was done
Everything is a bit fidgety until you learn it. Huh? 💕💕💕 Love here!
Yep, for beginning braiders and beginning CZcamsr too! This one's pretty early days for us, but we're glad it's still helping some folks. Thanks for watching!
Very interesting!
Thank you! That was great.
Thanks, thats a great help!
Thank you very much !
Thanks
Make your braid a little longer than you need it to be. Then, when you're done, tightly wrap a piece of tape around the end while you hold it together. The tape should be right above where the braiding stops, so that it has a nice round, braided piece within the taped part. Then, use a pair of flush cutters to cut across the taped part, leaving enough tape to hold the ends together, but a short enough piece that the tape will be hidden by the cord end.
Could not see anything you were doing, your hands covered the cord
yea0h and she went to fast for me
take the leftmost and bring it around the middle two and through the center of them
what middle two? what center?? if your using colors say the colors name fgs
Pam Day dh
Really? All of you had trouble following that? OK, it may have been a little tough for the first couple, but if you just keep watching, you'll pick it up. It took one viewing, and I'm doing this myself now. Oh, and I'm a 38 yo male, who has never done anything like this before.
@@DarkKnightofThrones its a critique. If the poster is concerned about the content quality, they should consider these comments.
thanks so much !
This video was helpful, but hard to tell what was happening at some points because your hands were over the braid. Overall helpful but a little confusing! Thanks for posting 🙂
Suggestion: having the camera overhead would be better.
Thanks anyway though, nice and simple.
You could make this braid with round cord, but it will look different. It would not have flat, rounded sides, but would be kind of bumpy.
I think the best way to describe the method is "under two and over one"...the way you were saying it didn't seem to be what was being done. Super cute round braid though...
We have two project videos called "How to Make a Knotted Round Braid Anchor Bracelet" and "How to Use Cord End Caps" that might help you.
I suppose it's possible, but I can't say for sure. I've got very short hair, so I haven't ever tried!
excelent work thanks for show my, care
Could you make a tutorial on how to make a hole on the edges of cloth and braid with using 2 color only thanks. Great video
molto carino!
Something is horrible wrong when a human being doesn’t see this as one of the most beautiful moments between two of Gods most vulnerable beings that are meant to, designed to care for one another.
Very helpful Thank You! As a child, I used to make the 4 strand Square ones; but haven't tried any recently. Do you have tutorial for that one please?😄
I will pass along your suggestion to our design department.
@@beadaholique Thanks A Million!❤
Do another video of this but, wrap it around a corded rope. Four strand braiding around a cord rope.
Thank you!!!!!! :)
We do not have a video showing how to make a leash using this type of braid. Our expertise is in jewelry making, and our supplies are intended to be used for that purpose. I'm not sure how strong this type of braid with these materials would be for making a leash.
Maybe if I could see it I would be able to do it
Gorgeous braid. Meant only as a rid-bit of constructive criticism, I will convey that describing as an move UNDER the middle two strands with subsequent move OVER between them would more correctly describe this movement. Also, in explaining the importance of bring each piece into place, the wording might be best understood by describing it as keeping it FLUSH. Again, a beautiful braid and one I am anxious to try. Thank you!!
This! She keeps saying “bring over” when she’s going under.
The faux suede does not have a rough side, no. I'm not sure how you'd attach a snap to this sort of braid. I'm also not sure that you'd want to use it for a dog leash, it may not be strong enough.
The braid is lovely, but cannot see what you are doing because your hands are covering up the work.
me too, I couldn't see what you were doing........do you have a video where we can see what you are doing with the strands?
Sometimes all you can see is just your hands.
I was able to follow your video with no issues and was able to make my braid but where can I buy those clasps?
Do you have a video showing how to make a handle like a leash?
Thanks
Hands in the way the entire God damn time
thanks
geez am I the only one who didn't have any problem following this?
Ninjalectual nope the tutorial is perfectly fine, just some ppl feel it should be done to their exact specifications and for free !
I got it fine
So you have the braid completed, how do you attach the ends to the silver cord ends with it keeping its tension and not unraveling?
I thought I had seen a video of you demonstrating how this process is performed (ending the 4 cord and applying the ends), but I cannot find it. Do you have a link for this video you can share? Thanks!!!
if you are using the 4mm diameter cord ends, how thick are the cords? are they the same diameter? Thanks.
Wow, I don't get all of the griping. I can see just fine what you're doing. Yeah, your hands cover the work at times, but after each step you move your hands and the step becomes visible.
Really like the look of the demo color combo used. TFS the colors.
Suppose this would work with a narrow grosgrain ribbon?
How do you calculate how much lacing to use for a specific finished braided link? Don't remember you saying how much you used for the necklace or for the demo piece. Please advise.
Can we use diff types of string for this braid?
What kind of glue do you use to attach the ends to the claps?
could you show me/ us how to end the braid with out using any metal bits please?! :) x
Thank you very much!! What's thickness of the strand you're using?
i was wondering if i can use rounded cord instead of flat cord... will it work with same effect?
Could you please show this type of braid with an added strong core added for a dog show leash?
Thanks so much for the suggestion!
Would it be safe to assume that the wider the cord being used, the thicker the bracelet?
Jenifa Richards Yes, the wider the cord, the thicker the braid.
Does the faux leather have a smooth side and a rough side, like kangaroo leather? Also, can you tell me the best way to "finish" a braid that has a snap at the end and a handle at the other end? I want to make a dog leash...thanks!
could please make a vid tutorial on how to add connector???
How long do I have to cut if I want a 6 and a half inch long finished braid? Please answer.
Would you know how to make a band out of this for a diy I watch band? Maybe it’s more braids I see ?
You can find our watch strap adapters here: www.beadaholique.com/catalogsearch/result/?type=simple&q=Watch+Strap+Adapters
Ok, you start by saying 'under two then back over one', then you change to 'over two, back kne', so, did you change the braidi g part way through?
I could do the braid just fine... and english is not my first language.
