- These heads looked good but after running for a short time. They had major valve train noise and eventually I started using coolant. What a waste of time and money. They say they will take your old heads as cores no matter the condition. That's a bad thing in hindsight.
Thank you! I was considering this company, but I thought their prices were pretty cheap, this explains why.
Yeah stay away from them. These heads also had horrible valve train noise out of the box.
I too am very pleased to have watched this video BEFORE buying a replacement head from Cylinder Heads International. Can you recommend a reputable company to buy a replacement head from ??

Not online I would find a local machine shop.
you mention the head was warped. how did you not at least check for flatness before you installed these heads? a precision flat bar and some feeler gauges will run you less than $50.
btw, I'm very leery about buying cylinder heads when they're this cheap, but I'd be lying if I said I'm not considering giving them a shot LOL. I'm gonna swap out valve springs anyway, which would give me a good chance to check out their handiwork
That's shitty. They have a A+ rating with the better business bureau, did you contact them about this ? Warranty or not they might work with you , probably not but you don't know untill you try. I need a head for my vw but it looks like I'm gunna buy used of CL and have it rebuilt. Cost more but hopefully it will be worth it.
Totally worth the extra cost. You know what you have when you are done.
I have always gotten really good heads from them. Maybe it was a bad casting or maybe it was your fault... Im just saying!
