Falling Asleep with Prince Hal [Tom Hiddleston themed sleep ASMR]

It had been an exhausting day. Princess duties were not your favorite. It was court meeting after court meeting, then an archery and horsemanship lesson, and then some embroidery to finish the day off. It didn’t sound like a lot, but after the first hour of archery, you were aching.
When you were finally allowed to retire for the evening, you found yourself wandering to Prince Hal’s quarters. You knew you weren’t really supposed to be here, considering you had yet to be officially married. But you were betrothed to him, was that not nearly the same? When your father had decided to marry you away to the young prince, you had objected at first. King Henry, Hal’s father, was very sick. Thus, Hal needed to prepare to take the throne, and he needed a wife. A queen. Your father, a king, saw a political opportunity in this. But who would want an arranged marriage? You certainly didn't. Then you met him. An unruly prince with a tendency for hedonistic revelries. You immediately fell for him.
Your stomach fluttered as you wandered closer and closer to his room.
Was he there? You weren’t sure if you wanted him to be. Hell, you weren’t entirely sure why you were even going there in the first place.
The big wooden door was ornately carved. You ran your finger along one of the divots before quietly knocking. No answer. You tried again, this time a little louder.
“Come in,” a muffled voice called. You pushed your weight against the door and stepped inside.
A quiet gasp left you involuntarily.
Prince Hal was spread out on his bed, dressed in his nightshirt and tucked underneath a few silver furs. He had a book propped open and was thumbing through the pages. His lightly curly hair was a beautiful mess. The candlelight of the bedroom cast him in a golden glow. The sight made your knees weak.
He glanced you over as you timidly entered the room. “Oh, hello. I wasn’t expecting to see you here,” he mused.
You smiled. “Well, I wasn’t entirely expecting to end up here.”
He shut his book; his full attention now turned to you. “What brings you here, sweet princess?”
Your face grew hot when he called you that. “I missed you, I suppose.”
“Ah, well, we must remedy that. Hal clapped his hands together and pushed aside the fur blankets. “Come, join me.”
“Are you sure? I don’t want to impose if you’re busy,” you quickly said, glancing at the book he had been reading. It would be very improper if you and Hal were caught in bed together, whether it be one way or another.
“No, no, it’s alright. Lay with me,” he insisted.
You slid off your shoes and took off the overlayer of your dress in order to be more comfortable. Hal watched your movements with a hungry gaze.
As you finished getting the layers of dress off, you finally settled in next to Hal. He shuffled closer to you so that he could comfortably hold you in his arms. You very gently wrapped your own arms around his torso and laid your head on him. His nightshirt was open just a bit, allowing for the warm skin of his chest to heat your cheek.
His heart was beating steadily. A calm feeling washed over you.
He moved his hand to rest on the back of your head, and he began to lazily run his fingers through your hair. Your eyes fluttered. The exhaustion of the day was starting to wear at you more and more.
“Has the day been long for you?” He murmured.
You tried to nod, but his grasp on you made it so you couldn’t move too much. “Mmhm.”
“Are you liking your duties?” He tucked a particularly wayward strand of hair behind your ear.
You scoffed. “It’s just meetings after meetings. ‘Act this way, be this other way, straighten your posture, don’t pull the bowstring so far back!’ It’s just so many exhausting, Hal. I don’t know how you can put up with it all.”
“You find ways to cope. Perhaps we could spend some time together tomorrow, go for a ride maybe? I know of some fine mares in the stables that would be perfect for you.”
You smiled. “That sounds very nice.” You yawned and nuzzled closer to the young prince.
“Are you tired, my sweet?” He hummed.
“Mmhmm,” you sleepily mumbled. You could feel yourself already drifting off.
Hal pressed a gentle kiss to your forehead. You shivered even though you were underneath multiple blankets, plus the heat from Hal’s body was making you melt.
He noticed and pulled you in closer to him. He adjusted himself so that he was no longer sitting upright, but all the while, he didn’t let you go.
“Goodnight, sweet princess,” he murmured as he ran his fingers absentmindedly up and down your back. The movement was hypnotizing.
“Goodnight, my darling prince,” you mumbled, your face pressed against his chest.
The quiet sounds of you two talking were quickly replaced with a comfortable silence. All you could hear was the rain against the window, the occasional sounds from the hallway outside, and Prince Hal’s gentle heartbeat.
