- Abdur-Rahman ibn Awf (may Allah be please with him) was one of the close companions of Prophet Muhammad (may peace and blessings be upon him) and his life story is certainly one worth studying and emulating. He was one of the first eight people to accept Islam.

Just sharing my experience for motivation: for 7 years i couldnt make much money, had low energy and motivation - then last year i started to give with the intention that Allah is the Provider and I'm just distributing - also i tried to eat only from what i purchase. My money stayed dangerously low for a while and I kept giving, until I got so many interviews, sometimes 3 interviews in a day - finally got a job I can do alhamdulillah. This talk brings me tears, uncontrollably
Masha'Allah
MashaAllah may Allah provide you immeasurable wealth in this world and the next

“give with the intention that Allah is the Provider and I'm just distributing”. What a sentence. Jazakillahu khairan for sharing
Notes:
• 10 years younger to Prophet Muhammad (saw) - born 10 years after The Year of the Elephant.
• Was one of the soldiers who protected Prophet Muhammad (saw) during the Battle of Uhud after the archers left their post and the Muslims were under attack.
• One of those granted the glad tidings of Paradise.
• Died in 31 or 32 Hijri; was 75 years old, buried in Baqi and Uthman (ra) prayed over him.
• One of the 6 committee members who were to decide the next Khalifa after Omar (ra).
• Was extremely wealthy; started a small business and grew it slowly and organically with hard work.
o Bought a camel with rope around its neck; he onsold the camel and kept the rope. Repeated process until he sold a number of ropes to buy a camel.
• Was extremely generous with sadaqa without regret.
• Was not wasteful and was grateful.
• Had complete trust in Allah (swt).
• Give sadaqa to become wealthy, as opposed to giving sadaqa when wealthy.
• Best side business is regular and consistent sadaqa; this purifies your wealth as well as receiving rewards from Allah (swt).
• Sadaqa becomes far easier when it is detached from one’s heart and is merely an object in one’s hand.
• Give gratitude / thanks / shukr to Allah (swt) with humility and be dignified.
• Do not be distracted and arrogant by one’s wealth.
• Be content and ensure all financial dealings are Halal.

These Dinars you are talking about are actual gold coins and NOT the plastic cards and paper money of today is that correct?
Yes

I suspect a simple, and more accurate, explanation would be consistently accumulating, or keeping deposits/savings of, the difference between his revenues and costs/expenses over time.
40 000 dinar
20 dinar =2 000pounds
10 dinar =1 000 pounds
1dinar = 100 pounds
So 40 000 dinar =40 000 X 100 =
4 000 000 pounds
£4,000,000
One wife =80 000 = 8 million pounds
Three wives equals 240=1/8th
240 x 8 = 1920 thousand dinar
Equals 1 920 000 000 pounds =billionaire
1920 million pound is in only gold and beside this He also has properties, animal,

Assalamoalaikum i want to ask a little question to clear my confusion!, you mentioned at 10:15 saad ibn e rabbie and at 10:38 amar ibn e rabbie, are they two different people? who tied up with Abdur-Rahman ibn Awf (may Allah be please with him) by Prophet Muhammad (may peace and blessings be upon him)!
He was actually Saad inn Rabia (Ra) wo was paired with Abdul Rahman bin Auf (Ra) in Madina...

Brother, Assalaamu alaikum. I just have a doubt and I hope you'll take it in a positive manner. Abdur Rahman ibn aur(radiallahu anhu) never sold anything on credit but he(r.a), when came to madina, took a camel on credit and sold it to someone else. I dint get this thing. I appreciate if you clear this. Jazakallahu khair.
The same Question I have...
I have the same question!
He took it on credit as a loan without interest. While mentioning him not taking anything on credit the shaykh was talking about dealing with interest.
Credit and interest is not the same
Salam Shaykh isn’t his grave in Amman ?

I am a bit confused, for the same Sahabi, you gave an example where he literally sold on credit (ie the ropes he was collecting), then the same sahabi says I never engaged on selling on credit ? Please explain, sincere question.
He did buy horses or camles with ropes, but sold them immediatelly without the ropes.
The ropes were his profit.

Please clarify the proof of Abdur Rahman ibn awf r used to sell tie rope of camels.
Just thought, if AbdurRahman Bin Awf is so much wealthy so why it happened that story about Abu Hurayra and the 70 people of Suffa. it was narrated that Abu Hurayra did not have food for 3 days and when he accompanied to Rasulollah salallahu alaihi wasallam there was nothing in the house of the Prophet except that bowl of milk given by a sahabi. if there was a philanthropist like Abdurrahman bin awf, that story should not had been narrated. Allah knows best
Just like Alcohol was Halal in early days of Islam and then later it became Haram just like that there was poverty in early days but not that much poverty in later days. We are talking in the span of 23 years. They were not all poverty years. At the start, life was much more challenging then later towards end of life of Prophet Muhammad pbuh.
How about the scammers? You still give them?
of course no
Islam requires you to be wise not some stupid. Quran itself says in many verses "Don't you have wisdom..."

I agree with what you say, but in modern days is there anyone ready to offer me a camel and I will repay them later. :) I think times changed and we need to adjust to modern reality.
Of course we do. It's called interest free loans. I know of people that have purchased a house by borrowing money or even started businesses. If you don't have people like that around yourself then you need to sort out your circle of friends. Or maybe you are like that, this is why you are surrounded by such people. Apologies if I am coming across rude but it really gets me when people are so negative. Be thankful and Allah will give you more. Negativity is just killing yourself slowly!
@@khatali9881 you are definitely rude and you are like that angry person. Please work with psychologist. You need one. We don’t have interest free loans in my country. Have you earned much money already? Interesting to hear about your story. I would definitely sort you out of my circle.
@@khatali9881 i really don’t care what gets you. Why would I? Don’t read my comments. How do you know how thankful I am to Allah? Let Allah decide if I am thankful or not. You just angry person attacking others around.
