    Thanks for the Good Info. On the 1964-D Jefferson thats graded PCGS MS66FS, The fs stands for full steps designation which makes this coin more rare and valuable. The grading companies will assign a full step designation on the nickel as long as they have at least five steps visible at the base of Monticello on the reverse without any disturbance of the steps. Any major disturbance or interruption of these steps or lines, whether caused by contact, planchet problems, or another source, will result in the coin's not being designated FS. Only the slightest weakness on any step (line) is allowed for this designation. The 64-D is listed in the PCGS price guide when graded at that level, as 1,350 for 66FS and only 30 for a 66 without full steps. The top level grade 66+ without full steps is 550 so still quite lower than with full steps. The most recent sale on heritage auction for PCGS MS66FS was $1,020.00 on Feb 16, 2021 while a 1964-D 5C MS65 Full Steps PCGS sold for $504 so grade also does matter as you mentioned.

    “Full Steps” is a grading designation used for circulation strike Jefferson Nickels which have at least five full steps visible at the base of Monticello on the reverse. Broadly speaking, the designation is used to identify coins which have been fully struck. In order to receive the designation, there must be no disturbance of the steps due to strike weakness, contact marks, or planchet problems.

      Without seeing it, I have to use esp and check it based on karma. That 1 cent coin has had a hard life but has a beautiful aura. That coin warned people of.the Great War but no one listened to it because of it's small face value.
      Never judge a coin based on its face! This coin misses other coins and wants to be graded and then thrown into a volcano.

    • @DataDragon00
      @DataDragon00 Pƙed 3 lety +3

      Besides the joke reply well its worth at least a nickel!, I would check out the pcgs website price guide for one place to start where you can get a basic idea of what a graded version is worth in different grades, graded as a lowly Good4 a type 1 might be worth 14, a 40 might be worth 24, but mint state examples fetch much more MS63 at 57, MS65 at 130, MS67 at 775 and a MS68 was worth 8,500. For the first year of issue 2013, the Buffalo Nickel was produced in two distinct types. The original or Type 1 design features the buffalo standing on a raised mound. The revised or Type 2 design features the buffalo standing on a flat plane or line. The main purpose of the redesign was to place the inscription “FIVE CENTS” within a recessed area so it would not wear away quickly in circulation. (BOTH SAY FIVE CENTS). The 1913 Type 1 Buffalo Nickel was struck in slightly higher numbers, with production of 30,992,000 at Philadelphia, 5,337,000 at Denver, and 2,105,000 at San Francisco. Generally speaking, each of these coins is more readily available than the type 2 counterpart of the same mint mark.
      For the second type, production was 29,857,186 at Philadelphia, 4,156,000 at Denver, and 1,209,000 at San Francisco. Both the “D” and “S” mint mark coins are considered semi-key dates for anyone assembling a circulated set. Each of the coins is more conditionally challenging in mint state grades and command premiums above the type 1 versions. Often these coins will be less fully struck, a problem that would persist for later years of the series.
