Order ChemKnits Chanukah yarn - chemknitscreations.etsy.com/?section_id=25065368 Tonight's video is 42 min long
seeing these alltogether makes me think of the Earth. So lovely.
This is the mini I like the best. I have been excited to see the dying process. I hope everyone had a great time with the live chat. I had a tutoring class so I was not able to watch live. Update on my crochet project. I am making Hat, Mittens, and Scarf for a 2 yo. boy. The hat was done over a week ago. The mittens were finished last night. I had started the scarf last night. I have 1/4 of it done.
The chat was fun last night! I won't be in the live chat this evening (small chance I can pop in but I don't know if I'll be at my computer if family is still over) but I plan to leave the chat open on my computer so I can see it after the fact.
Your videos are SO instructive on so many levels! And the results are both fascinating and very pleasing.😊
Thank you so much! It is really lovely to hear this.
It’s really interesting to see how one technique can give such varied results!
Thank you so much!
Beautiful! This one really talks to me!
Missed the premiere again, ack 🙃 But my yarn is so pretty! I know I'm gonna miss tonight's premiere, too, and I'm gonna wait till I can watch it to open my next package. Thanks for all you do, Rebecca!
You're very welcome, Beth!!
So pretty! My favorite part is always the yarn mops! Hahaha
Also, it definitely gives me Monet’s water lilies.
Oh thank you! The yarn mops here are soooo pretty www.chemknits.com/2019/07/the-best-tools-equipment-for-dyeing.html
Idea for twisting for resist: opposite the zip tie, hang the hanks from a dowel. Twist from the zip tie, then remove and lay it in the pan. Maybe more control of the top and bottom twist that way?
Ooooooo this is an interesting idea!
Those all turned out so very pretty
The colorway you made reminds me of a peacock 🦚🦚🦚
OOo I love this!
That is a beautiful fade set!
Thank you so much!
So far, I like this best. These seem to be about my favorite mixes of colors together. Gorgeous! Thank you again.
You are so welcome!
If you put a beginner kit of colors in either brand or a mix together, I’d buy it!
@16:17 Hey, we don’t kink shame! Hahaha 😂
LOL
This colorway reminds me of the waterfall inspiration picture.
I can see that! Ooooo!
Absolutely gorgeous!
Thank you!
This ocean colorway is beautiful
Thank you so much!
I would just like to have time to have a go at some of these dyeing techniques. Lol
They're a lot of fun, I promise.
I love love love these colors - though I’d overdye because I don’t like white patches in my knitting
Lots of beautiful dark green patches in the mini I got
I was (happily) surprised with how much green there was still in the skeins
Sun light dappled stream colorway
Oh yes!
Will there be green tonight? One can hope. 😊
I don't know ;)
Is there a list somewhere (or would you publish one?) with the specific colors you recommend buying as a starter kit? You mentioned some in a general list, but not the specific colors.
Also, that might be a cool video: equipment and colors to buy for beginner dyers, what to add when you feel more confident, etc.
This would be a great idea for a video! I think that I'm neutral on color names because there are good options in multiple different brands. Here is a list of my favorite tools and equiment that I love for dyeing yarn. www.chemknits.com/2019/07/the-best-tools-equipment-for-dyeing.html
Do you have a video that shows what the terms are that you use, and what they mean?
I don't think I do specifically, but I do try to reply to questions in the comments. (I don't always see replies to comments I've already answered, so if you start a new comment thread then I might see it and then can respond. I sort comments by new and "I haven't responded" to check for questions.)
