Happy Wednesday, folks! I thought I'd film a vlog last week. How are you all? What have you been up to recently? Let me know. xx
SORRY! About my nasty comment, Jen. I was feeling fed up. No offence meant.
I love that you didn’t put music over the clips that had no speech, it’s so calm and relaxing this way! I’m seeing a trend where CZcamsrs are putting loud music over clips, even when they are speaking, and it’s a bit too much for my high sensitivity.
I'm a highly sensitive person too, and feel exactly the same way
THat’s so true about children-especially young ones. When my daughter was about 4, we were in church, and, at the most quiet moment, she said, in her best outside voice, “Mommy, I’d rather be at the grocery store!”
Cheryl Clough yes my son too. He waited till there was a pause in the preaching and in a loud voice " Mommy, I am so bored!". And he had a loud voice. And he grew up and became a stand up comic. So happy ending after all.
Whattt... the washable colouring table cloth is super cool. You will get extra aunty points😄.
To be honest, I’d quite like one myself 😂 x
Every single time I watch one of your blogs I have such unbelievable mug envy.
Hi Jen! My (half-) sister turned last week and it's crazy how fast she grows up. I almost can't remember the time when she was a baby! I love when you get presents for your nephew and niece, I think you are a fantastic aunt to them!
That fairy tale jigsaw is fantastic! I so enjoy your vlogs, even when you don't film the event, listening to you talk about it is thrilling. It's obvious you're a natural storyteller. That crystal maze game sounds fun. Tell us about it.
Have a great month, Jen!
These are my favorite videos... just feel like we are hanging out chatting. What is tiger bread?
THE MOST DELICIOUS THING ❤️ some info: “The bread is generally made with sesame oil, which gives it a distinct aroma, and with a pattern baked into the top made by painting rice paste onto the surface prior to baking. The paste dries and cracks during the baking process. The rice paste crust also gives the bread a distinctive flavour.”
Jen Campbell oh my!!! That sounds spectacular... I’m going to have to find a recipe... thanks..❤️
That child's work sounds so charming. They're so beautifully inquisitive about everything and it's lovely. I've been swamped this week with grading essays for my professor, working out a kink in a poem I'm working on (I fear the idea outweighs the current skill), and working on classwork. I've also taken on a new responsibility and volunteered to help the history department at my university catalogue things from a writer's home in the mountains which I'm very excited about. I hope you're well and can take a moment to breathe. X
Lovely to see your spring weather, currently we are getting snow again. I am longing for spring rain and that bright spring green.
Total delight to watch Jen as always . We are blessed to be able to watch and listen to you .
My! My! My! I literally commented on your most recent Instagram post to make a vlog on the beautiful weather there but I stopped typing because I didn't want it to be a burden on you, since vlogging is a little bothersome and your health must always come first. But now you gifting me with this is like the universe trying to reach out to me whispering "here...thank you for your kind thought". It's a reminder that good things happen when we do or think good. Thank you universe. And above all, thank you Jen. I'll have a good night sleep now. And take care. 🤗
❤️ what a coincidence! Have a lovely evening April x
Jen Campbell ❤❤
I’ve got a horrible cold so this video is really helpful because I needed something beautiful and calm to watch while I feel sorry for myself 🥰
Aww, I hope you feel better soon! x
This is such a calming and beautiful video. I really enjoyed watching it. Thanks so much ☘️☘️
these videos of yours are always so relaxing 💕
This vlog was so calming in a way. I hope you're well!
Aw I really enjoy it when you do a vlog! Feels like we see a little more of you, lovely video 😊
This was so lovely! ❤️
I can’t get tiger bread here and seeing you talk about it made me YEARN. What fabulous stuff and a fabulous woman. I get the health overwhelm, to the extent that I can and am with you. Xxxxx
Jen, I needed this today. Thank you x
Hope you're doing ok x
This felt super cosy 😊 thank you for sharing tea with us! 🌸💕🎀 xx
Thank you for stopping by ❤️
You are a true inspiration for me. Happy women’s day🌻
Happy women's day to you, too!
I have saved the storytale puzzle, my daughter would love that! Great that you're doing so much work with kids.
Lovely vlog, I really enjoy these.
And wooow you do your taxes every month! I do mine anually, but I will do it in April, not leave it until Jan, like some husbands I could mention!
I can't stop giggling about that giant rabbit 🤣
Once again, thank you for coming to Macclesfield last week, your workshop was most beneficial and wondrous, and I'm glad you got to the Southbank Centre in time. I like the idea of getting the story box for my nephew but he always favours the villains and I'm concerned about some of the stories he would come up with - he still believes the Very Hungry Caterpillar eats the butterfly in the end. I understand the uneasiness surrounding hospital appointments, but have found that scones make a great antidote. But that may be because my grandmother has always been a big proponent for the healing properties of baked goods. Thank you for sharing your week with us, I hope this one is proving to be most fantastic.
Scones are always the answer! It was lovely to come and see you all. x
When I grow up, I want to be like you
There is never too much tiger bread! Such yummy stuff. Hope you've been having a lovely week! x
I'm currently busy with the Bradford Literature Festival. which I can't wait to see you at!
I will see you there! x
I love it
Lovely. Thanks :)
OMG I love the idea of the story puzzle pieces and they would be perfect for my partner's class (she is a year 1 teacher), I might try to make some! Maybe some blank ones would be good so the kids and/or a supervising adult could draw their own tiles and mix them in with the pre-made ones?
I generally use them to aid with verbal storytelling, so they have to describe what they see and link everything together. After that, I move on to blank storytelling sheets and they come up with their own things. I find that progressions works well.
Love your vlogs :-)
Thank you x
Lanny!!! The best evening
Hi Jen. My daughter whose 7 dressed as a pirate queen for world book day. She was Grace' O Mally. She'd love the table cloth and the maze book. Happy birthday to your nephew. Great blog
Happy world book day!
I love hearing the stories from children! I'm a teacher and for World Book Day today they dressed up, listened to stories, created their own and also acted them out. It's just such a solid day for appreciating the joy of literature. I'm glad you're enjoying the interactions with and teaching of children. Do you have any tips for teaching poetry writing to children? What sorts of resources or structure of teaching did you use? x
Hi Eliza, I use lots of different things depending on what sort of workshop I'm running and what year groups I'm teaching. I make my own resources and worksheets. Yesterday I was focused on merging storytelling and poetry with an emphasis on fairy tales, so I used Roald Dahl/Deborah Underwood etc and went from there. I lead with information, questions and examples, then get them to work in groups followed by individual projects so that we gradually get more focused as the lesson progresses.
@@jenvcampbell Thank you for sharing. I like that you get the children to collaborate but also create their own work.
Thanks for sharing your week. Like Mr M i'm suffering from the attack of pollen. In my case it turns into walking pneumonia if im not careful. Loved the tea cup very beautiful my mom used to collect teacups. And how many people want that color me world map table cloth
I hope your hay fever settles soon; it’s no fun! x
Would be interested in doing another short story collection recommendations video?
I’ll certainly do that at some point.
Thank you, your channels how I got hooked on them
The comment about 5 year olds was so funny and so true.
So brutal, ha x
I'm not even a minute in Jen, and I'm shocked you put the milk in while the bag is still steeping!?
I always keep it in in case I accidentally put too much milk in and need it to stew for longer ☺️
What's tiger bread?
THE MOST DELICIOUS THING ❤️ some info: “The bread is generally made with sesame oil, which gives it a distinct aroma, and with a pattern baked into the top made by painting rice paste onto the surface prior to baking. The paste dries and cracks during the baking process. The rice paste crust also gives the bread a distinctive flavour.”
I wish I liked drinking tea just so I could own mugs as beautiful as yours.
Working too hard on my mermaid here. But would you think of doing a live video, we could write a children's, making suggestions and you could moderate. A story about what happens when you eat tiger bread. Don't really know what that is really
