Getting any rank is acquired by getting enough points in the level. You can get either a D, C, B, A, or S Rank based on your performance at the end. Getting to B isn't too difficult if you're aiming for most of the collectibles in a level, but if you want to hit S rank you will have to pull up some leg work.
To get a P Rank in a level, it is expected that you do the following things within one run of any level:
Kill an enemy before leaving the first room
Get enough points for an S Rank
Find all toppins
Find all secrets
Get the secret treasure
Go through the Lap 2 portal
Never drop your combo once - Zábava
The hardest part of this level isn't the lava. It isn't the cutters. It isn't even the flyfish.
It's Peppino's ability to climb walls when you *specifically don't* want him to.

Especially in the extremely claustrophobic part and the part after you get the mushroom toppin god i hate that
for readers out here, execute a grab then immediately turn the other way, saved me so many goddamn attempts

He also has pleased, shown when getting the true ending.

This was the first level I hurt Peppino enough to get the weird TV screens. I thought this was what the pizza head meant when they said, "You can go to hell."

The constant barrage of toppings make it easier by just spamming x
i've found that it actually helps to slow down and take your time in that particular secret room. there's enough toppings scattered throughout to make sure your combo is still maintained despite not going as fast as possible
It's actually completely trivial to get all toppings in here hitless if you just walk except for the parts where you need to go up a wall. Seems hard for an actual speedrun in a category that has to do it, though.
Seeing someone make so much mistakes and still get that sweet P gives me a mot of hope for whenever I inevitably are going to try this level
Every time I see a P rank of a SAGE level it just goes to show how much the game has dramatically improved.
SAGE felt like the developers were constantly trying to fuck you over at every turn. Here it feels more designed for fun and pacing.
The combat was also changed so many times, until they changed it for this simpler approach to emphasize on going fast
Today i S ranked the SAGE levels (dont know if there is P rank, i doubt because i pretty much did perfect runs for the three of them) and tbh, even those levels doesnt feel that obnoxious to be fair.
The cheese guys with forks are definitely the "fuck you" guys, but i never really felt like something was unfair, nothing annoyed me either, but i totally agree its incredible to see how everything is more refined on the oficial release.
My point is, the levels where really thight on that demo, they really could just launch the game with no changes on those levels, but the devs went the extra mile and polished the hell off them, its just so mind blowing.
@@Daryom for P-rank, you just have to find every secret, get the secret treasure, enter the pizza portal (which sends you back to when you destroyed pillar john, which is lap 2.), and keep your combo from the beginning of the level to the end.
this level is NOT a good example thinking that this has the most bullshit

0:14 *runs fast and then gently stops to hit the forknight*
2:05 this part ended my run so many times, the distance between the last points in the secret section and the next one's is so massive
Just let the enemy near the secret area live, so when you exit you can immediately kill him saving your combo.
yeah, I kept losing runs there too, but instead I just rerouted it to the end of the 1st lap so it put me into a better position with enemies.

I recently P Ranked every stage, and honestly? The whole experience made me absolutely LOVE Bloodsauce Dungeon.
The constant barrage of quick drifting jumping and parrying challenges along with a really cool escape sequence where you actually want to wall run just made me really click with Bloodsauce.
I NEVER want to play this level again. Jesus finally P ranked it.
After finally p-ranking this level, i can say for certain that this is the hardest fucking level on floor 1. Specfically wanna wish whoever decided to make such a huge gap between secret 2 and the descent into the next part of the level to spill water on their keyboard.
Weirdly enough, whenever I lost my combo, it was always during Pizza Time. Also, just leave an enemy alive so you can keep your combo.
The feeling you get when you see S go to a P is intensely nerve wracking yet relieving

difficulty is fine tuning skills to be able to match the challenges ahead. this level is just uninspired cheap hits and combo breaks

P ranking this level was the most satisfying thing I experienced in world one. in all the world one P rank's I got, nothing felt better. pizza face was right behind me too, so it felt like getting a dog, a mansion and a yacht combined. truly amazing
Had the same experience, but instead of Pizza Face, a clock saved my combo by frames
This was probably the first real challenge of the P ranks, but it was one of the most fun.
I thought that too but I P ranked it with less attempts than in pizzascape and ancient cheese lol

In this one, the secret to success is actually dodging points until neccassary. I don't know how many times I've screwed myself over because I left myself toppingless on lap 2.

P Ranking this level and failing consistently has proven to be one of the most infuriating experiences I've had in recent memory.
It's ok but kind of bland to play casually

Absolutely FUCK P Ranking Vertical centric or tight spaced levels in this game. It's just one giant middle finger
the worst part for me was the 2nd secret, which you can just save for lap 1
yea that 2nd secret can go fuck itself, if ur not a shinespark god there is nothing waiting for you when you come out of it and u just lose the combo to poor foresight
@@cyandizzy yes, the 2nd secret is hell, even getting to it requires precise timing (I play on controller and moving while charging up super jump is hell) and the aftermath too, I usually just save a flying fish to kill it after I got out of the secret
i ended up getting secret 2 on the way back instead
Agreed, i am trying to S/P rank this level but it's genuienly infuriating when one of the enemies just so coincidently doesn't get stunned when you charge at him and you manage to lose your combo and time because of that or when you have to make extremely sharp moves to get anywhere which also can make you lose your combo.
The first level in the game to have an level exclusive enemy

The fact you can make it with over 20 seconds to spare while I currently can't even make it to the final room without Pizzaface showing up... the vertical movement makes this level beyond brutal. Even though I can P-Rank this level, it's the most uncomfortable one for me in the first floor. Good stuff to you.

4:15 i was expecting the enemy scream from the sage 2019 demo
I spent 3 hours almost trying to prank this stage. I swear to Christ that is has some of the tightest execution lines that in one part after the 2nd secret room you have to make sure you don't kill one of the anchovies just so that your combo will last like a second longer. And I always lose my combo during lap 2 or before John. Like if it was a life or death situation and you had to prank any pizza tower stage just don't make it this one. But I'm sure I'll get it tomorrow. Cheer me on for good luck!

Those tight corridors killed so many runs for me while P ranking this level.

The part after the second secret has been my biggest run killer
In my opinion, one of the best tortures
I spent like 3 hours trying to get a P-Rank on that stage , mainly because of the anchovies that keeps screwing me over. I feel the escape is easier than getting down.
it really is, the only thing that can mess you up on the escape is really the lava. getting down is such a pain because of how terrible the secret placement is. personally idk what they were thinking with this level, it's "difficult" in a super tedious and boring way rather than challenging in a fun way
bro i hate that one sausage guy that spawns when you go back, he has hit me so many times i cant count and also for a faster run you could shinespark that part where theres a platform with a saw next to it

when i was doing a p rank run for this one i was shaking so hard thinking it would be another failed run.
I like bloodsauce normally but trying to p rank it was hell I got so close one time and pizzaface got me so I uh cheated and somehow still got the achievement for p ranking all floor 1 levels should also mention the rage helped me p rank pepperman

Tips for easy P Rank
Let the second secret room, the first toping and the treasure room for the pizza time, it's way easier than doing everything before reaching Pillar Jhon
I'd say this level is in the top 3 hardest p ranks
Taunt to avoid pizza cutter was insane
Peppino is the best skyscrapers climber
DUDE, THIS GUY IS A FUNKIN LEGEND, BLOODSAUCE DUNGEON TOOK ME 27 TRIES TO TAS, KEEP IN MIND THE GAME IS RUNNING AT 0.125 SPEED AND YET IT STILL TOOK ME 27 TRIES. I HAVE 10 GB WORTH OF FAILED ATTEMPTS FOOTAGE HOLY SH!T.

Lap 2 is very hard in this level, and i love it and hate at the same time because its so closed and easy to find your path cuz you just go down (up when escaping) but its hard to follow it, has the most annoying enemies in the game and has no peppino tranformations.

I only like this level for one reason, instead of a liner left and right layout, its a hellscape like up and down layout, like an old school game.
This is the first floor why is it so damn annoying to P rank, especially compared to the other 3 levels

Sage demo's version of bloodsauce dungeon was my least favourite level of the demo, but the new version is one of the most fun levels to play

How do you do that little pirouette at 0:07 that cancels your forward momentum during a Mach-speed jump? Would save me so many goddamned headaches trying to S-rank if I stopped accidentally wall-running whenever I needed to drop straight downwards without necessarily body-slamming.
Just turn to a different direction while grabbing, ie if your grabbing to the left then turn right in the middle of the dash to cancel momentum

I s-ranked all world 1 levels and i decided to do all achievemnts including the p rank, i p-ranked all levels even completed pepperman without being hit and ive spent way too much time trying to p-rank it, probably more than 2 hours. And diferentely from ancient cheese i would get super frustated whenever i lost a combo so i would say this level is my least favorite in the entire
Obviously i p-ranked few stages right now when commenting but the fact this level is on FLOOR 1 and the game excpects it to be one of the first stages you p-rank is absurd
Also the achievemnts suck too especially the lava one

I really don't like this level, the first-half takes way too long and the fun part when you get to climb at like Mach 5 speed only last for like 20 seconds.
so many people hate this level and i really don't get why, it's one of the weaker ones (my least favorite was personally R-R-freezerator) but i still enjoyed it
the only reason why this is one of my most disliked levels is because of the vertical level geometry, it takes a while to get used to and most of the time it screws me over
this level was hard to p rank for me it took millions of tries.
how do you cancel your momentum in the air? i did it acidentally once i never knew how to do it again.
When you're doing the diagonal dive if you hit jump it'll kill the momentum and send you straight down
