The Little Rissington UFO: Britain's X-Files

- In 1952, two British pilots saw unidentified flying objects from their cut-of-the-edge jet fighter. These were also detected on radar. What were they? Secret Cold War technology? Something else? And why were the files sealed for 50 years? This is a case for...Skelly and Mulder.

Holy crap! I lived in a house at RAF Little Rissington around 1990 or so! Wished I still lived there! Beautiful area. Never heard this story even mentioned while we were there!
I’ve said this elsewhere but I’ll say it again here, because it is documented fact. In late 1944, early 1945, US 8th and 9th Airforce Bomber Crews, started to report seeing “Flying Discs” and “Flying Balls of Light” that intercepted and then tracked, their Bomber Raids. These UFO’s did not attack the Bombers, just tracked them and the Bomber Crews named them “Foo Fighters”.
As the number of “Foo Fighter” reports escalated, the US Airforce took peremptory action and moved a Squadron of “Black Widow” Night Fighters, from the Pacific Theatre into England and the ETO. This Squadron was given the job of riding with the Bomber Raids, taking Officers of the Office of Strategic Services (forerunner to the CIA) with them, who would separately report on any such events.
The OSS Officers corroborated what the Bomber Crews were reporting, Flying Discs and Flying Balls of Light were a thing....no one was hallucinating, these objects were for real.
The operators of the Foo Fighters were, of course, the Germans. At wars end the Americans and Russians, along with ourselves, policed up as much of the Germans advanced material and the scientists behind it, as we could, the US Operation for this was codenamed Paperclip.
My point: Before wars end the Germans were already flying Discs and Balls of Light and we knew this. At wars end, a lot of this technology and the people responsible for it, were policed up and transferred to America. Is it any wonder then, that if the Germans were already flying Discs and Balls of Light in 1944/45, we shouldn’t be witnessing something similar that bit later on? No, of course not.

I am Spaniard and this made me remember a similar story, there was this old tape recording my uncle (a air traffic controler) shared with my dad one day when I was a kid, in the tape air control tell the pilots about a strange object they detected, when the pilots go there to invenstigate they see a mysterious round aircraft, the moment they got closer they UFO starts flying at a insane speed and the pilots eventually miss it. This stories must help us to undestand that UFO sithings is not something that only happens to crazy rural americans, but even people with very serious formation have seen very weird stuff in the sky.

A'reyt Catherine. I do not claim to have seen anything from an alien origin, but I did see orange glowing objects seeming to fly in formation, turn through 90 degrees, back again on their original direction, all without changing speed, from here in Yorkshire. I was out looking for Perseids on a lovely evening in August, some years back. My girlfriend had been standing outside, looking at the view, so I was hoping to show her one of the shooting stars, not expecting anything strange. A check on the internet showed that someone else saw them down in Rotherham.
A month or so later, just after sunset, I was going into Tesco and happened to look up, seeing someone looking up as they exited the shop. The woman asked if I had seen what she had. I confessed I had and that I saw them once before. She was as scared on hearing this, as I imagine she might have been to have seen one of the tripods from War of the Worlds and she ran terrified to her car. It was not what you would imagine from a Yorkshire lass. Happen she was from an alien county?

5:26 there were saucer-shaped VTOL hovercraft around this time. While the models we have video of only hovered a few feet off the ground, It’s plausible that there was an actual flight model to do high altitude tests. If its research that was not used during the cold war - it would have remained classified to keep for the future just in case.
The US military has unclassified files on almost every theoretical situation & technology, including advanced space travel & wormholes. These documents where lay out what is based in fact, what would be needed to be researched, and how one would possibly peruse that goal. It’s not kooky conspiracy theories, but actual reference material to be prepared for any speculative situation.
On top of that, you have the well known over-classification problem. Things that should be unclassified over time just aren’t unless there is a concerted effort to unclassify them. Even then, there are rooms of archived documents in museums that have not been sorted through.
So with this circumstantial evidence, I hypothesize it’s more likely than not that some combination of NATO countries flight tested a saucer shaped aircraft and it was scrapped. The research remained classified to keep it in the military’s back pocket just in case it became useful again.
I point to the Bell Aerosystems Lunar Landing Research Vehicle to prove such vehicle is able to be “flown”. While it relied on better technology than the ten years prior to this sighting, it proves the concept of such a craft.
