Made a little video of my first piece of real estate that I have purchased. I plan to move my tiny house onto it but am open to other suggestions so leave a comment on what you think I should do with it!
@@Outdoorfamily. no👀 unless you have certain state licenses for growing it for cbd use in stores and that all has to be inside a legal greenhouse he would have to build. Other than that might as well throw a mobile home or small wooden shack out their and air bnb it
I love how happy you seem about it. I bought my own lot in 2017 and I'm STILL excited about it!! Land is one thing that no one is making more of!! Happy for you and hope you keep developing it into what you envision!! Congratulations!!!!
Im 19 years old, I plan on buying my first lot in the next couple of months. Currently looking for a tiny home. Great video! Please make more videos about your journey it’s inspiring.
Build your tiny home it’ll be cheaper than buying one. Thank about it it’s just like buying shirts. Most manufacturers pay $5 per tee but will charge you $35 for the shirt.
Me to I been buying things lil by lil for the inside gonna start purchasing material when I get my taxes but I'm gonna build mines myself. How's it going with you luv
Start look on Craigslist, for a free single or double wide trailer, can find them regularly on their ($1500) to move it, with some minor repairs, it's a great place, congrats !
I own a residential lot in central Florida I picked up cheap a few years ago. It faces a nature preserve and is on a street with no houses. It's a great location near great parks, retail and close enough to major city centers. Its on a dirt road but the road is firm. I carved out a clearing and driveway I compacted with shell rock. I did some landscaping for privacy and put in a natural perimeter fence and even a small pond. It very private, secure and pretty with outdoor seating and sun sail shades. Because it has no house the 100x100 foot print feels like a huge oasis. I've off grid van life camped on the lot many nights in my converted van. I have a shallow well and I compost. My understanding about Florida Law is I cannot "live" on the lot long term as it does not have a dwelling, septic tank or an occupancy license. Though I think I could easily get a way with it as nobody would even know I'm there and so it would be very hard for 9-5 county code inspectors to prove I am doing anything wrong or even get a search warrant. Anyways, I am wondering If I can safely rent out the lot on the premise that renter will follow all the laws (wink-wink) and not make any permanent changes, sublease, use it for storage or run a business from it? The intention would be to plead ignorant to code or zoning enforcement if my tenant is ever reported. Assuming this sketchy business model is doable and works, sure I would think a certain type of person would rent a lot like this for $400/mo given any small apartment is going 3x that. Thoughts? Risks? I know if I ask the county they will just say NOPE, YOU CAN'T DO THAT , yet I see countless code and zoning violations within 3 miles of me.
You can legally be on your land at any time. even over night. Code enforcement is not 24 hour monitoring, they have a normal life and job and can't afford to watch you. If your land is semi remote with no neighbors it's even harder for them to police. Where code enforcement usually gets people is if they build, park an RV, leave garbage, waste, cars or animals on your land... if you do none of that, its impossible for them to know for sure or serve you a citation. Around where I'm at I see boats, trucks, carports and RVs on high traffic vacant lots with no permits for years. Thankfully, In Florida now, code complaints require the name and address of the person complaining that is verified. Enforcement will then visit the property and if they can't get in, they call to coordinate a time with the owner to do a physical inspection in a week or so. In most cases opening up a building permit only makes the county aware that something is going on with your property and creates activity records forever adding you to the database, where they did not even have you in their radar before.
Start by scoping the area. Then build a fence. 6ft if you can. Then start to camp in it or build a storage shed on it to see if people will mess with it.
I hope the type of septic they want you to have isn't cost prohibitive. In areas around me,EPA approved septics are 40-60k if the ground perks. The well is another 15k.So with permits you have 75 k invested so you have to build a very expensive house yo justify these costs. The good news is you got the land almost free.
Regulations and local enforcement making their own rules based on their opinion last conversation we had I asked what's you problem I have done everything you have asked he said I want you to move
Awesome! Congrats! I need your help. I am planning on purchasing a lot, and Location for me is everything. How did you know about this location, and do you think it was safe to buy & build?
Stay looking on Craigslist free section , sit down and make a list of thing things you want to get on their (fence etc.), you can get more than you think, and save a lot of money,
Bought my first lot this week. It's. .27 acres also $4k lol. Good luck to me. I plan to put a small cabin there. It's in the Ozarks. Might buy a 2nd one at this amazing price!
That's awesome. Why drop the tree though? A lot of the weeds growing up on it are ugly but they could be cleared. Very impressive improvement on the landscaping.
South Western side of Texas is the cheapest. Good luck finding something in and around the 4 major cities. San Antonio, Dallas and Houston , Austin. 1 acre is going for $47,000 near city. I have a cousin in the land business I get an earful every once in a while.
Possibly. I plan to move my tiny house that I built to there and rent it out. If my neighbor will sell me part of his land then I will have enough room to build another.
How many times did I say "like i said" ??
