I think mind pump has broke the mold with providing you with antidotes of life in the episode and then really dialing into fitness and diet at the end.. I have the last two weeks cut down my screen time with my daughter, put my phone down at 7pm to limit blue light in my face and walk after breakfast and lunch which has made a major difference try to listen to every single episode!

This year I set goals, but the goals were great habits that I wanted to obtain. I have always felt that changing my habits would give me much more than a set goal, and so far now in Jan, it is working great. I have a small notebook listing my habits and anything I do I make sure it matches the habit. So the farther I get in January the more the new habits become established, instead of forgotten like goals used to be. One habit I have is that any book I pick up no matter what it is, I set my timer and read it for 5 minutes, no matter how boring it may be. This has been working wonderfully.

Awesome episode, can say behaviors are the true foundation to creating long term success.
Used to be the type to think tremendous/grand actions would account for results. And ended up going through a cycle of weight fluctuations.
I re-started my fitness journey last year June 2022 by waking up at 6am and doing a simple 20 minute walk while listening to your episodes before my workday. After committing to that habit for 2 months, I eventually gained the confidence to join my local gym and work out 2-3 times a week; that then transitioned into 3-4 times a week, and have been consistent ever since!
Currently on your MAPS Anabolic program to take my fitness journey to the next level, and so far have been enjoying it! Seen so much improvement in my physical performance/energy, physique and overall strength. Thanks so much MP team for giving your audience such valuable information and resources. 🙌🏾

I am new to watching y’all consistently, and I am really liking the content. I have been following a PPL split since October aiming between 4-6 days a week, schedule permitting. I have been taking my wife’s brother and training him. He’s 6’2, around 145-155, probably the fastest metabolism anyone could ever hope for. He’s never worked out and we are trying to help his mental health. I’ve been getting him to eat more and it seems like he is gaining some weight, about 2-3 lbs since Oct. My question is on training style. I have been trying to focus on effective reps rather than volume. Jeff Cav, and Sean Nal have talked a bit about it. I have been focusing on 1 set per exercise, mainly compound lifts, picking a weight to where we fail or get close to failing at 12reps, resting 15 seconds and aiming up to 20ish reps, aiming for a total of 12 effective reps overall. I’m doing this because I don’t have two hours to train him and myself. Moving away from the 2-4 sets per exercise, is this an effective enough strategy paired with progressive overload? I’ve noticed my comp changing, and I’m keeping protein high while trying to get to around 185 before lean bulk. I’m 5’11, 204 and protein around 235, carbs 235 and fat 52. I just don’t know if I’m leaving gains on the table for myself and my brother in law. Thank you, and please excuse my novel.

We have 12 hens and zero eggs right now🥹 complete speculation BUT, avian influenza combined with the fact that you are probably buying pasture raised they are not given artificial light to force them to keep laying through their molt and the winter when daylight is shorter. My local stores always sell out of the pasture raised eggs first.
Also chickens lay ONE egg a day, and not every chicken lays an egg every day.

  • @terminatortrainingmethod8168

Adam, No shade AT ALL, but just something to add (from a fellow Mainer) to help the first caller...
The highest point in the continental United States is ~14.5k Ft (Mt. Whitney). The highest point in New England (where the hike is) is 6.3k Ft (Mt. Washington). For the sake of Justin's (the first caller from Maine) pride and dignity, I highly suggest not bothering with the altitude mask (nor would I if it was in fact at altitude- they don't actually mimic physiological effects of altitude. Like sal said, they just restrict breathing). From my experience walking long distances with a ruck on (coincidentally, walking 78 Mi on the AT in NC&TN this coming week), Sal is 100% spot on that blisters, pack/kit issues, chaffage/dermatologic issues, and joint pain will be the main factors that make or break the crew's chances of success. Additionally, water resupply/purification must be heavily considered, especially in the summer when it's hot/humid. Giardia is pretty common from trail streams (don't be fooled by how clean/pure they look and taste), so take that part seriously. I use a purifier water bottle AND iodine tabs (or boil it if it's at the end of the day). Hopefully this doesn't come off as me throwing shade, I love ya'll and listen to every episode💪. Just figured I'd throw it out there.

If you're caught up in a certain behavior, it can lead to an individual's success in fitness and life. It's like getting caught in a race. The more you try to escape, the more trapped you become. You might start to feel alive without the other people in the race, but you're not likely to get to the finish line.

Is 5-10 minutes too long of rest periods? I'm a newbie lifter doing full body 3x a week. I superset opposing muscle groups and do both sets of a superset to failure. I wait until the fatigue/lactic acid feeling goes away, before doing the next set. I sometimes even use a resistance band of relatively light weight pulling it apart and various dynamic stretching stuff to get my arms pumped which helps clear the fatigue faster.

Also seek out a Pain Free Touch Therapy specialist in your area. Every muscle is connected and an injury from years ago can be the cause too. If anything do the restroom and deep stretch yoga ✌️
