  • In this video we explain in step-by-step instructions how to replace the battery of the Sony Bluetooth speaker SRS-XB13.
    The process requires to remove the bottom portion of the speaker (the one with the passive radiator), which is glued to the main housing. This part is probably the most complicated portion of this job.
    Next we remove seven small Philips screws and remove the entire internal assembly of the speaker. Remove the driver from the bottom and gain access to the battery. The battery is glued into position with double-sided tape. make sure not to damage the battery as we remove it.
    Assemble the speaker again in reverse order. Before closing up the speaker, make sure that all buttons as well as the USB charging port are in working order.

    In the past, the manufacturer would have made that bottom part threaded to screw on with a rubber ring so you could replace the battery. Now, manufacturers WANT everything we buy to be disposable. I'm sick of it. If you want to help the environment, then this needs to stop (produces so much waste when you have to throw the entire device in the trash).

      I fully agree!!! I was considering this product to purchase but because of this throw away mentality that Sony encourage, I shall seek an alternative. So rather than holding me to ransom when the battery dies, you can lose my investment completely.
      Not good enough Sony - no excuses!

      Corrigieron ese error en una versión posterior qué trae 4 tornillos para luego quitar la tapa.

    I regularly use my speaker in the rain. I guess it loses its IP rating when you break the glue seal, right?

      Right, it would be difficult to seal this speaker back up

    Can we set equalizer. Because it's only effective for listening song not for watching movie. Sound is low for dialogues.

    • @MegaSafetyFirst
      @MegaSafetyFirst  Před 2 lety +1

      The speaker itself does not come with its own adjustable equalizer. This would have to done by the audio source.

    is the bottom speaker just an accessory? doesn't look like xb12

      It’s called passive radiator and is used to enhance the bass.
