They "beefed" up security ahead of the campaign because of Iranian threats? Are you serious? It was the "exact opposite of beefed up" on this day and they know it. This was a terrible performance from the secret service, and the security protocols were actually REDUCED in many ways, and the local security teams used on the day totally dropped the ball.
We have video evidence of spectators photographing/filming the shooter in plain sight on the rooftop, TELLING the local security personnel to alert to secret service to the presence of a guy with a rifle at least a minute beforehand. This is verifiable from numerous cellphone recordings. A security guard with an inexpensive surveillance drone at a birthday party for a well-to-do family could have noticed him.
The Democrat / MSM rhetoric around Trump as a new Hitler and an "Existential Threat to America" has played the predominant role in this, and using Iran as a scapegoat will not work. This is what they get for relying on cartoon-level fearmongering instead of focusing on policy comparisons. Then again, the policies have either been unsuccessful, or counterproductive. In the marketplace of ideas not too many are buying the product and they need to do something else rather than look for excuses.
