  • In a real biker vs police story, Nikki takes us on a spin to see some sights and tells us the story of how she had her first run in with the police. During this vlog we visit Loughrea lake and an old castle in New Inn in Co. Galway.
    Welcome to "that biker couple's" CZcams channel. We are a biker couple who love motorcycles and share our passion with the world. We get out on our bikes every chance we get and we always bring a camera with us. Follow us as we tackle our own maintenance, try out new mod's and gear, go on group spins, moto-camping and just have as much fun as possible.
    Nikki is a new rider, on a lowered Triumph street triple 675, who is just starting out and building her confidence and Dave is happiest when motorcycle camping on his Triumph Tiger 800 XR. We focus on quality content rather than quantity. Welcome along and check us out on all the usual social media sites.

    He was probably bullied in school, cops like that make me sick - they get a kick out of making people nervous. Here in Aus if you send the police a polite email asking for your fine/infraction to be reduced to a warning, they will often do so if you have no prior offenses and a relatively clean record. Might be worth a shot, although I'm no expert on Irish traffic law :P

      Haaa ya he prob was 😄 he really did scare me, like there's no need for it but I didn't want to provoke him in anyway. I couldn't have been more polite to him. Ive never been pulled by the guards or had any offences before. Ah I wish but I don't think that would work here but thank you so much for the advice. 😊

    Lovely video, nice place to ride.
    Tip: always keep an offline copy of your bike's registration cert + tax disc + insurance as pdf files on your phone.
    Garda will always find something you're doing wrong, even if you think there's nothing. You're a beginner on a pretty much powerful bike (the street triple is no joke), so they might just fine you to give you a lesson. Don't overthink it.
    I love to see that you gear up and take your protection and training seriously. Be safe!

      I'm definitely gonna do that from now on. Just a shame they seem to pick on bikers and paint us all with the one brush. Always gear up, you can't take any chances when it comes to riding your bike without the proper protection. Thank you for watching and ride safe out there...Nikki ❤

    Your bike gear has nothing to do with anything in regards with the law, we only need to wear a helmet by law so the rest is none of the Guards business. He was just an ass with nothing else to do. He has to back up what he's saying with his accusations. This stuff wrecks my head. Glad you feel a bit better about it.
    Plenty of safe Summer gear out and about Nikki. Thanks for the video, enjoyed your vid, keep it going.

      Yeah he was, no need for half the stuff he said. See if I had said that to him at time it would have turned our worse with him taking my bike after he claims it wasnt mine even though it is!!! Thanks for watching and ride safe 🙏🏍🤜🤛 .... Nikki ❤

    Nice one 👍 Guard must have known/ been told it was registered/insuranced etc when he did his checks, possibly doesn't like bikes or was having a bad day, 🤔 could of just given you a verbal warning rather than fine. Anyway keep going lesson learned. Take care stay safe 🏍👍🏍👍🏍👍

      He ran my details through the system so he had to have know it was mine and it was insured or maybe their systems aren't up to date😏 I though when he left he was just giving me a warning but then the letter arrived 2 weeks later, I got such a shock 😔 absolutely, and to you too 😊... Nikki❤

    Keep the videos coming! Ur doing great. Yes the guard you where dealing with was an asshole. He had no right to hassle you about your gear either. The only legal requirement for you is helmet and L vest.

      @DaveTube3310  Před 2 lety +1

    I'd take the 2 points to court as you had insurance and not sure if 2 points is allocated for no L vest. As for the right gear, irish law says you only need a helmet

      @DaveTube3310  Před 2 lety +1

      Ah to be honest I don't think It be worth the hassle, it's gonna be his word against mine and they will always believe the guard 😔 no idea why he gave a grilling over my gear 🤨

    in the UK if he has pulled you over and has reasons to give you a fine+points he has to write a notice there on the side of the road and that is your notice.
    When you go through a speed camera speeding you also have to receive a notice within 14 days.
    Sounds wrong to me defo should of said you're getting points. I mean what did he fine you on? the high vis jacket?

    • @DaveTube3310
      @DaveTube3310  Před 2 lety +1

      No he never mentioned anything to me about a fine or penalty points, no notice given by him at all. Yeah he fined me on the vest and points to go with it 😔

    Good video, I'm on bikes for over 40years now. And I'm still getting and have always gotten insurance on paper. Just like car insurance, and guards don't accept e,mail on phone. As for proper gear. Only helmet required in Ireland.. ride safe and enjoy your biking

    That Garda was in a mood and took it out on you. He should of told you about that points. I personally always print out my insurance cert and keep it in my wallet. The older generation of Garda's don't get the email and always ask for a cert

    • @DaveTube3310
      @DaveTube3310  Před 2 lety +1

    Why are they called Guards? instead of the police? they will say anything until you say "im sorry" then they got you. So he was lying to get you to confess. I would have asked for him to call his superior to actually come done to witness harrasement and report him. Aslong as you have something that tells you your insured, logbook and mot your fine.

    Biker for many years in Sweden and you had a encounter with a really sour and bad cop. Most of them are great but there are sadly cops who would do other work better than mixing up with the public. He probably felt BIG while harassing that little woman on her bike. Just forget him and have a nice day. 😄❤️👍

      Yep by law you have to wear a helmet and your learner plate/vest. Totally take responsibility for forgetting to put it on my vest, i was just taken aback when he said I didn't own my bike and it wasn't insured. I didn't want to antagonise him incase he would have taken my bike from me. I thought the guards had to inform you if they are fining or giving you penalty points but I could be totally wrong about that
