    The film stock used for all the photographs was Kodak Portra 800 with Leica M6 camera and Voigtlander Ultron 28mm f/2 lens.
    Lofoten Islands is a gorgeous travel destination for photographers and I highly recommend visiting especially during the summer season.

    A brilliantly made film with most of the famous locations like Hamnøy, Hauklandstranda, Ramberg, etc. Shooting analog in Lofoten is so special, in every single way. My girlfriend was a nurse on the islands in the summer of 2016, and I was lucky to spend three weeks with her during my vacation. I had been there before and had to return desperately. I took my analog Leica and photographed the hell out of those three weeks. I only took black and white photos, but they are still very precious to me. I’d love to return a third time, hopefully in the spring when there is more light but still snow. Shooting in such winter conditions is cold and a challenge in Norway. But luckily in Lofoten you’re never too far from a road so you can hop into your car - unless you pick a beach to which no roads lead, except a hiking trail. Usually those are the most incredible. The only problem with Lofoten is that it is becoming too popular and to some extent it has lost its status as an untouched, hidden corner of the world. Luckily there are many breathtaking alternatives in Northern Norway.

    • @csaba5415
      @csaba5415 Před 4 lety

      Oh and I should add that you had some incredible images in there, both drone and film! I love those taken at the beach near Ramberg and Hauklandstranda. It is fascinating how the color of the water can still be green in the winter, grass sticking out of the snow-covered sand... :)

    • @joelhypponen
      @joelhypponen  Před 4 lety +1

      Thank you so much for this, really appreciate it and glad you enjoyed the video. Lofoten truly is a special place in so many ways and it's the same for me, that I keep going back over and over again. I understand the conversation around locations becoming popular. At the same time a lot of the local businesses are depending on tourism, so it's a multi-layered topic. So glad you got to spend some time there and hope you get to return soon! 😊

    • @csaba5415
      @csaba5415 Před 4 lety

      Joel Hypponen Really kind of you, thanks for your kind wishes (or should I say Kiitos paljon?) :). Yes, tourism is also complex, and I am not an expert :). I agree, whatever happens, Lofoten will always be special. It has a very special place in my heart and it is in fact a part of the reason I moved to Norway in 2010. I also visited Jotunheimen last summer and used the same «windy boat» as you did on lake Gjende to get to Besseggen. We found that upper ridge a bit sketchy from the description of the hike but had another fantastic hike from the next boat stop at the other end of the lake. You took some beautiful images at Besseggen too. You were very lucky with the light. Asutko vielä Norjassa? :) Just found your channel so I wasn’t sure. Greetings from Oslo!
