This is actually pretty key, because I so often see people who have on a killer outfit, but the shoes look incredibly out of place.
gotta get the shoes right Isaac!
@@TheStyleOG What do you think would be a suitable outfit for lightly colored gold or rose gold shoes (sneaker head here)? I usually wear dark black or Dark blue jeans, with medium grey , black and white shirts. Would those combinations work with those colored shoes?
I can’t comment on every video because I’m usually out of town on business, but I definitely watch every video because they are full of great men information! Keep up the great work!
appreciate it Ricky!
I like wearing my black monk straps with dark denim. Great vid!
Thanks Mike!
Just stumbled onto this video. Great ideas. Great advice. It’s nice to see how shoe color andI shoe style can affect an outfit. I dress casual for work. Every once in a while I wear suits. Thank you for the video once again. Got plenty of ideas and feel more comfortable with the choices I make when dressing and wearing brown and cordovan shoes.
Thanks for the guide Jeff. Great advice.
you got it Anthony!
Nice video. Regarding the colours of shoes, I tend to prefer browns but sometimes when I wear a black it's not because I want a more formal look but more because it just matches the colours I'm wearing better. Agree oxblood is underrated
appreciate the input Jon!
Another awesome video bro! I couldn’t agree more...I take all of these points into consideration when selecting my shoes and socks (re: formality vs informality); my mood (how much attention do I want to draw to myself on any given day) etc.
Thanks as awlays Kevin!
A great little guide here, as always. I especially like how you mention the use of black shoes in casual wear. Too many people seem to think that it simply can't be done. As you said, I think the key (and what I do with my many black casual boots) is to have something in there that makes it 'pop'. Decoration, unusual laces, contrast sole, that sort of thing.
With that said, I'm a big fan of black wing-tips for formal outfits, just to make it that little bit more interesting. Though that may just have more to do with the fact that the most formal pair of shoes I've ever found that fit my feet happen to be black wing-tips.
appreciate the feedback David!
More awsome info as usual . Ox blood shoes are the next thing on my list .
Having the RIGHT shoe for the right outfit is very important! GOOD topic bro ♥
Great tips!I've been seeing a lot of suits with brown shoes with more broguing then I'm comfortable with, your tips are in line with my style!
Thanks Bill!
This is a great channel man
Appreciate that Samuel!
Great and informative content. It’s great seeing how the channel is growing keep it up and congratulations
my man Jason!
This really is a great channel OG. Fantastic content daily. Thanks
Appreciate that Ron!
Great vid, all of your videos are excellent
Yup!! OxBlood/Burgundy is really cool for Leather. Yeah sneakers are a different thing. Also in the sneakers, I don't only like the minimalist white sneakers. And sometimes I get hate for my athleisure/hyped/trendy shoes. But I only wear them with ultra casual or Smart Casual outfits at most. Never with sports coats/suits etc
appreciate the input!
Great info my brother. I just love this topic 👍
Thanks Sony!
love the suit! love the topic! great video Jeff! I learned something and those ox bloods were fire, notification gang!!!
Thanks Lee!
Style OG great advice for every occasion.

you got it Terrance!
I really enjoy these types of videos Thank You. I look forward to more videos on colour. Liked & subbed!
welcome to the channel Shane!
I agree with all the comments here regarding the Ox Blood. Ox Blood's are SO underrated. Earlier this year I was shoe shopping and looked right past the Ox Blood's; big mistake! Jeff's holding up a tan two toned wingtip at 5:46. In case anyone's interested, I picked up a phenomenal tan two tone wingtip from Massimo Matteo and got them shipped to my door for $168 dollars. They are the most comfortable and versatile shoes I own. Really good for chino's and jeans and maybe casual trousers. They're probably not Allen Edmond's quality, but they're damn close.
Anthony Johnson definitely going to check them out
@@dattepo7534 Hey Dat, ahhh no, I would skip the Massimo Matteo's. That was over 2 years ago and I've learned a lot about shoes since then. The Massimo Matteo leather quality is not as good as I thought it was. Also, the soles are not stitched....they're glued. There are so many other brands out there, and even slightly pre-owned shoes on Ebay that are much better. Save your money and get a better brand like Allen Edmonds. I was just so excited at the time because it was my first part of tan brogues.. Sorry, I hope I didn't mislead you.
Anthony Johnson no I’m exited of the color! I don’t have ox blood
Awesome advice
Thanks Dallas!
Thank you,
Great video thank you OG. What color shoes should I wear with a flannel brown suit? Oxblood?
Nice tips I always enjoy your videos
Thanks John!
great advice bro
Thanks Coach!
The knowledge In this was stellar
Appreciate it my brother..
I just binged on a few of your videos. How’s the move to ATL!
Very informative...Salute!
Salute Ahmad!
I'm a new fan of the channel and I really enjoyed it. Would you do the best hairstyles and grooming for people of color?
great suggestion Christopher, welcome to the channel..
Another great video, Jeff. I definitely agree about the oxblood, which goes great with a blue blazer and light khaki slacks. Add a button-down blue oxford shirt, and you have a great casual dress outfit. Add a tie, and you're ready for a dinner date. So many styles, but so little time. Seriously,
(was going to say before I accidentally hit enter) it takes a while to cycle through a wardrobe, mixing and matching.
always appreciate the input Lou!
Great video OG. I have a question about this nice boot I saw at Cobbler Union. It's called the John and it's reddish colored and black; cherry-like. I like the boot, but just wonder what I can wear them with other than black. What are your thoughts?
Great video OG
Thanks Jacques..
I started followed you and I made a difference on my style and learned more from you.I also recommend my french people to subscribe on ur channel
Giving the people what they want! Salute versitality
HAHA! Salute Jacob..
Just seen this video OG. Great advice. My question to you is when it comes to dress shoes Captoes in particular, what do you think about a rounded toe versus a “Soft” Square toe shape? Is a “Soft” square toe more formal? Is it something you like? Thanks
Great vid, man! Is those black shoes derbies?
Dope video like always OG. Very informative.
How do you always get your pocket square to look so crisp and clean like in this video?!
appreciate it Frank!
years of practice! lol
Thats probably the best looking suit ive ever seen
Thanks!
Man is it me or does Oxblood sounds like a strong, dope color...🔥💯💪🍷
STRONG Eric! lol
Take 'em to school Jeff! Great breakdown👍
Thanks my friend!

Great video!
thanks David!
Appreciate it David!
Great video, Jeff! I have some dark brown sneakers from Johnston and Murphy, I got them to go with my navy blue, and my grey chinos, what do you think?
i think that will work very well Steven!
When do i get my salute?
Clean outfit og sometimes I wish you could get in full body shot always wonder what pants and shoes you wearing with the top part
I'll put more in the future!
what about a plain formal black shoe with bright laces?
Very good video as always! Only two issues: The black shoe you are holding is a derby, not an oxford one. Second, there are more parameters that define the dressiness of a pair of shoes. The form of the shoes, meaning that the more elongated the more dressy the shoes (more round, more casual) and the windth of the sole, meaning that the more "fat" soles make more casual shoes. Another factor is how shinny the shoes are, that is the more texture (e.g. suede) the more casual the shoes. Of course I understand that in a video you want to refer only to the basics. Thank you!
great input Nikos! very much appreciated..
I kid you not, I was just looking up how to do this and then got your notification.
i'm psychic, i keep telling people..lol
Hi OG. What's your opinion on a casual boot. Looking at one that is a toe cap, plain otherwise ( Thursday boot/Captain) and one that has quite a lot of brogue.( Burberry I think). Appreciate your view on this
love a casual boot!
Good video. If you don't mind me asking, do you have a job when you're not making videos? You're work ethic is respectable.
i do have a job..Thanks Tofu!
Brother does tan brown goes with black ?
Recently purchased a pair of tan double monk straps with no broguing. No cap toe either. So the shoe is formal but the color is not. Can i get away with lighter color jeans? Could i wear this with chinos in a more casual setting outside the office?
Lighter color jeans are hard to pull off with dressier shoes but it will work with chinos..
Jeff, A video on how to wear dress shoes with jeans would be great if you have not done one. It would be one like this one, but more focused on that topic.
check this one out!

Just to say the black shoes shown first was a derby not oxfords.
you are correct Sir!
These 2 questions are for O.G and anyone who wanna answer. For the ox blood joints what type of watch would you sport with that? Also I'm going to Mia for memorial day what type of shoes would be appropriate for a upscale club/lounge?
How about blue shoes?
Yo, Style O.G.! Love your channel sir! However; I think you meant to say the black shoe you were holding is a black derby (darby), not an oxford!
it is an oxford my friend, the eyelets are under the vamp..
My bad! I figured it was just the way the light was catching the shoes! Learning a lot from you, sir!
I try to do this too, or at least my belt to my shoes or pants, belt and socks to my shoes
Salute
A blk shirt, gray slacks (w/blk belt) & burgandy shoes; make for a settle, but nice... casual outfit.
appreciate the input Ferdinand!
👌🔥
Thanks Owen!
Salute me up cuz
Would you wear these shoes in more casual settings where most other guys are in sneakers and t-shirts? Secifically the more casual styles.
I would but I tend to dress a little more on the dressier side..
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the shoe at 2:08 a black derby and not an oxford?
The eyelets are under the vamp making it an Oxford..
Always thought oxfords were defined by the closed lacing system, not by eyelets, but great video and thanks for the info Jeff!
no problem Ryan, I have come across some confusing on the topic to be quite honest,,appreciate the feedback!
I'm trying to figure out ways to wear my black Allen Edmond St. John's double monk
Arthur Schopenhauer I wear my black double monks with gray chinos, any black pants, sometimes very dark blue pants and possibly dark denim.
Mark Dobkin thanks for the tips. Grey, black and navy blue is a given. I wonder if there's alternatives.
Sounds like a beautiful shoe. Boldly go forth I say and enjoy them.
Arthur I have to agree with Mark Dobkin completely. I can't think of another pant style or color that they would work with that he didn't list. Maybe a dark Olive.
I notice the trend towards brown shoes has gotten so popular that wearing black shoes you almost appear "trendsetter". I see guys in dark blue suits with light brown shoes it reminds me of kids dressed up for Easter Sunday. Like someone picked it out for them and they don't know any better.. Brown shoes are versatile but are you wearing the shoes or are the shoes wearing you? I see or perhaps sense more of the latter when I look around in this big city I live in. I am contrarian by nature so burgundy or black are my favourites.
appreciate the input my man..
Great comment. Because brown can come in so many shades, variations and patina, I think you need to be very purposeful when selecting the shoe for the outfit. Walnut does not go w/ everything that's for sure.
Nothing wrong with light brown shoes on navy pants.I wear my buclinghams in tan from loake with navy or blue all the time
Hey famma Satule, hey I have some stan Smith Adidas all white, should I dress down with them for summertime!!!!!.Cashmere
you know I'm going to say yes! lol
🤴🏾
I THOUGHT THE SAYING WAS, "THE DARKER THE SHOE, THE SWEETER THE SHOE JUICE?"
that "oxford" looked like a derby tbh
it is indeed a derby
Better background now, 36 t your going some wear with this, good job.
Good that you alter your voice at the end (you should do that moore), when you come across strong I think you should go voice over. You have a strong voice and I think you should go moore close up sometimes, talk quite, smoth and lover the speed. Then moore examples. Higher frequence with examples.
Nice lighting and sound, but ditch the music.
appreciate the feedback..
What’s up Jeff can I rock a navy blue nubuck with jeans .
He's holding up derby shoes but calls them oxfords? It refers to the lacing system. Maybe you guys don't differentiate them in the US?

You got style OG. But you need a better barber. The way you dress your beard need to be on point
You wrong on this video dog. Come up to the 21st century.
