Full Interview With Vatican Museum Director

Dr. Barbara Jatta made history when Pope Francis appointed her as the first ever woman to be appointed to the role of director of the Vatican Museums. In a rare one-on-one interview, she tells EWTN's Colm Flynn about what the role means to her, and the impact she feels her appointment could have on young women around the world. She was also the director of the Vatican Museum through one of its most trying times in history, Covid19. During the global pandemic the museums had to close, losing the Vatican millions of euro. Dr. Jatta worked to keep the museums over 1,000 staff employed through the lockdowns. In this interview she tells Colm about that period, and also what the future is for the museums now.
