- Hey!! First semester of the Dental Hygiene Prerequisites. I'm taking 6 classes and they are :
History - "United States History to 1876"
Sociology- Introduction
Political Science- "American Government"
Humanities- "Science and Technology"
Speech- "The Fundamentals"
Psychology- "Introduction"
My goal is to get ALL A's for the first time in my life! Next semester will be the really difficult Chemistry, anatomy, Biology and math classes, so I really need to learn how to be an excellent student now.
Come along and let's see what happenssss. Thank you for all the kind comments and encouragement. ILY!

Rooting for you love ❤️ looking forward for more updates! 📚🦷
I loved my time at dental school. I'm a dental therapist.
Please do an update!! I’m starting my prerequisites soon this fall and spring 2022!
I hope everything is going great, You got this!! 💪
I might start vlogging too ☺️
I GOTCHU, BOO! I took a year off bc of the 'Demic, and online learning sucked! Just started up again. Only taking two classes to get back into the swing of things. Def updating everyone and looking forward to your vlogs!
Currently taking Humanities, psychology, and English ❤️ can’t wait to be done with prerequisites:) English a lot of essays and psychology is really easy.
This was a great video! Not a lot of people take about the pre-reqs for dental hygiene. I'm actually taking pre-reqs for the dental hygiene program as well. I plan on applying to the program within the next two months. I hope your semester is going great and remember to keep pushing through!😊
Thank you for your comment! Yeah I wanted to document and share the whole process since, I know for me, that when I get into something I want to research EVERYTHING first. Are you taking the science pre-reqs this semester???
Samantha Mazzy You’re welcome! I was also thinking about documenting the last of this semester and the application process next semester. Yes I am taking 3 science courses and the labs along with them this semester. I am also taking pubic speaking and sociology.
@@SiRobinson girl, how are the science courses????????
how did it go? did u get in?
Woah! 6 classes?! I’m overwhelmed with 3! But I do also work full time at a dental office haha
Love your videos, I’m going to do my prerequisites as well for DH, great video I hope you post up more for updates 🤍
How old are you?
Glad to know I'm not the only one that thought Sociology was a little hard (is hard, I'm currently still taking it)
I’m starting my classes in March I’m nervous to fail many people tell me it’s all in the books so study. I’ve been in the dental field since I was 18 worked back and front so I decided to pursue a degree in dental hygiene.
babe! I'm on my 3rd semester, my advice is once you get to the math and science is to not take full semesters and ONLY take 2 hard classes at a time. ( Hard classes are the math and science ones. ) YOU CAN DO IT!
You don’t know how scared I am to start going to college for pre dental hygiene. I did half of my middle school and all my high school years online so I’m very scared
I’m did my first semester online and I’m going to do my second semester online as well but then third semester I have to go on campus because of my science classes 😕
@@Thatgirl19_ the struggle is real. I had the worst social anxiety and my stupid self did homeschool for 6 years and now I’m so scared to death
@@HahaHaha-rv3ps aww lol I did homeschool my whole high school year too and little bit in my 8th grade year 😭 The struggle is far too real
how many class can you take in dental hygine
Do you think anyone can get through it if they put in the work? It is my dream to become a Dental Hygienist, but I have to work harder to retain information. Maybe I just need a different approach when it comes to studying?
This is what I am experimenting with myself at the moment. I know I'm not stupid, but I am unsure if I am able to thrive in academics, because in the past I always failed in school. And to be a DH you HAVE to get a 3.0 or you are kicked out of the program. I am not sure how I am going to do in the more difficult subjects of chemistry , biology, math, anatomy, ect at all. Subscribe and lets see what happens with those next semester.
Samantha Mazzy thank you for responding! I definitely subscribed. I am excited to see your journey. I wish you the best of luck! 😊
Update : how is it going ??
Do you find that academics interfere with your creativity? I always had a hard time going between my art and the structured day to day of school.
What an awesome question! The answer is YES and NO! I have not yet figured out how I am going to have enough hours in the day to go to class m-f, do all the required reading and assignments, study, join an extracurricular (to help get into a better school), work, and paint. I do, however, always slip in moments of creativity. I style my outfits and try new things with looks and I carry around a small sketchbook for when I feel like drawing new ideas. So far though, this is as much as I've been able to manage. I wish there was more hours in the day!
What are you easiest classes
Psychology is really easy
Can I continue my dental education after I get my associates degree and apply to get my bachelors and then my master’s in dentistry?
What happens if you fail some classes at your community college dental hygiene or ever at a 4 year dental school would they make drop out of the class or school?
Should I get all of my pre required class before I apply to a community college dental hygienist program?
HI! Great questions! You actually can not start DH school until you have completed the necessary prerequisite before hand. You can obtain a bachelors thru a bridge program once you have completed your 2 years in DH school and can do the bridge program while working as a licensed DH. You can not fail your classes once you're in the DH program or you'll be kicked out of the program! You need a C or better to continue. Hope that helps!
DID YOU GET ALL As ???
bro! I got all A's EXCEPT IN PYCH! I got an 89. WTFFFFFFFFF and I totally could have gotten the Prof to bump me up a point bc of a disruption that happened during the last exam, but I was honestly so drained by the end of the semester I was like "Whatever." lol honestly regret not doing it a little still. Gpa is 3.8 now but I can take an extra course and raise it later.
MORE CONTENT.
I KNOW!!! This Chem class is so intense, I'll make an update in May after finals. You can also DM on Ig @loom.g0v I'm active on there
@@Loom.g0v okay as long as you aren't gone forever! i spread my pre-reqs out over an.....extended period 😅 but i finally start the DH program in the fall, when is yours starting?
How does one handle 6 classes? That is way too much.
Sabri multiple internal meltdowns, I was in school literally 40+ hours a week, but it was good because I knew it was only for a semester and it saved a lot of time in getting my pre-reqs.
Samantha Mazzy wait so it only took 1 semester to finish your prerequisites....please help me I’m so lost I’m a incoming senior in high school and I’m trying to know as much as possible.
@@jayjbraker6273 no no no, 1 semester to finish 6 out of 16! New video for Fall Semester 2020 uploading now! Let me know if that clears things up for you, I know this is confusing.
ARE YOU IN THE PROGRAM NOW!?
4 classes of prerecs left!
Ohh hell Noo 6 classes 😭
i was only planning to take two..... not all 6
I took my classes slow to ensure I got a good grade in all of them and didnt have to retake some like my peers did. Just got accepted in DH! I start in 3 weeks🙂
@@meowk5812 I ended up doing 4 classes this term... just started Monday 😭😭 please wish me luck and Best of luck to you!!!
@@jessynicholle good luck!! :)
