Amazing how the piggies let her carry them without squealing and struggling out of her arms.

Great to see the piggies back on the homestead. Can't wait to see how your deep litter system works!

That's outstanding! We just got back from Texas picking up four goats, my pig breeder let me know our pigs are ready to be picked up. 😳 We aren't ready! She'll have another litter ready in June so we'll get ours then. I PM you to ask for your feed source, I was very impressed with your pigs last year!

  • @daniellesduckheadhomestead3127

Your yard looks like a normal yard 😉.
The pigs look great. One day I would like to raise some old spots or maybe some red wattles. Seems like there are much better feed options in Northern Idaho vs Southern Idaho. Just easier to find non-gmo options here. Down there it was very limited. Anyhow.
Thanks for sharing. Take care, see ya :)

I can get you in touch with Jennifer when you're ready for some old spots (she'll also talk you out of red wattles - she got rid of hers)

  • @southloupriverhomestead4696

I,m curious what nice feeder pigs like that run in your area? I,m wondering about that tarp. Anytime we try to block the wind with a tarp they bite it , rip it, pull it down.

    Two questions please.
As you are raising them just a few months, and they are both naked, do you still need to castrate them?
Second question. Will coyotes bother them when they are this young?
Thanks in advance for the reply.

      1. yes
      2. probably not

They are castrated already 😊 The pigs seem to divert coyotes from my place, but I have large breeding pigs that sound like bears at night!

Thank you for this video! I have a question...when I handle my pigs they go crazy. My eardrums are hurting the next day. How are yours so calm??

    • @TheGrassfedHomestead
      @TheGrassfedHomestead  Před 2 lety

It's rare that they don't scream. It was just a fluke this time. Best not to handle them
