La Valse d'Oberlin with Tami and Claudette - Devon's Tune of the Day 076 at Lark Camp

Here at Lark Camp, I'm joined by two best buds, Tami Allen and Claudette Boudreaux from Zydeco band Whozyamama and Cajun band Les Femmes d'Enfer. Tami's been teaching me how to play the "secondeur" part on the fiddle in Cajun music, basically a really cool chordal fiddling tradition. This Louisiana Creole waltz, "La Valse d'Oberlin" or "Oberlin Waltz", is from the repertoire of Bois-Sec Ardoin and Canray Fontenot. It was an absolute pleasure to learn and a nice way to connect with some Cajun "cousines"!
