I agree about the UI on zoom stuff. I don't like touch screens for one thing. For another, the older G1x and G7 and g9 were laid out a little better IMO. And that mic setting thing is just odd. That said it can load 3rd party IR's. Wish my G1x Four could do that. Overall the modeling here is solid though.

@@lucjanszolanski Both are good devices. Taylor made a cool short chugging battle using them. There is also a very comprehensive comparison by Leo Gibson - not with Metal chugs though 😅.
My MG-30 pros compared to Pod Go
      1) has significantly more flexible FX chain
      2) better A/D/A conversion (32 bit, 48kHz vs. 24 bit 96kHz) ...it really has a very good dynamic range
      3) Little bit better latency (2ms vs. 3ms... shouldn't make a difference, Ampero has 5ms)
      4) has AUX in port
      5) Simple drum machine (nice for practice)
      6) Cabs with mic positions (Pod Go doesn't have mic positions)
      7) is easily driven by battery pack
      8) smaller & lighter => more portable
      9) much cheaper
      10) better/nicer UI (device and PC/Mac software)
My MG-30 cons compared to Pod Go
      1) less amps/fx
      2) no balanced I/O (easily fixed using passive DI on stage)
      3) Less foot switches (you can though use a MIDI extension)
Tone&Feel wise... I'm spoiled in liking the MG-30 more... but: both are capable of good tones and don't disappoint. Both have very small latency around 2ms/3ms which is significantly less than e.g. Ampero with 5ms. 5ms are not much, but if you e.g. add a wireless system or a pedal like digitech drop 5ms more likely fall over to 10ms which starts to get uncomfortable.
My personal opinion: The MG-30 currently is the top level device from NUX. The Pod Go was introduced as a low budget variant of its bigger siblings. So some of the restrictions of the Pod Go are somewhat arbitrary to not cannibalize the more expensive products. At the price point of the Pod Go I would think about saving a bit more and looking for a higher price range. At the price range of the MG-30... its a steal. It will be interesting how a higher class MG-30 successor might look like. I've no real info besides of some remarks or the obvious point that the MG-300 sits clearly on a GE-150 price point and the MG-30 on a GE-200 price point (both NUX being better then the Mooers). So there could be a "MG-3" which would compete on a GE-300 level but be significantly better than that?
Certainly not complete in both lists - and the number of points difference should not be counted up for declaring a "winner". It depends on your needs. A feature you never will use will not be a pro and a con which you dont't care the same. E.g. if the amp/fx models in the MG-30 are enough to get anything done - then the fewer models are no problem. Also: better have a few good models than plenty of mediocre ones. There will be further updates for the MG-30 including some amps (like 5051) and fx models.

I had the original G5 and it was kind of a joke. Some of the effects and patches were just...unusable. Just filler to say "yeah, we've got over 100 reverbs" when only a few would be actually good enough to use. Then I went with the G5n which had that funky expression pedal that pivoted side to side as well as up and down. Much improved, but still not worthy. I went to the Digitech RP500 then the RP1000 that used the iPad... Then I ditched that and got the Line 6 M13 which was really good. Then the Boss ME80 then the GT100....then the Fender Mustang boards...then I finally went with the Helix and feel I scored a home run. Especially after all the crap I went through. My point is there's probably many who that had similar arcs and have that bad taste still in their mouths. But now I see all these new generation of boards from Headrush, the Ax Effects FM9 and of course the Fractal. It really is tempting. But it's taken almost a year of learning the Helix and it will take quite a bit to move me away from it.

Zoom is not complicated, it's a better user interface but different that the others systems. It take 5min to understand then you are good.

Uff... The zoom sounds not that great compared to other modellers you have tested. (listening on cali lp6s)

Most molders sounds sketchy. Especially in the treble, those Cali's are just basic monitors. Good for cheap.

Is it really difficult to make all modellers creators sit on a table, tell them look I want you guys to make an FX with all amps and cabs simulations available today 99 PER CENT REALISTIC SOUND MATCH and after passing dozen of sound quality tests .. release it for maybe 800$ bar? Without tweking parameters and shit?

_"It's not intuitive..."_ ... That's a poor excuse for not reading the manual. *_That's what a manual is for_* - so you can learn to use the product - and once you read the manual, it's as simple as 1-2-3.
I don't get the reluctance to just read it so as to learn how to use something and then, complaining that it's "not intuitive". Makes no sense whatsoever.

I own a Zoom G3n and a Mooer GE200, and I've kinda given up on the Zoom. In the bedroom, the G3n sounded amazing, but in a mix, the GE 200 takes the cake, plus it has an IR loader built in. I think the G3n's weak point was the low end. If I dialed in too much, I couldn't hear anything else, but when I tried to take some low end out, it ended up sounding too thin. I think the bass control on the G3n amp sims, was too wide, as in, they also took away a lot of the low mids. Maybe they changed something with this new generation. If you want to hear the GE200 EVH 5150 amp sim in a mix, check out my song: soundcloud.com/cristian-trohin/stain
